Regarding Favreau's comments on the timeline, there actually do seem to be some contradictions! In one interview with Startalkers, he does say that they spent "two years apart" however in his io9 interview which was the one I read, he says it's been "The two years between when the last episode aired of season two and [now]," season 3. So, who knows? Either way, time has passed on they are back!
It's not. Season 2 ends with Luke taking Grogu, 2 years passes and Season 3 starts with Grogu with Mando. And somewhere during this 2 years gap Book of the Boba Fett happens which includes Mando taking Grogu back.
@@LukiKruki That's what I said and that's what the io9 interview says, but like I said, he also said in the say day in a different interview that they were separated for two years.
He did said when asked again during the premiere that there is a timespan of less than 2 years between the time that Grogu stayed with Luke unti he decided to go back to Din.
Grogu wasn't actually trying to eat him. He thought the Anzellan was a little pet that he wanted to cuddle and squeeze - Din told him "he's not a pet" and the Anzellan said "No squeezy!". That last part killed me lol
I have updated my personal proximity alert to "No touchy! No squeezy!" Edit: At first I thought the Armorer was making a wok 😅(Yes, I was hungry. It airs 3am here)
Great reaction! You're one of the few reactors I follow who does the perfect blend of reacting to what's happen and talking to us. Like you, I also thought the opening was a flashback which made me re-think how old I thought the Armorer and Paz Visla were. Then when Mando appeared I cheered so loud. I had a ridiculous grin on my face. I agree that Din's belief could change in terms of seeing non-masking Mandolarians as not real Mandolarians but I don't necessarily see anything wrong with Mando's belief system and other than that one critical aspect that could help unite the Mandolarians, I don't think he should. He lives by a creed that he upholds, is respectful toward others, etc. And his personal stake is he's accepted his role as Grogu's dad and he wants to raise him that way and we see that in the moments in the ship. Before The Mandolarian, I liked Star Wars but since this show premiered, I'm loving all of the Star Wars content and learning more about this universe.
The armorer has been to Mandalore. That special liquid she uses is Water from the mines of Mandalore and I think it is special. I think she doesn't want Mando to see something down there in the Ruins.
Bo Katan is having her own pity party. From the previews we know that they get together. I am so excited to see where this goes. I really enjoy your site.
it was a great night for Star Wars creatures.. foranyone who didn't watch the bad batch make sure you do , someone's back .. and purrgil Being shown in live action In hyper space was the biggest cool moment In this episode.. the way they did it ,,was perfect making it ominous But not giving it all the way at once to people who dont understand what it was.. Man I can't wait to see Ezra and thrawn.. And we all know who else is going to show up soon ,,,hopefully we don't have to wait till the end of the year...
I honestly didn’t want this episode to end. it was a ride from beginning to end and I think this season is set-up to be one of the best yet. also, I’m pretty sure Grogu wasn’t trying to eat him; he was just trying to cuddle him! hehe ❤
I hope Din this season will find his own Way to unite his people.Scene with the Mandalorians fighting the monster and Grogu looking at purrgils in the hyperspace were the highlights for me,great start of the new season :)
Favreau did say that there will be a timejump from the last time we saw Din and Grogu from BOBF up to now in Chapter 17. So, your interpretation of the 2 years timeline makes a lot of sense actually. That’s also how I took it initially when I first heard the roundtable interview with Skytalkers. But we all know how the internet works, people will be upset still as long as they want to be upset. 😂
They said the memory circuit was damaged not storage in ig11 so memories are there but can't be accessed because of the damaged circuit, that was my take on it
I really liked the design for the Pirate Cruiser. Also it is just me or the pirate fighters were in the old Galaxy at War Gold Edition game, as part of Tyber Zann campaign? And the freaking purgils! 😁 Bo Katan turned into the quest giver: Find the mandalorian fleet, reunite the clans and retake Mandalore. Go Din! 🤣🤣🤣
He'll get to the waters and get redeem in the eyes of the cult. Once he does. He is recognized as their leader. He would order them a new code. Which allows them to take off their helmets. Lore wise only Mandalore were not allow to take off their helmets. It was meant as they are faceless Mandalorians. So anyone can be etc..
Dude! Watch "The Devil's Hour" its a really good show! And as always, Ty for the reactions... its good to have someone's opinion about something, when youre so lonely irl! ❤
Loved the episode only complaint it seemed to go way to fast lol but omg I’ve missed these characters especially our gorgeous little mischievous one Grogu he just makes me smile whenever I see him….
Yeah, that's kind of how I was interpreting it. He has his memories still stored somewhere, but the unit that's needed is what allows him to process and pull them back up again. Maybe?
is it just me, or did the pirate captain's voice remind anyone else of LeChuck from the Monkey Island series? I'm still not sure how I feel about the idea of trying to rebuild IG-11, but it could be interesting if we maybe see them delve into the whole lore behind IG-units...Which is pretty wild, assuming how much of that is even still cannon that is. As for the memory unit logic...Maybe it's more like...I donno, ram memory, vs disk drive type memory?
I'm glad that, out of all the Star Wars shows, the Mandalorian really emphasizes that humans aren't the dominant species, but one of many alien species in the vastness of space. I feel like Andor - and to a lesser extent, the Book of Boba Fett - fell short in that regard.
I think the memory unit thing is the memories are in there maybe in the core of the droid but the current unit can't access them. A bit like the Animus in Assassin's Creed. The info is there but can't be used
Was the crystal that Mando brought the Amorer not look like a Kyber crystal? Also how come Mando was able to kill IG with 1 shot in S1E1 but in this episode he fires multiple times and never did kill him?
All of these dire warnings about not going to the mines and the 'living waters' are starting to sound like fantasy quests, where only the 'hero' would ignore the danger and thus achieve the prize. Perhaps there really is 'magic' in the waters, and only a true believer can unlock it. Perhaps it's not even Mando, but Grogu who is the key?
If you want to see the Mandalorian season 3, you have to see episodes 5, 6 & 7 of "Book of Boba fett", so that the first episode of season 3, after the season 2 finale, makes sense. Or understands.
This episode was just OK for me. A lot of fluff, but good, harmless (and fun) fluff. It seems to me like they tried to pack in as many references & characters/creatures as possible-which is fine. I am all in, and look forward to see where this season goes.
Do we know where the bomb actually was on his body? I don't remember. Because if it was Torso Bomb Legs then the explosion would definitely throw the top half (all that we see remains of him) away from the lava.
