@@SwordTune It's not cheap though. He himself retains all of the exhaustion and shit. So if he gets seriously wounded or dies, he'd be done for. Also the time travel shit is just a few seconds so he can't do much with it unless he's there at the moment of that shit happening.
@@SwordTune there’s limits to it. All the pain and damage he endures travels with him, so it’s not like he can get shot then travel back in time and be fine afterwards
@@NyangisKhan in game it’s for 4 seconds, but if you read his comic that came out when he released “Seconds”, he actually is able to go back up to 4 minutes, if not longer when he improves it more. They’ll probably change it in the show since obviously that would be a bit overpowered in some scenarios
I think that was the last time we ever saw Powder. Once Ekko busted out the stopwatch, Jinx smiled and started to play along, going back to their childhood days, even taking the same stance and firing the bullets in the same order. I am almost confident that in the end there, Jinx was actually ready to die with or without Ekko, while she could still feel like Powder. Unfortunately next time we see her, it's with purple eyes pumped full of Shimmer.
@@fanto860 he didn't kick it. His lower body would blast to pieces if he did. And power wouldn't have a near death situation. He most likely ran but couldn't escape the impact hence the broken leg
17:37 (I think) You're misunderstanding that scene, they showed Ekko and Jinx as kids because it was literally the game they played as kids, Powder winning those games cuz of her obvious skillful gunplay, then Ekko winning in real time cuz he grew up and got better.
I actually think you might misunderstand. There were two fights. Ekko can rewind time, so he got shot the first time, and reversed time to try again. They never say it in the show, but in League of Legends that is Ekko's power.
When Viktor accidentally activated the grenade timer he hesitated for a moment before cutting the wire. I think he was contemplating blowing him and Jayce up to prevent Hextech being used as weapons but ultimately decided not to. He even followed it up with saying "There is always a choice." He almost made the choice to end the misuse of Hextech right then and there.
@@seezar100 I mean, think about it. Why have the bomb almost explode. It makes no sense to just have it do that for no reason, that would just be bad writing. It would have to mean something a little deeper.
First time watching I thought it was echo who sent those firelight bombs too. Only later did I realize that Jinz did it out of revenge for Marcus lying about Vi. It is ironic that the one good thing that Marcus did (protect Vi) is the what he gets killed for.
@@darrel7493 I mean he protected his ass and threw her in prison for like 10 years to get beat up multiples time and left for dead and basically die and rot in a cell. Wouldnt call that "good" thing. True he saved her life on the moment but then he acted like a scumbag.
@@darrel7493 Marcus nvr protected Vi. He kidnapped her so he had a fall guy for the shit tht happened in act 1. So he was actually protecting his own ass.
The Ekko vs Jinx fight was top tier, it felt like battling her like he did in their childhood was his own way of trying to reach out to her. Also idk if you guys noticed but the doctor who Viktor visited that made Shimmer was also the same doctor who made the serum for Silco back in the early episodes. That's why his face is burnt after that entire factor blew up because of Powder.
"She'll Come to You, When she's Ready" - 6:17 This was probably the nicest thing and the closest way Savika can ever understand or emphasize with Jinx..... It actually sorta surprised me that there was some level of tenderness underneath all that.....
Yeah I love how all the characters are complex. I mean, Sevika is clearly not a fan of jinx, but jinx grew up around her. She may find her annoying and troublesome, but she knows her very well regardless.
Fr, fr I thought she just was saying it cuz she's absolutely the ultimate Silko dickrider BUT she clearly empathizes with Jinx and most of the undercity. She's still a piece of shit, don't get me wrong, but she's got true ambitions and sensitivity. Makes me respect the character much more.
9:45 I still can't get over how fucking cool that scene is. Really hammers home that Silco is not just some petty crimelord - this man lives, breathes and bleeds Zaun. Literally, sometimes.
@@dinomiah Yeah, and I initially assumed that his breakdown at the end of episode 6 will be the start of a downward spiral. Guess he just needed to get that out of his system.
Someone pointed out in a comment that made me tear up. They said Jinx dropped that bomb, because Ekko brought Powder back with the kid game they played. She wanted to die as Powder and she wanted to do it with Ekko, the only person who didn’t abandon her. Even in their fight, he turned it into their game.
You know how alone ekko had to be after that whole explosion in act 1? I’m surprised he didn’t turn out way more evil considering no of his friends were alive, or even around💀💀💀that’s why ekko the 🐐🐐🐐
Clarification: the Ekko Jinx fight was showing how they used to play as kids. Ekko as a kid got hit by Jinx, but Ekko grown up knew how to avoid Jinx's attacks based on his experience with her and knowing how she shoots. That's why he didn't get hit at the end.
my favorite champ will not ne shown even in season 2 cause he doesn't have much to do with zaun or piltover, maybe season 3 will incorporate the Freljord so i can have him in arcane also.
Ekko hit the grenade before it explode (you can hear the sound of a metallic object hitting another metallic object a second before the grenade explode). The writers are not stupid enough to think we would believe an explosion like this wouldn't blast the life out of Ekko and Jinx. And believe it or not but Jinx actually wanted to die at this moment, she's just tired at this point.
I’m tryna figure out how Caitlyn survived that explosion in episode 4 that took out 6 officers while she seemed barely injured and she was very close to the epicenter
Ekko actually stopped punching Jinx cuz back in the day Ekko had a crush on her. He even has a voice line in-game where he says: "I had a crush, until you started talking to the gun."
I think that Silco genuinely believes that Vi and Caitlyn don't care about Jinx and only care about the gemstone. He feels like they both were betrayed and they can only trust each other, so he doesn't want Jinx to be hurt again. Although it's not entirely correct, he believes he has her best interest in mind.
This is true. Also why he doesn’t look into Vi further. Who wouldn’t think that she was obliterated when her two friends were? There was no trace of Vi and It would make sense for Vander to escape and die. I think he was trying to protect her by not looking into it knowing her trauma
Well they actually dont care about Jinx. They wanted powder. Silco wants Jinx, not powder. So in a way, Silco is right. The moment Vi learns that she will never be powder is the moment she'll be casted away.
@@TheNecroFisherman I mean he knows that she didn´t die in the explosion. She couldn´t have "betrayed" Powder if she did. He knows that at the very least she walked away alive, even if she could have been mortally wounded and died later. And it also wouldn´t make sense to blaim Marcus for her being alive, if he had thought she died in the fire. The only thing that would make him think that she is dead, is taking Markus´s word, that he took care of her.
I think it's most accurate to say that he himself doesn't want to be hurt again and he considers her an extension of himself and a validation of his feelings. So he's being genuine, but he's unaware of that his issues have his perspective way more skewed than he can begin to realize
I think Jinx always sees Mylo because the moment when Vi left her was *very* impactful on her psyche. "Because you're a jinx. Mylo was right." That's why Mylo always talks to her.
I have high hopes he'll get more time to shine in S2. The creation of his time-travel thingy is a huge part of his character and I'd bet there will be a lot more on that then.
@@solcrac9445 After Heimerdinger "saved" Ekko you have a scene with both of them talking and looking like working on new stuff. He's def gonna show up in S2 because Heimerdinger plus him are kinda key character in the show and also playable character. That's why I'm not afraid Vi, Jinx, Jayce or Viktor will die cause they simply can't, even if they are in a crazy situation like the last scene from episode 9.
i don't get why people (such as lupa) would root for characters such as harley quinn and loki, who had done WAY WORST THINGS than jinx. like the only reason you felt that jinx is so unforgivable, is because this series shows jinx' actions in such a more personal way compared to previous characters that i mentioned. you laugh at loki making jokes, whilst in reality he's killed like thousands of people probably from that new york attack alone.
Srsly, Jinx has done terrible shit but her reasons for it are just as good if not better than the characters you mentioned. Loki is legit just jealous and Harley was tortured in her twenties, on the other hand Jinx had a major trauma as a child, lost all of her family AGAIN and was then raised to be a terrorist, I mean.......
because no one is trying to fix harley or loki people are trying to fix Jinx and he thinks she isnt redeemable ( you know cause she has the highest body count in the show even more then actual mad scientists) so i think its fair he thinks that way
@@balls3583 yeah but who fucking cares. She’s a fictional character not your damn friend. He can hate on her all he wants cuz guess what, she’s evil and stupid. Don’t care what sob story she has. Lupa is salty 🤣 but yeah jinx WAS a child but her recent actions justifies that she is a criminal now, sadly people change and that is exactly what happened to jinx and at this point i just hope somehow Vi's relationship with her can be saved one way or another.
@@ximienlundquist8487 fr, I love the homie but he got some double standards out here lmao. He's ok with harley quinn and Sakura matou from fate (Who has similar circumstances as jinx) yet he craps on jinx and only jinx. Not saying harley and Sakura are bad characters tho

Just because you made a bomb and it accidentally killed all your friends and half your family and it fucked you up when you were a kid doesn’t give you a get out of jail free card to become a manic terrorist. Nor doesn’t exempt you of judgement that people have of you and your lack good decisions making.
ya’ll don’t understand nuance when it comes to characters and it shows, no one’s justifying jinx’s actions, they’re only explaining to you the reason why she’s doing this is bc of trauma. ya’ll rly gotta stop looking at things through a black or white morality, especially in shows like this where they take the effort to show you that not every character is either good or evil, theres a grey area mixed in with it as well
Nah fr Lupa still not understanding that is really disappointing to me. Obviously he doesn’t have to like the character but she does have trauma that was never dealt with and was only made worse by Silco.
This show is so great because it show what traumas can do, and not only for Jinx. Heck, id'say that the show is legendary, it allow his characters to fail because of their virtues, and not because of their mistakes.
There's a certain type of person that believes if you try and understand WHY a person does things, it means you're justifying their actions and don't think they're wrong.
Just to be clear, Viktor did not make any weapons, they made tools. Those items are supposed to help manual workers have an easy time with their work because that's what Hextech is for the both of them. To help the lower class and for Viktor specifically, to help the Undercity. Of course like all tools, they just can be weaponized and with Arcane, it'll be a pretty nasty weapon.
Cant believe they had to explain to this dude whats wrong with a child 7? who lost her parents and everyone she cared for in moments, to be abandoned at that point to deal with the guilt and pain. To have to explain how that could mold you into the well written character she is now. She has some serious mental health issues, that is rarely written this way. Have to give them more credit for doing it in an animated show. That teenage girl has only known violence.
As someone who's learning how to draw right now so I can start doing animation, that fight scene literally made me tear up, like bro!!!! Arcane just set the standard for Western animation🔥🔥🔥🔥
Love that nice touch in the scene between silco and jinx. Like we see silco be ruthless to those thugs and keeping them in check but with jinx he is passive and tries to talk out with her. The other thing was how he was struggling to take the dip on his eye because jinx has been doing it for him for a long time. He trusts her to do it for him for a long time now.
lupa clearly hasn’t read and understood the comments. no one said jinx’s actions were right, we’re just saying you can’t act as if she’s a fully functioning adult with a clear delineation between right and wrong. her past trauma has screwed up her psyche and directly affects her actions in the present. i just want him to acknowledge that instead of acting like she’s the worst person in the world; especially when he’s rooted for way worse people.
The fact that you know about Jinx's fucked past, you can sympathize for her actions. But you can't agree or support her actions. What's wrong with calling her criminal?
@@tranductinh2742 not a thing’s wrong with it; jinx is a criminal. period. my issue is with the fact that he seems to equate her crimes now to the accident she caused when she was a child. yes, the explosion was technically powder’s fault but lupa talks about the incident as if it was caused by an adult who knew better instead of a kid. that’s what’s pissing me off.
This is one of the scenes that’s so heartbreaking. Childhood friends on opposing sides. As soon as the watch swings and they revert back to their younger selves. ✊
jinx is a broken character her actions aren't supposed to be justified but it is the result of her trauma and mental issues. the show is not asking you to justify all the crap that jinx did, the show is asking you to sympathize and understand that she's going through a lot. this show is amazing because it gives light to the fact that people with mental issues or trauma needs help and that is why we should both sympathize and empathize. that's the beauty of media, we can all form our thoughts and opinions, i just wanted to share my pov this episode was crazy ekko is built diff
I don't think anyone would have any sympathy for a muderer and serial killer if such a person existed in real life. I think you're making a lot of assumptions about what the show is supposedly 'preaching' when I don't think the show isn't preaching anything at all. There's a quite a difference between prescription and description. Jinx is a young girl that is highly emotional, highly immature, mentally unstable, severely traumatized, and is on a killing spree as a result. Ooof I think you're reaching
@@ChyeahWill I can guarantee that there are at least a few million people that have enough maturity and intelligence to show empathy towards real-life broken people like Jinx. Just because you are close-minded and prefer reducing someone's entire existence to labels like "Muderer" and "serial killer" instead of attempting to understand WHY such a person became so broken and unstable (which in Jinx's case all you need to do is watch the fucking show and use your brain) doesn't mean that everyone else in the world shares your opinion. Like seriously, if you shared your take with a therapist, or a psychologist, or anyone who works in the mental health industry they would instantly think you were an idiot.
A lot of ppl overlooked the beginning of Jinx vs Ekko scene where Ekko took out the watch and jinx was like "hah" she hahed because she realized the firelight she fought on the airship in ep 4 was Ekko its the little details bro 🔥🔥
Like I rewatched it. When ekko beats her and stops, it’s bc he sees powder not Jinx. And i think in that moment she was, she just wanted to die at that point. Bc she knows that she’s changed too much. She pulled the grenade. Chilling..
Wow, Roshi, I totaly notice the changes in today's edit. The new set-up is NICE! I hope you all are taking breaks though! You spoil us too much and I wouldn't want you all to get burned out. As always, I love the content!!
What I'm getting from Jinx is that she has been having phychotic episodes and she probably suffers from schizophrenia. There are a lot of symptoms alluding to that, most noticeably the hallucinations and delusions. When serious harm is done because of one's mental conditions it cannot be excused, because it cannot be undone, but we get insight into how they ended up behaving that way, making such decisions, choices, taking such actions, or lack thereof.
Hello Editor, I haven't finished the video yet but the edit with their name tags, current reaction shows, and schedule are SUPER GOOD! Great job cause it looks clean as hell!
for Mister Lupa. Would you really treat an 10 year old stealing a phone the same way you would treat an 21 or even a 18 y/o stealing a phone? Would you really treat a screw up by a 10 y/o the same way you would a 21 y/o ? If so props to you for keeping this consistent. But if my baby sister screws up shes just a child, if i screw up im getting the belt .
It’s wild how they repeatedly acknowledge the amount of trauma and PTSD Powder has but very quickly clown on her for being irrational as a result of that
Lupa needs to chill on the stubbornness and listen. I don't understand why some people choose to be this difficult to Jinx's situation when they have a front row seat into her psyche to understand her problems.
I love the scene when jayce said to viktor that they have no chiice and viktor made a choice to either cut the wire or not on jinx bomb then he told jayce that there is always a choice
Ekko has got to have his moment next season i hope. His entire character is about making the absolute most of the situations youre in the first time around. His stopwatch, counting seconds. Learning from the first time you go through something. His entire theme is about time and using your experiences and learning from them. He was always watching and learning about the people he fights. Hes the last dude you want a rematch with.
I gotta say after watching this episode ekko became my fav character in the show, wish we’d got to see more of him in action and this was definitely my favorite fight in the show, also they should have explored the ekko and powder moments a little more imo
I totally love powder and I feel for her so much. I wish people wouldn’t make jokes about it. She’s done some messed up stuff since she became jinx but I still feel for her. Also ekko is dope. So many characters in this show are awesome.
You only love powder because she's a fictional character. If someone like this existed in real life you would be hard pressed to 'love and feel for her'. Weirdo
I love how proud dude is of himself when the whole audience and even the other 2 people on the couch lookin at him like he's to dumb to understand lmao... "Moving on"
The "moving on" part sounded really childish, like he was looking to end the discussion before somebody told him something reasonable. Which Roshi did by the way, in a polite and friendly manner.
The fight scene with ekko and jinx was them fighting like how they use to play when they were kids. That’s why jinx and ekko were smiling bc they were playing the old game they used to play as kids and powder would always win. And then it snapped back to reality and it showed ekko winning for the first time but this time it was for real.
11:25 so details on shimmer. Shimmer is basically in simple turns a dosed up captain America super solder serum. Small traces like a drop is enough to heal wounds or infections. So silco his eye is infected since that day vander tried to drown him. So that just a small drop is enough to keep the chemical poison ag bay. When pierce surface of his eye the shimmer also instantly heals it. From last act when Caitlin got the medicine for vi it’s mainly water but a drop of shimmer is enough to mix with it and heal vi quickly. Note on this next part: not sure if spoiler do to we have zero clue if this characters appears at all in s2. There is a character that calls himself Dr. Mundo. He was able to find a way to keep the effects of shimmer within the body without dissipating or require a new dose like you see for ppl that keep taking if and become addicted/deformed. He basically is the hulk if he was purple and bit dumb. He talks like “huh? Mundo should open door? Nah mundo push door (proceeds to punch through it and instead of grab doorknob he just walks through breaking door and crushing doorframe) see mundo smart. Mundo know door works.” Pretty much.
lol this is super late but the rap intro's lyrics is actually what ekko is trying to achieve with the firelights. He is the only character that didn't have a flashback during the intro. While Vi has been stuck in the past, Silco, Cait, Jayce and etc working on the future (for progress and etc.) Ekko is the only one actually doing something in the present. He is helping people that needs help now. In the rap, he said he "declares war on anybody standing in the way of what I dream for..." that's why he goes against silco and piltover, he is neither in the good side or bad side, but anybody that is against what he is trying to achieve. lol i just want to say that the rap wasn't random. P.S Ekko is also part of the group true damage (it's a skinline) and they have 1 song called giants and he raps(well its actually thutmose and duckwrth). you def have to check it out when you can.
Coming into this knowing Lupa gonna upset me with his opinions towards Jinx and I'm gonna ignore that. Now that I've done that let me enjoy Sheera and Roshi's reactions. P.S this doesn't mean I hate Lupa I usually enjoy his reactions however for this series we've been disagreeing and that's ok EDIT: I wasn't upset with lupa today (I take it back)
I love Lupa man, but Its like he has a grudge against her character and everything she does is annoying. The part where he just kept repeating "but shes just a kid, right?" was so aggravating.
Lupa has a point though. Jinx is insane and it's reasonable to dislike someone as crazy as her. Yet there are people who seem to think it's okay cause she's traumatized. There's a limit to that pity and she crossed that line way back in episode 4.
@@joelsantos662 My problem is just that he acts as if people defend the bad stuff she does, and makes a point to hate on her, which gets really annoying. Jinx is a bad person but in no way a bad character, and i can see that lupa just isn't amused by her development. Anyways, to each their own, can't please everyone.
So what they did with Jinx vs Ekko was show how as children Ekko lost during that game, and now that they’re older he knew Jinx would fire the same pattern she did when they were kids, so he moved his body accordingly to avoid losing again.
18:30 so some details. 1. If havnt seen the imagine dragons Enemy music video for arcane it’s a semi prequel that showed life for vi, powder and the other kids before the arcane show. Powder and Ekko would hang out and play often when they were kids since they are about the same age vs vi and the other older kids. 2. In the game and background lore it implies Ekko legit had a crush on her when they were kids or on jinx side she mentions she once had a boyfriend but she say it like in a joking way. So that scenes shows despite the things she done and him knowing full well on it he hesitated with remembering the time they were kids and deep down he still have some feelings for her. Majority of characters here if didn’t notice have some form of trauma from the past including Ekko.
I know it's been awhile but small detail from the fight. She did throw grenades and stuff to everyone the whole show. Here she could have sticked this one on his vest or anything so he couldn't escape it. But she released it. He could dodge it but she couldn't. She tried to suicide here. Hence the little smile she does just before handing the grenade. What a cool character design
Lupaaa I’m going to need for you to understand how child trauma works and view Powder from a less dense psychological perspective 😭. All of these characters are very fleshed out with multiple facets to them, she’s not just same basic villainous that came from nowhere.
Ekko always had that punk genius aesthetic, from his other skins from the game and even the music videos. Yall should check out the True Damage - Giants music video. Another thing that makes it even more sad is the fact theres a voiceline in League of Legends between Ekko and Jinx, where he says "I used to have a crush, till you started talking to the gun."
The fightscene between ekko and jinx where it shows theyre flashback playing that gun and sword game was so dope. And then thats why ekko predicted all the bullet trajectory, because they were playing the game since they were kids.
