I respect and appreciate the work that went into making this record. I love Leonard (wherever he is...) and I respect Philip Glass even though I don't know all that much about him and his career - just songs I've heard. Unfortunately, I don't find this record enjoyable, at all. In fact, I can't even remember if I got through the entire record start to finish. It is certainly an original interpretation of Leonard's work and I'm glad some fans of Cohen's work enjoy it. It just doesn't work for me. Leonard's recording, which appears on the album "Thanks For The Dance", is typical Leonard Cohen. Slow where it needs to be. A bit aggressive at times as well. Sexy. I love it. For those who may not have heard it yet, I suggest you search for it on RU-vid immediately.
