The pickle ornaments is actually a german tradition!!! The adult hides the pickle on the tree and on Christmas the littles have to find it!! I have such fond memories from that time when I was little
I don’t live in Germany but my mom lived there when she was little so we do the pickle thing and leave our shoes out the night before Dec 6th (I’m pretty sure that’s saint nicks day but I don’t totally remember)
You should check out the Northern lights tree we bought it this year and it's a little pricey at $1,000 but it's so fantastic it has fiber optic lights and it has so many different patterns and it's just the best tree we've ever seen 🎉🎉🎉🌲🌲🌲🪄🪄🪄
We have a pickle ornament on our tree every year. Our family looks forward to finding the hidden pickle and getting a prize. We have bought each of our adult kids one too. They enjoy this with their families too.
Tbh your so lucky you got to bring food to your dad, We brought food to my moms dad & the staff said we couldn’t and they threw the food away 3 hours later he passed away it was the worst thanksgiving of my life like we just wanted to eat all together cause we knew that, that was our last thanksgiving together.
