Monique also lost MM to the superhero shit too bc he couldn't get over his obsession with Soldier Boy. so that's 2 people she's loved and lost- doesn't want to loose her daughter too.
@@ZetsuboNoShima She made him feel like he didn't exist, so it makes sense to me that him being able to go through walls and things reflects that, as if he doesn't physically exist.
Loved MM's call back from the first season " I'm a mother f****r with a heart, you're just a mother f****r" Now saying Butcher is a mother f****r with a heart
I lost my father not too long ago and I am a huge life-long fan of Simon Pegg so you'd think I'd be bawling my eyes out but instead I was just filled with joy appreciating an actor I love prove why he's deserving of the love I give him by crushing TF out of every scene he was in. My sadness is that we didn't get more of him throughout this show and that now we have seen him for the last time 😥
Homelander was very sly with the way he parented Ryan in this episode. He was nice to him, he let him make his own decisions and he made it clear that he supported his decisions. He knows Ryan is not okay with hurting just any humans but he knows he can let out Ryan’s mean streak by having him think he’s helping people and punishing bad people who deserve it. Homelander thinks this can lead to Ryan being like him but I don’t think that’s going to happen. I don’t think this relationship dynamic we saw in his episode will last long. They will be at odds.
I could see Homelander trying to use Ryan's sense or justice to turn him against Butcher by showing him how worthy of punishment Butcher is, but I could also see it failing, with Ryan turning on Homelander after realising how evil he is
The scary part of Ryan and Homelander’s scene was him just playing with those 2 like toys. That producer absolutely deserved to have his shit rocked, but Ryan was smashing one doll into another there like he’s god.
All the B horror stuff, and that crazy rampage through the hospital, I wasn't prepared for that scene at the end. That's what makes The Boys great. They balance the over the top gore and comedy with genuine character drama. Kudos to,all three actors. Emmy, anyone?
I teared up during the parts of Frenchie talking starlight and turning himself in. The way you can see it he guilt in his face in both scenes. But definitely cried during the Hugh and Hughie death scene. I was so afraid for hughies mom and felt ad how Hugh was accidentally killing people.
43:38 you were the only person I've seen react to this episode so far (you're my 4th reaction so far) that immediately asked the same question I did when Homelander said to Ryan that he wanted them to be the only two people on the planet, my mind immediately thought, "What if Ryan had said, 'What about Butcher?'" seeing as how Ryan spending time with him caused him to throw a lamp across the room. Maybe we'll see next episode. 😊
I also think it's interesting Hughie Sr. has like half the ability of Hughie Jr. On V....He can phase, but REALLY has no control, and the brain dead thing didn't help.
The Ryan and homelander scene was intense, man Simon peggs was amazing I cried, I honestly think the thing that was coming out of the bunny is what butcher has inside of him and killed Ezekiel, notice Newman husband eyes when butcher looks at joe like he isn’t there and that smile tho
I think Dr. Shaw's look at "Joe" was the first clear indicator that he's not really there. We've never seen him interact with anyone but Butcher, now Shaw seems completely lost when Butcher addresses Joe because to him Butcher was talking to thin air
This has been a more transcendental and emotional episode and on a more unexpected level in a way... diabolical.😭😭👏👏 And now with the gen v cameo. And A-train being seen by Sage, gives the impression that he is the traitor from before when he was from Vought. And Sage will go to Homelander and blame him, and his possible death. And I fear for him. Literal.
Frenchie said he was worried kimiko would hate him but more worried she wouldn’t ? I was confused at first so that means he wants her to hate him because he feels he deserves it, because he hates himself...
I was bawling like a baby when they had to put down Hugh. Personally this was one of my fav eps. The character development for everyone was so cool to see! And I'm so excited to see more from you! Also i totally think Jeffrey Dean Morgan is a figment of his imagination like Becca!
Jeffrey Dean Morgan has to be a figment of Butcher's imagination, they're being more and more blatant with it. Not just that nobody but Butcher ever interacts with him in any way, but also that scene where he (who again, has never been shown to interact with any of them) talks to Butcher about what the other members of the team are like. Not in a "CIA dude who read their file" way, but in a way that he actually knows what they're like as people. If I had to guess, before the end of the season there will be a scene showing that the actual person Butcher is imagining died long ago.
You're the only other person I've seen mention those specific lines which was my exact thought. Just struck me as thats exactly what Butcher thinks of them all then that look with Sameer at the end solidified it.
That would be a really lame reveal, they already did a fake Becca earlier this same season. Hopefully we get Butcher having to fight him once they disagree on some major course of action.
A ton of people were saying Episode 4 was phenomenal, but for me, this episode was SO much better. All plotlines had me hooked and emotionally invested. Hell, Simon Pegg almost got me crying!
What I love about the Training A Train trailer is that it implies the hero is the white trainer played by Will Ferrell. Because Vought never really loses that racist strain within it. It just hides it better.
@Omn1Media I still wonder to this day if Stan Edgar has some sort of powers from compound V(just because all these seasons no supes have ever tried to kill him at all and since he did raise Neuman) He has been around vought since the company first started. That would be a great twist for this season or for the final season. just my opinion
Homelander using Ryan to Punish a man in Power abusing it around a colleague is pretty damn hypocritical knowing how Ryan was brought this world. RIP Becca
1:42 There’s a lot of Marvel/DC references here but the first one I noticed was the movie title “G2 G-Men” which is obviously a reference to X2 X-Men United.
Honestly I think this episode Sage is realizing she’s losing favor in the Seven, just like A-Train said she isn’t smart enough to know when to stop and I think that’s coming to fruition and she’s starting to realize that. We see her get no response from Homelander at the beginning and her interaction with Firecracker didn’t seem to go as planned. I have a feeling by the end of the season Sage will be killed by some of the Seven for plotting around too much.
I can't imagine what would happen to A-train and Ashley if Tek Knight found out about their plots cuz we saw Sage showing him something on her note, man they're gonna be so done.
What’s funny is I got distracted when hughie was talking about his pet jar jar so when his dad said he didn’t want to be like jar jar I was like I don’t know why that’s relevant but me neither
I watch a few different Reactors' reactions to "The Boys", and I go alphabetically every day when I get home from work. I'm glad Omn1 is popping this particularly bloody cherry today, since he's my favourite Ted Lasso Reactor (and Ted Lasso is the only other series from the last several years that I love as much as this one). While not really as disturbing as, for instance, Termite's Urethra Sneeze (or Homelander cooking Frank last episode), this one has some of the most outlandishly creative violence I've ever witnessed...truly Diabolical. Also, if the original "Animal Farm" was this good, I might've gotten better than a "C" on my book report.
6:38 How DARE Vought blaspheme the Holy Name of Sarah McLachlan for this celebration of evil!😁 Still kinda serious, though.🤨 19:57 Right from the beginning of this episode, I was saying "Tell him before something bad happens". I'm starting to think they can't hear me.🤔 Also, this is bloody tragic.😢 22:41 Been waiting for something bad to happen to this absolute douche-canoe since his first appearance. Looking forward to much worse. ☠ 32:55 The speed with which the violent sound effects go from "crunchy" to "squishy" is yet another example of this shows dedication to disturbing us.🥃👍 33:42 Still not clear on this. Hugh is a Supe, and outside of "The Virus", what kills Supes? Unless Hughie just put him back into a coma...🤔
No, Translucent was also bulletproof but that's not the superpower that puts you at the top of the foodchain. Homelander is superhuman on the inside too.
Jack Quaid's acting was a bit weak in the scene where Hughie killed his dad. For a guy who just killed his dad, he doesn't really emote with conviction that he's really sad that he's gone + him being the one to kill him. The actor looks like he's trying to force out the emotions, and you can really see they try to salvage the whole thing by having the other actress (mom) hug him so we can't see more of his face.
Thinking that Butcher's old mate is a hallucination from the V - perhaps the urge of the V-tumour-worm things to keep doing gnarly shit, kinda like venom? The scientist totally looked puzzled as to who Butcher was talking to Also, butcher is suddenly not hobbling around and coughing or puking any more. He looks almost entirely back to normal after the (presumed worm explosion into ezekiel) edit : but seriously what is it about V that causes animals to go fucking psycho?
Disney is actually doing the thing of the "different audience different particulars"... in Zootopia the speaker of the news changed according the localization of the cinema, in japanese cinemas it was racoon, in europe it was an reindeer, in usa it was a big feline...
I could be entirely wrong but since Gen V I don't think Neuman is exactly a bad guy. She's done bad things but almost evert character has. I mean, at this point do you trust Nueman or Sage?
All of their powers are limited by something, she used all of her energy popping that one since the outside was a hundred times more durable than the skin and flesh of a regular person.
man i love the bourke(the director) and cameron coleman. i hope they dont die. theyre really funny side characters. i was sweating for bourke when ryan and homelander were plotting something against him. he'll live through his PA's slaps. coleman though, yikes.
The scene with Homelander and Ryan was really, REALLY well done. One of the best scenes this show has had in years. And as awful as the whole subplot with Hughie has been this season, Simon Pegg was a true highlight. What a performance. That’s…literally it, for me. The good in this ep was really good. The rest? Jesus fcking Christ.
Hughie Was able to teleport and His father Could turn Intangible (And still have Clothes on) His Intangibility Had a Variation of Vibration/Phase shifting inside of People. (IE intangible into someone Then turning Semi solid and Vibrating In and Out off Being Tangible. Like a Egg beater/Mixer Turning that Persons inside's to Mush??yuck! Or Just pulling a Single organ or 3 out Like a Surgery from Nightmare land! This Episode was Super Gripping and Simon Pegg made me Feel every bit of emotional weight. Top notch Acting! But I still do not fully Trust Hughie's Mom???Why would she Just give compound -V To her Husband after His Brain was through a stroke? Or , Give Him ''V'' at all ??? SUS! What Game is ''Sage '' Playing...Does she have Beef with Vought ? if so, That speech about ''Like Caesar'' In episode One. Will probably Foreshadow Sage's Real Plans! Plus.. ( Sage Taking Over the Company She would Find out about the ''Wood's, Indira Sheety ,The Doctor's Virus and Any Vought's Many many Projects'', . Sage Talked to Tek Knight, Has Kept ''A-Trains'' Secret. Has the ''Deep'' and in powered him. Read Maeves Journal. Who knew Home Lander Better than Maeve did??? (What if Sage Has a Plan to Make the Virus to Poison Home Lander??) Home lander is in his own World Thinks he is in control and untouchable. I think Sage has 10 Plans going on all at once (Maybe to Play Both side's) And let them Destroy each other ??? Wow Cant Wait...
