Blake, Cujo, Corey, and Igil how come you haven't reacted to episodes 4x07 & 4x08 of "The Boys" ? The last upload was 3 weeks | 21 days ago on July 9th ?
I don’t know why they still don’t trust Hughie’s mother at this point. She has been straight with him and everything she told him was confirmed by Hugh Sr.
It's funny how you can tell which sets of reactors keep up with politics at all. There's like more than a dozen blatant political jokes this episode lol. I think they are pretty funny.
Apart from the shock value of this episode, it was pretty much a drag to watch. But the most effective way to defeat Homelander is milk. Milk is his kryptonite.
this episode was an allegory for 120 days of sodom, they even showed the lever to the tek cave being the book. obviously haven’t seen enough of the video to see if you guys caught onto that lol but a bunch of people miss it. it’s especially clear when they try to “torture” him with his own wealth and success, and how other superheroes knew what was going on down there and even payed for it
This season is unfortunately an absolute drag out and this episode was the highlight of it so far. What kind of progress has actually been made here? Not much. Instead, you watch Hughie spend half of the episode in the basement and Homelander is back where he has been several times before. Whenever they have worked to get him to go completely crazy, they downgrade him again by putting him at the side of a person who puts him on a leash again. We've seen that so often now that it's getting boring. Instead of story, there is more focus on disgust and all the references to politics and society were much better worked out in the first seasons. Every political side got something and it was written smarter. Now everything goes with the sledgehammer only in one direction. There you can clearly see the political views of the writers. Unfortunately, it's just annoying. There are still the good moments, of course, but they are becoming fewer. The story that has been advanced here would have been told in a maximum of 15 minutes. This has already become a pattern. The series has declined considerably.
The show has always made fun of the right wing. It also jokes about corporations exploitation of the left. The show was never making fun of left wing idealogy or ideas. It's just that certain people were too dense to realize what was going on.
The story is still there, as it has always been. You just miss it because you've probably only now been alerted to the fact that the show has always been laughing at the right wing, and now can't see nothing outside of it. This season has had huge character developement across the main cast, you failing to see it doesn't make the season "an absolute drag out".
