Let's give Addie a round of applause for officially completing the ENTIRE Bourne trilogy with The Bourne Ultimatum (2007). 👏👏🎉🎉 This is another case of when the sequels keep getting better and better. I've only seen bits & pieces of this movie but hardly remember anything about it, so I plan on watching all three Bourne movies soon. Like I have with the first two movies, I also own this one on DVD in both Widescreen (2.39:1) & Full Screen (1.33:1) formats. @robertbryant4669

It was clever, but I wouldn't call it a Bourne move. Bourne's training was geared towards eliminating targets while minimizing exposure and collateral damage. Black Briar agents are apparently trained to eliminate targets regardless of exposure or collateral damage. They're more flashy, but at the same time it also makes them more expendable.

@blueroninstudios
@blueroninstudios 3 месяца назад
Probably one of the first characters in mainstream literature, but the book came out in the 70s, and those ideas aren't very new. There's subplots in several James Bond films and novels, and James Bond was created in the 1950s. Captain America is actually a superhero who was enhanced to a great degree and he came out in the 1940's, and he actually did operate as a spy when necesarry in some of those old comics.

Of course the action sequences and plot are really fantastic, but I think the movies are also so great because of the emotional content wrapped up in Bourne’s character (as well as the other agents, as we see with Clive Owen in the first movie and the assassin that ultimately refuses to shoot Bourne at the end of this movie). And because it is so well scripted and acted you really feel it. Without this emotional content the movies wouldn’t work anything like as well as they do.

Bourne submitted to the torture. He understood what was required of him. The brief said he had to be broken mentally and physically so he could be remade into Jason Bourne. All traces of David Webb had to be gone, including from his own memory. He was not unwilling in the process.

Heckuva lot of fun watching these reactions but it's _very_ much diminishing returns from here IMO. A nigh perfect ending (for me). Nicky's knowing smile, "Look at what they make you give", recreating the opening shot of 'The Bourne Identity' with a "body" in the water (but _now_ he emerges as David Webb) etc. Just really beautifully brought full circle as a complete narrative. Didn't need any more. (the way I always put it is, when doing press for this movie Matt Damon was asked if they'd do another to which he laughed and said something like "What would we call it, 'The Bourne Redundancy' ? No, the story's done" - I thought then, in 2007, that was one of the most astute, self-aware things i'd ever heard an actor say in an interview and having seen 'Jason Bourne', well, I _still_ think that :)

Nikki was farm-trained. In the first movie, Bourne and Conkin (I think) go face to face and when he says the man sent him to kill Wombosi The reply was "We can do that anytime we want. You should definitely watch *"Shooter" (2007)* with Mark Wahlberg. It's just as intense as these movie's. If not more so.

The Bourne Legacy with Jeremy Renner is actually good, you should watch that one too.

Sorry, Addie, but-I don't suppose that the REASON this is the BEST ONE YET, of the trilogy, is because the inimitable Daniel Brühl has that all-too-brief cameo as Marie's brother, hmm? ;)

Damonphiles will tell you to eshew THE BOURNE LEGACY with Jememy Renner. Don't! It's the best one! It is ocurring at the same time as ULTIMATUM and parts of that film are integrated into LEGACY. Masterfully done. The style is a bit different with more of a story. Blackbriar upgrade Outcome, and Outcome upgrade L---.

There is a continuity error. In IDENTITY, the Brazilian passport read Gilberto Du Piento, correctly in portuguese. Here they have changed it to Gilberto De Piento, incorrectly, in spanish(?).

You were Quire Hyped for this one. I feel like you'd like Red or The Whole Nine Yards if you like this. Spy Game is also good and a personal Favorite. The Recruit is also good. All CIA movies... which makes me think of another couple Jack Ryan movies like Clear and Present Danger and Enemy of the State.

Thanks for sharing your reaction to ,"The Bourne Ultimatum." I binged what was a trilogy about a decade ago - and like you, got drawn in from the beginning and invested in the character. Finding the first two movies free on RU-vid today, I launched back in. The only thing I remembered was the closing theme music and the doctor, played by Peter Finch, saying, "You came to us!" However, the third movie wasn't offered free. So, I saw your offering and truncated as the movie was, you showed enough for me to feel satisfied. And your commentary was exciting. Thank you!

The absolute best part of the original Bourne trilogy? Watching them again! Now that you know all the secrets, you'll pick up on all the subtle hints along the way from the first two movies! Not saying you need to do a second reaction, but watch them again sometime soon and prepare to have your mind blown, again! Also, one of the rare instances of sequels being better than the first. Right up there with Terminator 2 And Back To The Future II & III (In my opinion anyway) Keep up the good work! Really enjoy your content :)

If you like these movies, You’ll also like the first season of “REACHER”. The Tom Cruise movies where he p,has Jack Reacher are pretty good too, but he doesn’t really fit the book series description of Reacher at all.

17:00 Addie "I did not know that was possible..." Me: "I'm still not sure it is in real life." 🤣 28:55 that smile is one of my favourite parts of the entire Bourne series. This was "the end" for years. So "we" didn't know if Bourne would survive until the "smile" and the moving in the water. Heck we didn't know they would show him swimming off or if they'd leave it open. Another Adorable Addie Adventure, keep them coming Addie.

You really should read the books if you like the movies, the story is almost completely different, but still incredible. And after hearing you at the end excited about the story, please check out the Robert Ludlum books for at least the 3 movies you watched. you won't be disappointed.

As you are clearly a fan let me assure you that the other two Bourne movies are worth seeing. The original trilogy is unsurpassable but the 2 subsequent are also dense movies and Jeremy Renner is also fine as the Matt Damon substitute...

What a fantastic end to the original trilogy. The first three were very well done. Pretty sure they inspired future films that we enjoy today, that gritty one man vs everyone style thing. The following two "Bourne" movies are kinda meh.. The "Bourne Legacy" didn't even have Matt Damon in it, I honestly cannot even recall what the story entailed, it was pretty underwhelming. The 2016 movie "Jason Bourne" attempts to revive the franchise for one final romp, with a more modern twist on it. As a standalone action movie it isn't terrible, but they really stretch some stuff in that movie. Out of the two remaining, I'd say watch "Jason Bourne" if any. Even if you do it off camera. It was decently entertaining, and attempts to tie things up a tad. Nowhere near the caliber of the original 3 though.
