Coleman wasn't a good person in the slightest. But imagine the horror of dedicating your life and career to being the most loyal, supportive human ally of the Seven, one of the most important, only to be gagged, falsely accused, cuckholded and beaten to death by those very same people. And in your last moments, you don't even know why.
What makes this bad is Homelander can tell when someones lying. He knew Cameron was telling the truth, but wanted to use him anyway as a hazing ritual.
Homelander can only tell when someone is lying through bodily responses such as an elevated heartrate or differences in breathing. Cam probably exhibited “proof” of his lying because he was scared shitless.
@abdulazizibrahim7777 I mean, he is a pretty lazy guy when it comes to using his powers. Probably, when he saw proof and evidence, he didn't think it was necessary to really focus in and use his powers. That's the way his powers are presented in the show, small details like Edgars' heartbeat he has to focus in on, but a explosion in the general vicinity of him he can hear immediately. Its the same reason why he couldn't immediately kill Hughie his hearing was impaired from the singing and all the flashing lights overwhelmed his senses impairing his ability to focus. Doesn’t matter if you have x ray vision or be a human lie detector when your super senses can easilly overwhelm you.
Look all I’m saying is Cameron KNOWS that Ashley, as a human, obviously cannot be dominate over Supes in any way if they choose to not let her be. Not only that but Ashley CLEARLY has anger she releases on him (and others occasionally) as well as herself with her hair-pulling habit. Essentially, Cameron should have seen some kind of retaliation coming from a mile away as soon as he shut down quite literally the only outlet for all of her stress from working at Vought. I knew as soon as Cameron “dumped” her and got into it with The Deep that he was not long for this world.
I don't want to take the blame away from Ashley here. I always saw her as a Gray character, and the best of the worst if you will. But after she did this, she crossed a line that puts her down there with the other scumbags like the Deep
@@galacticgelatin.5990 She was clearly enjoying listening to Cameron getting killed in this scene though. She’s a sadist. I used to feel sorry for her but now she’s just as bad as the rest of the maniacs in Vought Tower
Firecracker is gonna takedown Sage.. Sage maybe smart but she’s arrogant and is gonna underestimate her. A-Train’s probably gonna conspire to have Sage removed.
The shot at everyone slowly approaching Cole is haunting. Like you are surrounded by a bunch of super beings who are ready to beat the shit out of you. And in the top of that you get mocked by Fuckin Deep.
@@anishthefish2439 Oh yeah definitely, I meant that Deep even brag about what he was going to do after beating himZ Maybe that was the best way to put it.
No shes not. Shes already given justification as to why she deserves to die, so the writers will kill her off. Eitherway shes a bugman. Deserves to be mulched
Right up until the last minutes of the last episode, when the danger has passed. She'll step on an undetonated landmine or get crushed by falling debris as one final bit of black comedy and a joke about her living through the entire series just to meet an ignominious and sudden end to random bullshit.
@rickyrhodes9008 i wouldnt mind that. Ill be honest i love the fact that she started off insufferable and then became a bully victim who is parhetic and pitiful. I hated her so much in season 1.
Don't even want him to get a redemption arc, but I do want him to have a threatening arc. I know he's meant to be a joke character at this point, but some actually effective showings of his powers would be nice. Like that scene in the water before with the sharks and whale, but without a punchline, and he actually gets something done.
Well this is fitting since Deep is a spineless supe and will bend over to whatever Homelander says. Even Homelander called him out on his cowardice the first episode where he doesnt refuse to blow A-Train and doesnt stand up to Homelander.
Sage and Homelander absolutely knew Cameron wasn't lying. He was telling the truth. They just needed to do this to confirm the rest of the team's loyalty.
While it's unclear if Homelander knows A-Train's the leak, Sage 100% does, but that begs the question, why hasn't she ratted him out yet, what does she have to gain from it?
@@MK-fm3ln Might be, every time he's had someone killed (His biggest fans, Anika and now Cole) she either flinches or at least not looks happy. Also doesn't help that she was blackmailed into joining the Seven, especially how they agreed she'd help him on the condition she wasn't forced to join.
It might be prudent to have him continue to work with MM as then they have an “in” with The Boys. With that she could use A-Train as an unknown spy (ie find a way to bug him without him knowing) or as a means to plant false intel (A Train reports “X” while Vought does “Y” without interference)
I think Homelander 100% does know A Train is the leak but just doesn’t care enough yet to proceed with going after him, I think he and Sage have both noticed A train’s lack of interest in killing when Homelander orders him too and are going to continue to test him in these kind of scenarios until A train snaps and retaliates against them.
My best guess is that homelander is finally practicing what he preaches about "supes shouldn't kill other supes" so that they can all be aligned to take over the U.S, or maybe he's doing it cause he wants a better world for ryan/supes. idk tho, still feel like he would've had no issue gutting A-train since he should definitely know about him taking the V. Maybe he's just too unhinged to care
Sage knows and probably thinks it’s more useful to have an “in” with The Boys than turning A Train over at the moment. She could secretly bug him or she could plant false intel that A-Train brings to MM that puts them on a wild goose chase or killed while Vought does something else.
I feel Homelander is the sort of person who would consider breaking A-Train's resistance more satisfying than just killing him. Him and the Deep are the last of the Seven, and I think their submission to him is psychologically satisfying.
I was so sad to find out this was the end of Coleman. I found his character hilarious, obviously a parody of some notable opinionated news anchors and his dynamic with Ashley was funny.
Honestly, I thought for a moment that A-Train in a moment of kindness was going to grab Coleman and run away from the tower. I think Homelander and Sage know about his betrayal but they want to test his mental state to the maximum.
With the way this show literally never holds back, it was unnerving to not see what they did to Cameron or his body after. Maybe they show it in the next episode but it was honestly more haunting to hear a character you’ve seen all 4 seasons get killed off screen like that.
Sister sage is the most clever woman in the world. No way she was outsmarted by Choo Choo and Baldie Girl. For what it is worth, I will miss Cameron Coleman. He was a good man and tried to remain independant and objetive in his work. He didn't deserve that.
@@magallanesagustin4952 And Microsoft, Electronic Arts, the Salvation Army ... all this corporation are evil, does that mean people working for them are evil ?
@@magallanesagustin4952 Anika wasn't an evil person. She was helping Starlight. Everyone at Vought isn't evil like Homelander and Ashley. They just making a living like everyone else.
this scene was such an amazing metaphor for how the show is going. The Seven beat Cameron Coleman (the best tucker carlson/fox news parody ever put to screen) to death and replaced him with firecracker (the laziest job at Alex jones possible), in much the same way that the showrunners have chosen to beat their own excellent sense of humor and satire to death and replace it with "right wingers are so stupid that they all believe in jewish space laser conspiracy theories lolol"
Yea he acts more like comic homelander now seeing as how we’re entering his final supe takeover arc it’s fitting I can’t wait to see butcher vs homelander in the Oval Office hopefully with a much better twist than clone noir
Kinda felt bad for him even tho he was cheating on his wife (since him and Ashley were messing around so I don't blame the Deep) but he didn't deserve to die especially getting beat to death by 6 different super humans
Tbh, it's pretty clear at this point that Sister Sage knows A-Train is the leak. I'm also inclined to believe she hasn't told anyone else, namely Homelander. If Sage told Homelander, A-train wouldn't be alive, period. He doesn't have the self control to let anyone that pisses him off live long enough to fulfill any type of plan. Sage has her own plans for A-train, possibly as some sort of contingency or scapegoat. Either way, it's a pretty safe bet A-Train is safe for now. If she wanted him dead he absolutely would be, and probably in one of the worst ways imaginable given Homelander's mental state.
This scene just gave me the vibe of “Okay this is the big meeting and now The Boys are gonna encounter each of these people 1 by 1 like boss battles” 😂😂😂
Sage is against homelander as soon as homelander forced himself inside her house, she has no choice but to help homelander. She knew A-train is the leak but still keeps quiet.
@@aaronatkinson177 if Batman can kill Superman and everyone else in the justice league, I’m sure he would have no problem wiping the floor with any of them lol
Cameron was a disgraceful reporter who acted as a sycophantic and smug propaganda machine for Vought. I personally don’t like him much. Also, the Supes probably killed Coleman and let Firecracker take his place as the face of their propaganda.
@@fungoidalRIP to one of the few great reporters with integrity, I'm sure the Seven will regret their actions, thought they thought it was justified, truly a tragic and saddening scene
amazing how much they brought us Gen-V-ers back to that world through one line each character Sam earnestly asking Homelander "How will we know when the time comes?" cuz he's still searching for some newfound purpose after being abused in The Woods for so long, and he's being, well, almost groomed into thinking that his purpose is revenge against the non-Supe population meanwhile Cate with that shallow ass "Anything for you, Homelander :3" to put her in a better position to manipulate others, especially Sam... i think it's still so ambiguous to me what their end goals are and if they even align, we just get this small cameo and the whole "hey they're the heroes who killed all the rogue students!!!" branding that Godolkin settled on for them i know they said they want the two shows to be as independent from each other as possible but with cate and sam getting this close to homelander, i'm so curious what's actually gonna happen and if there's gonna be some deeper tie-ins and implications than i thought
Homelander cant tell when people are lying but simply watches to see what their heart does. Coleman was scared to death anyways so Homelander could have perceived it as lying.
Are people who buy vought’s lies like Cameron Coleman and the home teamers… or the people who are complicit but should know better…A-train, sage, or Ashley worse ? Ashley saw what vought does and doesn’t leave. A-train and sage are a part of the criminality. But Cameron really seems to believe what he is saying. Unlike the real life person he is based on on (tucker Carlson) does that make you at all sympathetic ?
@@errorx_x1063 well not as much as a redemption arc but more of her own arc since she’s spent all of season 2, 3, and now 4 as homelanders bitch so it’s more of a she’s becoming her own thing
Is firecracker part of the seven? I cant tell who is or isnt considering its pretty fickle with how the classify them. Firecracker is just a media face and sage wants to be distant from all of it. And the guardians arent really counted.
Is this supposed to be fun? The Boys was at its best when it was just a story about broken people feeling small and getting their revenge. It's just devolved into murder porn for murder's sake, and it's taking a decade to get to the final fight.
*shrugs* I don't think it's trying to be fun, it's showing how depressing things could get when people with unchecked power get used to using it, until their own increasingly cruel actions leave them completely stripped of love and empathy for others.
Scene gets much easier if you imagine Tucker and his ilk of grifters in Cameron’s stead (not that it was hard watching him get his ass kicked he was an asshole)
You know I wish they actually showed Cameron getting beat up but based on the group surrounding him i say The Deep (obviously gave the first gut punch) Firecracker (gave the kick) Cate and Sam (Cate was walking towards him and im guessing Sam also got a punch or a kick in) Black Noir ll (Also gathered around with Firecracker) Tek Knight (Maybe he was just watching but he was walking towards Cameron so I think he also killed him) I counted 12 hits between the 6 supes so im guessing each got two shots at Cameron each. I know this is kinda useless but I thought it would be fun.
As far as we know, yes. All wiki pages say he's dead. And the show presents him as being killed. Listen to the squishing sounds as Firecracker (who we know is desperate for Homelander's approval) repeatedly kicks him. He's getting his head bashed in. And Homelander had just went on a tangemt about the Seven becoming "wrathful gods". Merciful gods spare wrongdoers. Wrathful gods kill all who oppose them.
