I noticed that Paz Vizsla had a harder time wielding the dark saber than Din, even though Paz is much stronger than Din. When Din was defensive with the dark saber, he moved with less effort. I'm pretty sure the armorer seen this and knows that Din is a top candidate of sorts to possess the dark saber. Now she has cast him out, but I think it is a test more than it is rejecting him. Kind of casting him out into the wilderness to prove himself kind of thing. This episode was not only visually awesome, it was plot rich as well. It exposed a whole bunch of doors that can be opened up. The more I watch, the more I want.
Exactly, she sees Din for being incredibly skilled and noble. Who still mostly respects and abides by the creed except for when say, his foundling is in danger. She is obviously wise and should see Din for the best choice to rebuild Mandalore. Like you said she sends him out but not with any hint of disdain or a lack of understanding. But because that is the way and he will atone for his actions so she knows he'll come back better than before
Key point is she let him leave with Mandalore's most prized relic. If she truly felt he was unworthy she would've challenged him herself. I feel, as is her craft, she is trying to forge him into his optimal self.
This is Din Djarin's "Thesis Defense" moment. He did nothing wrong, yet failed the Creed. This can mean only one thing...the Creed is broken. This is the moment of awakening that Din Djarin needs to find. Recall "Fight Club"...nobody is allowed to join, they are turned away for many days before being accepted. Same-same with this even more exclusive club.
I mean, I see it more as like, and SemblanceofSanity had a great argument of this, the Watch is down to 3 people. You cut one loose because of your stupid way. Now you have 2 left. Din keeps the darksaber and his armor, and always has other Mandalorians to fall back on. We'll see who will come back begging later once Din and Bo Katan have retaken Mandalore.
@@Dilligff I also just remembered that the Armorer said " The dark saber is a more noble weapon for you to wield." Which too me is her acknowledging Din as the future leader of Mandalore. Also, She was able to handle the dark saber with no issues so I think she is force sensitive and possibly can see certain glimpses of the future and already knows of the path Din must take.
08:55 remember when Kanan was teaching Sabine how to fight with Darksaber, with each hit the blade felt lighter for her beacuse she was conecting to the blade, it seems that Mando can't conect with the blade
Yeah, Disney/SW seems to have this new philosophy of "We are just going to give you the thing. You want Ahsoka? She is in the first shot. You want Din? He is in the first scene" I love it.
Its so good to see Din again! I really hope he's going to go visit Grogu next episode. Maybe he can even get some more advice on how to use the Darksaber. His new ship looks amazing, if maybe impractical for taking bounties. Maybe he'd just stick them in the droid seat, who knows. I look forward to seeing him team up with Boba and Fennec again. Thanks for the reaction!
@@Comic3247 Well it's possible they'll leave the fight against the Pykes for the finale, and spend the next episode with Grogu. But to be fair, I think even if we do see Grogu, it's unlikely to be for the whole episode.
I think we see a quick scene with Grogu and then a training montage with Luke. If anyone can teach Din how to properly wield the dark saber it'll be Luke.
You know, it's kinda funny how there was some initial reservation before the series started about The Mandalorian NOT being about Boba Fett, and now the fandom craves to see our favorite space dad show up on Boba's show.
That's all one long shot, going on for more than two minutes, walking down the hall, going down the elevator and dropping off the head, going back up the elevator, etc. That's pretty impressive. 👍 Bryce Dallas Howard.
I'm going to be honest, Bryce Dallas Howard has directed Star Wars the best out of anyone since Disney bought the IP. Rogue One and Solo are close but both of those films were heavily reworked with other directors being brought in later.
While I do love Din and seeing loads of easter eggs, I'm sad that Boba keeps getting overshadowed in his own show. Though Episode 2 will always be my favorite, this episode is like a teaser for the third season of Mando and I'm all for it.
What a freaking treat/tease for The Mandalorian's series! I had to replay the first fight scene and watch closely but he did cut himself. Inexperience, that's all. Love seeing the flashback for what happened. Great info on their history. Hearing what she said about Bo was interesting. She was forging some armor for Grogu, some chain mail armor. My thoughts are, when Mando visits or gets to see Grogu, Luke will possibly give him some tips on handling the Darksaber. Who knows? Enjoyed this very much!!
@@coulombedon Ok. imma be quite honest here: I fully see myself being able to completely fuck this up and embarrassing myself but I also see that you edited the comment and i'm somewhat sure it said something else before🥴 what a dilemma 🤭
@@joramsim I originally wrote "3 people in the galaxy" (Luke, Leia, Ahsoka), but I added or "or 4" because I wasn't taking the possibility of Ezra Bridger into account
I was afraid of this. This isn't really an episode of the Book of Boba Fett... It's an episode of The Mandalorian dropped into another series. Which... don't get me wrong was a great episode, but considering how this series has been more of a slow buildup before now. This pretty much upstaged what came before it and kind of interrupts the build up toward whatever the Boba Fett roller coaster has to offer. Especially seeing as Boba wasn't even in it.
I get why you're bothered but "roller coaster" is hardly the term I'd use to describe this series so far. It's been more like "old guy riding a motorized cart." For my money, they've already botched Boba Fett rather badly. It's a salvage job at this point. They really need to turn things around.
@@halamander1112 The "roller coaster" refers to that part leading up to the big drop before the loops, speed, twists and turns start. We've been on that slow uphill part until now.
@@Kamina.D.Fierce Fine, but if you're already convinced we're on a roller coaster, then what are you worried about? If you're right (and just be clear, I hope you are), then it'll play out like one. I'm afraid I'm just not as optimistic as you are based on what I've seen so far. In fact, I wouldn't be too surprised if, when all is said and done and the series draws to a close, that the episode where Boba was entirely absent (this one) turns out to be the high point of the series.
@@halamander1112 That is indeed what should be feared for Boba's sake. However... When I think about how the series has been I think back to Clone Wars and Ahsoka's start. Intentionally designed to be hated but in a crontrolled way so that her arc had a huge payoff (Which it did) and now look at Ahsoka's popularity and how she is one of the most important characters in the franchise. I'm not saying they can or will be able to pull that off with Boba in 3 episodes (or maybe they can, who knows), but this feels like a familiar setup. Not to mention, the worst or lowest moment in Book of Boba is still 10,000 times better than the Sequel Trilogy's entirety.
@@Kamina.D.Fierce Ahsoka to Boba is apples to oranges. The creators don't need to lay out a long-term plan in order to turn Boba into a fan-favorite. He already is a fan favorite and has been for years. He didn't enter this series with an image problem. Yet against all odds, they've actually managed to make Boba Fett boring. Something I previously believed to be impossible. It's the reverse of Ahsoka, come to think of it. I liked Boba much better before this series came out. They're driving his stock down.
13:52 "I can bring you in warm or I can bring you in cold...Oh wait, I forgot I don't have enough space for you. Ok, you can try to defend yourself now. Not that it would change anything, but I'm still giving you a chance!"
When i first saw the links that the armorer made for Grogu my first thought was that she might be making him a chain? Maybe something to hold his favourite ball to.
If they had flashing light sirens on those x-wings I would have fallen out of my chair. That opening sequence was like when Ashoka showed up in The Mandalorian.
That Halo style station was one of the coolest things I've ever seen in SW. These shows just keep expanding the universe and showing stuff the films wouldn't necessarily have time for. As nice as that N1 is, it's totally inadequate for Din's needs- it's like a guy getting a hot rod when he really needs an RV or 18 wheeler. How much stuff can he carry in there? Hope he gets the new Razorcrest he wants because that ship has become almost as iconic as the Falcon or an X-wing
The Phantom Menace: "Now THIS is podracing!" -Anakin Skywalker as he escapes while single handedly blowing up a Trade Federation ship. A New Hope: "Just like Beggar's Canyon back home." -Luke Skywalker during the Death Star Trench Run Book of Boba Fett: "Wizard." -Mando after piloting his new customized classic.
Seeing a "Halo" ring in Star Wars was everything I ever needed tbh. Grew up on both series and they're still my favorite to this day, makes me want a SW fps that plays like a Halo game now.
This was the best Episode of Boba Fett after the other 4 parts.I missed "The Mandalorian" so much and now he got his own show in Boba Fett. This is advertising for "The Mandalorian" Season 3 and a good start for something new. I am looking forward to more stories from the STARWARS Universe. Greetings from Germany and very good Movie from you.... Bernd
Bryce did a terrific job! With all the ep. She dirette I really love her touch and her story telling visuals. For what is worth she has earn my trust for a solo project star wars related.
My biggest problem is that within 10 minutes, Mando is already 1000x more badass, ruthless and awesome than Boba has been in 4 episodes. Small nitpick to an epic episode.
Boba has been fighting all his life even when he's was with the Tuskins.Everyone wants Boba to be badass 24/7 hes been around alot longer than mando look how long its taken to get over his injuries from the zalack pit. When you get older you get smarter and wiser and you learn from life experiences. Boba is still badass and hes going to kick some arse using his experience and new found wisdom. I like how the series has been unfolding so far .Boba wouldve tried to take on the hole of tatooine on his own in his younger days but now he realise he needs help and he wants to be more like a ruler every loves not one they all fear.I can also see he wants to turn tattooine into a planet everyone wants to do business with. Also to honour his Tusken tribe.
What are the odds that there is going to be a mythosaur in those living waters on Mandalore when Din goes there? He'll see Boba on a rancor and will be riding a mythosaur to prove to his eventual detractors that he should rule.
They chose this ship because it suits what he will be doing. This was great so we can jump into season 3. Remember all these shows are connected and will end in an event. Hopefully all characters new and old will appear in all the shows.
Definitely aware, like I said, it’s great for an assault or battle which will probably be on Mandalore but still as a bounty hunter, it’s not the best choice at the moment! :P
@@Omn1Media You are the first one to address this. Many reactor did not look at the practicality of the ship. It feels like fan service, but it does not fit him and his job.
LOL loved the reaction fam. Bro, I felt the same way about him CUTTING THAT DUDE IN HALF. I thought that was hella dark for him LOL. Thanks for another good reaction homie.
Best Episode I have Seen In a LONG time. All it needed to do was get rid of Boba, lol. Had everything that I love about this universe I love in it. Well written, fun, well directed. Full of Lore, great fan service, and actually got me excited for the finale and Mando season 3. Hope they dont fumble the ending to this series. As A guy that does his own auto-mechanics and built my first car I love the ship building segment, was just the right length to build a strong bond with the vehicle.
This episode showed once again that Din is a much more interesting character to follow around even without the baby. I feel bad for Boba, but he just isn't main character material.
Grogu, the Mythrol, the Twilek prisoner & Kaba Baiz (in this chapter) are the only bounties we've seen Mando take in so far. i get the point re the ship but with an adapted astromech bay he could've carried all of those, easily. didn't even need much room for Baiz...
- “You can’t have the spear, Beskar should only be used as armor, not a weapon.” ... “Now, Shall I craft some whistling birds for you instead” "Sure! This is the way." (not to mention the Dark Saber is made of Beskar) - The best episode of the series so far… too bad it had nothing to do with the Book Of Boba. This just makes me want the Mandalorian season 3 over “BOB.” This just shows off how dirty they are doing Boba.
I don’t think the rebuild scene went too long. It shows even more that Din is cool with droids now. If BD is here, could this mean that we see Cal Kestis in a future episode? Perhaps Luke assigns Grogu’s training to Cal? Maybe it’s training for Cal too.
What I think is, what the Armorer says about Jedi needing to forgo all attachment, we've seen time and again that if Jedi forgo _all_ attachments, they lose sight of what's happening in the present 🤔😔. Nothing is ever _truly_ absolute, and the same could possibly be true for the Way of the Mandalore 🤔, and Din Djarin will most likely find it 🤔😉👍🤞🙏.
Bruh this episode left me BREATHLESS. It probably already has an official name but right now can we name it the blade wing? It even LOOKS LIKE A BLADE Imagine he gets both ships a new razor crest and the blade wing
I have mixed feelings about that ship. It's a starfighter, so it's not a ship to really live out of... Or bring passengers along in if you catch my drift. Where would Grogu sit?
I freakin busted out laughing dude. Fuckin X-Wing officers lmao. Edit: of course I commented before the video ended lol. I love Bryce as an actress, but she really has her dads eye. Her direction gets better with each project she’s on!
He can dock it in Bokatans cruiser as a mother ship especially when they go to retake Mandolore. He told her he will help and he needs to go to the waters below
She made Grogu Beskar chainmail hence the chainlinks shown. which would be light enough for the little guy to wear under his cloak. Think Frodos Mithril shirt from TLOTR
What about the ones that require them alive? Lol the Razorchrest had 5-10 frozen bounties at a time alive to turn in so it’s a step back for his job regardless. If definitely limits the types of bounties he can accept.
I'm thinking the armour piece for Grogu is chainmail. I think we won't see him visit Grogu here; that will happen in the next season of The Mandalorian. His thing seems to be fighting against the Dark Saber, so I think his strategy of giving up the sword to opponents and then winning against them may develop, then again, he may come to master it. I'm excited to see the rest of The Book of Boba and also the next season of The Madalorian!
One question about Boba's flashbacks: How did he recover his armor? I think the season finale will be very open-ended, and the rest of Boba's war against the Pikes will be in season 3 of The Mandalorian. Maybe Grogu and (a recast) Luke might even help against the spice-runners.
Just had a thought, at the end of Mando season 2, there was a lot of speculation if Grogou died to Kylo Ren, but maybe this episode is setting up the explanation on him surviving it, since he will have some beskar armor from Mando?
DETAIL: The liquid the Armorer adds to the water to quench the Beskar is probably from the Living Waters in Mandalore. Watch him journey there and bring it back for her. PS: Calling it now. Grogu is gonna be bullying a teen Kylo Ren at Jedi school.
I think Din get himself beskar chain-armor underneath that beskar plate armor. It the only reason why Paz Vizsla vibration dagger did not go through the gab between beskar armor. we saw him jab Din right between the armor but it just did not go through. And maybe Din can get the tip from Luke on how to use the dark saber. this weapon is literally the weapon that specifically don't allow anyone to just use it like Jedi or Sith light saber. This weapon is the type of weapon that will get it wielder kill if you cannot master it.
weird thought what if by frriend he meant Cobb Vanth instead of Grogu. Its a shot in the dark but I feel like they would wait to show Grogu in S3 of the mandalorean.
Din might be able to carry one passenger because it looks like Peli converted the astromech station into a passenger compartment. It looks rather tight though.
Din can put prisoners in the Droid Port that Pele' gutted out if he needs to transport a live person in a pinch Im guessing. But I doubt he will be doing much bountyhunting in Season 3. Political machinations and war GOT style is what Im hoping for. Grogu's gift looked like Chainmail to me, like Bilbo Baggins' Mithril armor for a LOTR connection.
I do appreciate that Jon Favreau doesn’t string these teases along. Mentioned Ashoka Tano, there she is at the start of the Jedi episode. Play Mando’s music at the end of last episode, gives us a whole episode of Mando doing Mando stuff. Every five minutes, I kept going ‘get the fuck out of here’. They went HARD with this episode. If that isn’t a beskar ball for Grogu to bounce off people heads, I don’t know what else it would be.
So it seems a lot happened between Mandalorian Season 2 and The Book of Boba Fett. I thought Din was still gonna be on Moth Gideon's Cruiser with the others.
Whatever the Beskar spear turn into that Din Djarin is going to give it to Grogu, it's going to protect our baby Yoda from being slaughtered by Kylo Ren.
