Born in Cudahy, I grew up in Franklin, moved to Milwaukee/Greenfield off Ramsey Ave. off 27th street, then moved to Greenfield off Edgerton Ave. off 51st street. For 30 years I lived in this city and while I made some BAD friend choices, I loved the city itself. The Brewers, Bucks, the Admirals. I lived across from a player who back in the 70's kicked butt! Got to go back into the locker room after they won! It was epic! My grandparents moved across the street from us when I was 3 or 4. It was such a great life. TV was a huge part even then. The AWA All-Star Wrestling on Saturday mornings followed by this show if I remember correctly? It was a blast. I was 7 or 8 playing Hot Wheels on the floor or with my Mego Superheroes figures and this 🎶music🎵 came on! Again EPIC! Thanks for the great memories!
Wow! Talk about memories... My family watched this show all of the time. Bowling was such a big deal back then. And Milwaukee was a family town. I was fifteen in 81. Joined the Army and did 27 years on active duty. Upon retiring I returned to a very different city. To bad... Anyway, thanks for the memories.
Suzie Petted, one of the competitors in this episode, worked in my grade school in West Allis, supervising us during lunch breaks. She was the sweetest woman.
Talk about fun memories, I used to love this show, back in the '70's and early '80's bowling was very popular in Milwaukee and I was team captain bowler and big fan of the bowling game show.
I only recently became aware of The Bowling Game (via RU-vid), and am saddened I did not get the chance to watch each and every episode of this television program. Thankful for what I can view on RU-vid. (Wish it was still on television being a fan of bowling programs - particularly the older programs.)
At the 36:00 mark, Lee says that your from Manistee Michigan one of the states on our cable network... anyone know what cable network Lee's referring to ir why the would be aired in Michigan? City
In Milwaukee, one of the promos have Saturday Night Live every day of the week on channel 18. Did WTMJ 4 air SNL on Saturday Nights? Unlike Detroit that WDIV (WWJ at the time) didn't air the first three seasons of SNL and aired it on WKBD 50, in Milwaukee the NBC morning game shows aired on WVTV instead of WTMJ. The other promos in this video featured were Barney Miller, The Muppet Show, Brewers Baseball, All In The Family, and Dance Fever. WVTV got the mirror ball presented by Bowser of Sha Na Na in the one commercial breaks which is in reference of Dancing With The Stars.
