The Boys Needs To End… (Not Now But Later) 

I’d rather see the show end on a high note after Butcher & Homelander are gone over it becoming like The Flash where it starts off good but then sucks later on because it got multiple seasons

I hope it ends after 5 sessions. We are at such a point building up where this feels like this season is going to be where things really ramp up in the story and a session 5 to wrap things up would be perfect.

I feel like with Gen V they’ve really created ways in which the show could last for years similar to Breaking Bad. They could have the last season be a culmination of all the shows.

If the show REALLY wants to diverge from the comics with a curveball, then having us think that Butcher is going to kill Homelander before he dies, then having Homelander brutally kill him instead, would be wild. Having the last season or two being the rest of the Boys finally getting on Butcher’s level and going all-in on killing Homelander for revenge could be compelling.

"All good things need to end eventually." I 100% agree! Exactly like mainline comics these days. Without an ending, all of our favorite story arcs & characters' development will inevitably become hollow & meaningless. I’m furious with the creatives behind the current "Amazing Spider-Man" run, but I understand their struggles due to such vast continuity.

They changed it back its confirmed season 5 will be the final season, which honestly is the best outcome. I think the show is gonna end great.

They literally just announced that Season 5 is going to be the show’s last season. Tbh the boys being a satire of pop culture could go on for waayyyy longer. As long as there is content, the boys can throw shade at it. So it will pretty much never run out of content

I love Supernatural. The first 5 seasons were legendary but I also love most of the other seasons and I am glad it was that long

I'm a huge Supernatural fan, but even I can't pretend how it went from good to mid, to arguably awful at times.

In my head, Season 4, Victoria is the main villain. And season 5 Billy and Homelander have one last fight before the show ends. Maybe Ryan's involved and there is a time jump where he's older and helps Billy fight against his dad. But now they're gonna fuck it up!

We can make it go longer knowing that they can spread this shit out without running out of source material since this are avenger films in half as much of a time span being that each episode is an hour long which is still long which means its too expensive to make more and more episodes so yeah, maybe 7 seasons at best or max since to be real, they can spread it out and this is the probable number of seasons and then they just create spin offs after because it all ends with butcher killing himslef by forcing hughie to (spoilers for the comic) and do you really think as the show runner that people will stay for 10 more years and then just to see all the story to have the main characters die and then kill eachother…

genuinely thought season 4 was gonna be the final season, made me much more excited for what comes next.

Now here’s the one thing that could be the difference between this and Supernatural. Kripke didn’t extend it. The network did and replaced him. I don’t mind it going a little past 5, as long as he has a plan

Kripke left supernatural after his 5 seasons were done. It did not go for 15 seasons because he wanted or decided to.

Absolutely agree, it's honestly kinda ridiculous. As much as I enjoyed Gen Z, having a spin-off with teenage superheroes is inherently kinda dumb. And now they're doing ANOTHER spin off, as well as stretching out the main show? Not good.

Let's be honest. Supernatural had a very good ending planned that unfortunately was absolutely ruined and couldn't be done bc of covid.

I don't think it's overstayed it's welcome just yet. And the show runner didn't confirm more seasons he just said he's bad at predicting how long his shoes will run so he doesn't wanna set anything in stone. I agree that it could go a little off the rails, but with how it's going now I'm ready for plenty of seasons. For now I say we wait til Season 5s finale and if a Season 6 is justified then I will welcome it with open arms

I felt like last season was setting up the next one to be the last...I mean spoilers for those who haven't read the Comics....Homelander attacks the White House and kills Victor Neumann. It feels like the next season should end the series with Homelander leading his army of Supes on Washington D.C. in a dark and twisted reminder of January 6 and then we get the showdown between Billy Butcher and Homelander just as Billy is about to bite the dust. I think that would be perfect.

I had a friend in school who finished both Supernatural and HIMYM in less than 1-2 months and during this time the exams were near, bro always was sleepy but you'll find him watching it if we had a free period or class without a teacher

I figure this is one way of irony; A series based on a comic series where most heroes are irredeemable entering a time before people are hating big name comic titles, satirizing both real world and the superhero genre by embracing it and stand its own, having praises over big name titles that had history of similar subjects yet applied or getting sidelined from the same subject, then the same people began to find hatred with salad words and those who worries of over saturation.

I think it should honestly end in the 4th season. Like homelander and Billy have their end of season fight where Billy kills homelander, and then there's like a prologue where we see Billy's last moments surrounded by all of his teammates.

It’s only set for 5 seasons. But they’re steamrolling toward the comic ending. They’re set for more seasons of the Gen V spin off but I do feel like they need to end it sooner rather than later.

In fairness to the Supernatural thing, Kripke concluded his own story and left the show after the fifth season, only serving as an executive producer and penning one final episode for Season 6. Beyond that time, he was only ever a consultant for the remaining 9 seasons. When you create something that generates a lot of revenue and jobs (especially for the notoriously struggling CW network), it’s easy to see why someone might choose to let it run longer than originally intended. And even beyond that, it was something people really loved, and I think any creative person is just delighted to give people more of something they want.

I understand keeping The Boys running, if you have a cash cow like The Boys it's hard to end something like that but after the success of Fallout and Reacher Prime doesn't need The Boys

bruh every season ends like “ooo shit homelander is about to pop off” and then next season nothing happens, they keep acting like homelamder is going to go full unhinged but then he stays very much on the hinge, every season he gets setback to status quo hinged, and i guarantee this season will be the same.
