Chester was really open about his struggles and depression. He experienced abuse as a child, which lead to drug addiction and so on. So yes you can hear the pain in the music. But like someone else already wrote in the comments, most of their songs were written by Mike Shinoda (with Brad Delson) and sometimes Chester would write with them. I think it was Mike Shinoda who asked not to spread those rumors and conspiracies, cause it‘s already hard enough for them and the family to deal with his death.
Chester always put so much emotion in his performance of every song and idk about the lyrics but this song was actually written for Transformers 2. They had songs in the first 3 movies but this one was actually written for the movie.
I see the theories as nothing more than conspiracy theories. Chester had been tormented for most of his life. Long before he ever had anything to do with corporate entertainment.
I didn't become a Linkin Park fan until a couple of years ago. Now when I listen to their music, and knowing how he died, you can hear the pain he was in. I missed out of hearing that voice. What an amazing talent.
This song was part of the Transformers movie soundtrack. I would recommend Crawling ,By Myself, A place for my Head, and Somewhere I Belong, to truly hear what he was actually going through, when his voice captures the feelings inside.
I was pregnant with my first child Sept 2001. My kid's dad was Military security and I was alone a lot in the days & weeks after 911. my sleep schedule got all messed up and "Crawling" someone later on said that was their first song ever, not 100% sure on that but it was on MTV in the middle of the night back when not much else was on tv in the early hours of the day. I remember thinking - "Wow" just blown away. linkin Park's music and specifically their sound reminds me of a time where I was about to be a new mom. I loved their sound immediately.
Close. It was the 2nd single off their 1st album. EVERY song on it is amazing! I had just gotten out of the military the year before 911 & I was a single mom. I was heartbroken. Worried for my friends who were still active. I was absolutely terrified that I would be called back. I had no one to take care of my daughter.
Please react to their live performance of "One More Light" on Jimmy Kimmel. It's a must at this point! Edit: it should be noted that this performance took place soon after Chris Cornell's passing.
Don the problem with your theory is almost all of Linkin Park music was written by Mike Shinoda. What made Linkin Park so good is Chester related to the music Mike Shinoda wrote.
i don't think the statement of almost all their songs is written by Mike is true, Mike did takeover the writing a lot of times but so much of their music was still co written with the whole band or Chester and Mike and in their interviews Mike would say he wrote music for Chester or after exchanging stories in their personal life and Mike would put the lyrics together to relate to Chester's story or one of the other guys in the band
Finally someone that says what I keep trying to say in all these reaction videos. I don't understand why everyone keeps ignoring the fact that Mike Shinoda wrote nearly all their songs. Chester deserves all credit for his voice. noone can sing like him, but noone can write and produce like Mike either.
To be fair the vast majority of songs were credited to the entire band with a fee exceptions. Mike in his twitch stream explained that he typically did the first draft, because his process typically was writing the music first then writing the lyrics, once those were done, he would typically share it with Chester and they would rework some lyrics, then shared with the rest of the band that would work in musical changes. So yes Mike and Chester had a special relationship and a lot of Linkin Park music brings out lots of personal reactions from the fans which makes their music so universally relatable. There is a RU-vid video of a interview Mike did with Howard Stern on how he wrote In The End in one night. There is a good interview on Chester's creative process.
Please please please do the song "Pariah" by a band called For Today, and watch the lyric video. They're actually a Christian metal band. I promise you will not be disappointed, the song is incredible.
Chester will always be missed. His music was so...i have no words. I am an almost 60 year old who will gladly listen to his music. His voice is melodic and no one can replace him. If you know anyone who is struggling with the problems Chester was having please give them help
"New Divide" is a song by American rock band Linkin Park. The song is released as a single and was recorded specifically for the soundtrack, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen - The Album to Michael Bay's film Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen.
For me in my opinion the song that showed me how Chester felt on the inside was “Easier to Run” the lyrics in that particular song are in many ways, beautiful, haunting and telling. It’s my favorite one of all time and again this is just my opinion. Great reaction guys
This song was in the second Transformers movie. Please check out A Place for My Head (Live In Texas) from 2003. And if you wanna learn more about Chester then you should check out "Easier To Run".
I would love for you to react to the song "Rise above this by Seether" It is about shaun morgan's (the singer) brother eugene who committed suicide and the song is just so beautiful.
OMG this song and video takes me back to when my son was 4 years old he is about to turn 18 and go into to the army I am 40 now lol the Linkin Park got me through my teen years and early twenties and me and my son watched transformers for the first time and then he watched the video and played the song on repeat afterwards and fell in love with the band just like I did when I was younger❤❤❤❤
to be honest i'm someone who was obssessed with conspiracy theories, and the biggest linkin park and i've never noticed anything linkin park have to do any of that, and i'm surprised you talked about the logo that i never noticed, interessting point but in my opinion i dont think it's related at all, but who are we to decide i guess, a lot of things happens behind the scenes 2024 is crazy tho lol also i think the darkest thing i can tell you about for me listening to LP after he's gone, it's the way that in some songs he says forgive me if i'll do it one day, and that's pretty much it, the rest is just helping people that struggle with life in different ways, R I P to my childhood hero
The theme of the music video is transformers. I think the first transformers movie this was the song played. I'm pretty sure it was the second movie. And I know that because of the robot arms behind Chester in the video. It's the same scene as what's in the movie
BP- YOU SHOULD REALLY TJECK OUT LINKIN PARK LIVE IN TEXAS..IM ALMOST 💯% SURE, THAT YOU CAN FIND IT HERE ON RU-vid ALL THE SONGS FROM THAT LIVE CONCERT, THEY HAVE EDITET IT UP, INTO EACH SONG, FOR THOSE WHO JUST WANNA LISTEN TO A CERTAIN SONGS FROM THE LINKIN PARK LIVE IN TEXAS..TRUST ME, THAT CONCERT AND THE PERFORMANCE IS FANTASTIC🎉🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤❤😊😊😊💯💯💯 Ive been a fan since the first time ive heard in the end, and the level that they would performe is really insane🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤💯💯💯💯 So plz tjeck linkin park live in texas, trust me, you wony be desapointet🙏🙏🙏😇😇😇😁😁😁🥰🥰🥰😊😊😊😍😍😍😉😉😉🎵🎶🎵🎶🎵🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯 & congratulations on your baby daugther❤❤❤😊😊😊🎉🎉🎉🎉
But it's not. Cause Chester as writer was involved only in 2 songs on One More Light album - it's "Heavy" and "Halfway Right". So basically most of this songs was written not even from Chester's perspective.
My biggest regret is that I will never get to see Chester perform live. listening to LP frequently makes me emotional and I tear up every time I see a music video of him. Due to this regret, I make it a point to see every band that I am interested in when they tour. I might miss the money I spend on tickets, but I value the experience far more than the entry fee. you never know when your last opportunity is. sieze the day
their Live in Texas from 03(maybe 04) is just incredible. Nobody's Listening from Meteora is a whole other vibe with one hell of an earworm. I'd never heard the conspiracy angle before, gives me something to think about. some of us 40!'s grew up with Nu Metal. it's still my favorite genre because of how music imprints itself(holy shit they HAVE been programming us). Nu metal is nothing if not angsty hard emo while I would not have agreed with that statement back then, I think it's hilarious now and it also gave a lot of us the opportunity to express feelings that the people before us weren't allowed to. All that to say Chester's been tormented since day one. Even those that knew, hardly any could say they knew how deep or how bad it was. I think it would be hard to not feel something or when you experience him. I don't know if he was trying to save himself or make up for something that happened to him or whatever it is, but that dude bared his raw soul out there every night. it's beautiful and tragic. poured out his cup every night so the others could fill theirs
Also they did a Album more rap influenced. It's called Linkin Park Reanimation. It's a Killer Album has a handful of super cool rap and rock cameos on it. Was a EP follow up to 1st album Hybrid Theory. And before 2nd or technically 3rd album Meteora
BP WAITING FOR THE END TO COME IS AN ABSOLUTE BANGER AND SAD AF AT THE SAME TIME 😢😢😢 R.I.P CHESTER AND CHRIS AND FINAL MASQURADE IS ALSO HAUNTINGLY BEAUTIFUL BUT YES DEEP DIVE INTO CHESTER AND CHRIS THEY WERE BOTH WORKING TOWARD THE SAME THING AND YOU WILL BE SURPRISED HE DIDNT TAKE HIS OWN LIFE NOR DID CHRIS JUST SAYING 😢😢😢
ahahahaha those have to be the worst captions I have ever seen on youtube. completely out of context. thank you for the content, I cannot wait to see you dive deeper into LPs stuff!
And there it is. What you think of and some times the band has a story behind it. Me I think they make the art and then it's up to you. Me personally the art is gone now. It's just engineering and making it perfect. And know struggles at least to me.
Just think of what they did to Corey Feldman, who along with Corey Haim, was out there so early on talking about this mess and basically was shunned into mental illness/losing their minds.
Oh brother. It's almost unbelievable that you've heard only few LP songs but also im jealous because there is great journey for you to discover. If i may suggest something to react to that would be "linkin park - the messenger (live unplugged)" that exact title, you should find it easily if u copy paste that Peace : )
I really would like if you could please react to RUSH Xanadu from Exit Stage Left. You will truly see how multi talented these guys are. Congratulations again on your new little one.
Chester was a tortured soul from being sexually abused by a friend from age 7 to age 13 and he spoke on it and Chris Cornell and Chester were best friends and died 2 months apart. It is nonsense........ Linkin Park has the biggest fanbase in the world and very loved. Chester and Chris were not a part of the stupid theories. Chester was the nicest, sweetest soul on this earth.
Conspiracy theory's? It was just the bands 20th anniversary for their Hybrid Theory debut album. And as for the conspiracy theory's instead of talking about those "theory's" just talk about how much of a great person he was. and not about some stupid conspiracy theory's talk about how he was a extremely talented individual and that will always be in our harts.
BP, you really have to do background on Chester. Abused in childhood, got famous, saw the abuse of children and Chris Cornell and he started fighting for children all over the world (including Epsteins children). Conspiracy surrounds both deaths and government NWO type stuff. Ive told you before, Chester keeps alot of us going every day. He had the inner light and had traumas allowing him to be empathetic and actually care for others. Much love to you as always. LP , NF , REN , all spread HOPE ! Lastly, One More Light video by Linkin Park is a MUST watch, you'll feel Chesters LIGHT !
I think he had a lot of mintel issues. Welcome to music it always has meaning. Good and bad and some times it doesn't mean any thing people are gone let them be and get some thing from it. Just saying I think he would like that instead. He'll any artist. Like you guys.
because people have not been watching my rap reactions that much on this channel. To be honest, I’m also over all the drama in hip-hop. Hasn’t been my vibe lately.
@@BlackPegasusRaps to be honest i have been watching you since day one and i really enjoy everything u post on your chanel and i didn't expect you to respond to my comment.. thank you for being honest and if that's your opinion i respect it and also Macklemore has dropped a new song , big love to you and continue you are and amazing artist and an inspiring model from tunisia africa 🙏🔥
Research all the "new" organizations formed, books released, new "scientific" studies released (especially regarding sexuality) 1947-1949. Now...the Great Reset?? Have you seen the new Apple IPad ad? Are you familiar with Apple Macintosh SuperBowl ad..."1984" SuperBowl? Come Lord Jesus, come quickly...
I deal with PTSD, anxiety, and depression every day. Some days are better, some are worse. I listen to Linkin Park as a way to address my pain. Scream it out even if I'm never heard. It's Cathartic for me and can help me feel balanced.
I have dealt with it also for decades. I get counseling with EMDR. No medicine. Super simple to do. I rarely get triggered. No nightmares, I'm more confident, etc. Please check it out. You will be happier.
Chester's birthday was March 20th, that might be why more people talked about him. The conspiracies are, sorry to be rude, quite stupid. And they are hurtful to his family, friends and bandmates. His son Tyler recently had to tell people on his social media to stop talking about it. Honestly, those theories seem like a cope - it feels better to think an idol died a martyr rather than from their own hand, despite them having a history of attempts and a whole catalogue of music addressing those thoughts. It feels better to think you're a clever person who has realised "the truth" that the "sheep" are blind to, you're so much better than them. Sure Chester looks like Podesta. Know who else he looks like? His actual dad Lee Bennington. It's like people have forgotten that lookalikes are a thing, that there are people out there that people would mistake for us, that some friends get mistaken for siblings. Mostly, I despise the theories for necessitating Chester having zero braincells. If you're trying to expose the rich and powerful for heinous crimes, and your fellow investigator "dies mysteriously", you do something to ensure the information gets out if something happens to you as well. It's not that hard - tell a friend to email some copies to journalists in the event of your death. But sure, Chris and Chester were both capable enough people to infiltrate and investigate these people that others have failed to provide proof against, but also dumb enough to not ensure the information gets out in case of their deaths. They apparently possessed a single Schrödinger's Braincell between them, that only exists when convenient to the theory. Same for the people that supposedly killed them - capable enough to make it look like it was by their own hand, but stupid enough to leave two months between hits, two months where the whole thing could be exposed. I really cannot get behind all those "theories" that require you to stretch you disbelief while ignoring more plausible explanations, all without proof. Just reeks of people liking to think they are oh so clever, rather than having actual critical thinking skills. Chester was super open about his struggles. He experienced CSA from ages 7-13, at the hands of a slightly older kid, a kid that themselves was a victim. Chester chose not to press any charges against his abuser after learning that fact. Chester was bullied physically and verbally in school. His parents had a bad divorce when he was 11, and he felt abandoned by his mother. His father was a police officer who worked long hours and wasn't very emotionally available at the time. He went through so many experiences early in life that tore apart his self esteem and made him feel unwanted and so alone. It wasn't until he joined a band when he was 15 that he felt really connected to other people. When he was 11, he was offered drugs, and he was doing heavy drugs from when he was 11 until his late teens. When he got off those drugs, he became an alcoholic instead, and struggled with alcohol abuse for the rest of his life. He spoke about having thoughts of ending his life, he spoke of deep pits of depression, of having "another Chester that wanted to take him down", he spoke of self-loathing and doubts about his worth. His close friends have since talked about how Chester struggled to take in compliments, but readily took criticism to heart. He passed away on his close friend's birthday two months after that friend passed by their own hand, and there was alcohol in his system. Doesn't take a genius to figure that he probably drank something to get through that tough anniversary, and loathed himself for falling into his substance abuse less than a year after getting clean. It's not very farfetched to think that losing a decade older friend who had dealt with similar issues with substance abuse would make a person feel hopeless about their own chances of making it; if your friend fell to his demons, how could you hope to defeat or survive them? That's not how it works, but for a mind with low self-esteem that's really easy to believe. I find it so insulting to Chester to spread those half-baked conspiracies, rather than talk about mental health. We should #MakeChesterProud by taking care of our own mental health, seeking help, learning better habits, learn the signs of struggling in ourselves and others, reach out when we see loved ones struggling, work to ensure affordable access to therapy and medication, and help destigmatize mental illness.
Exactly. 1) There is no relation between Chester and that Podesta dude. Absolutely any skinny guy with bald head and glasses will look like Chester. Whoever created that conspiracy bs is really think people are stupid (some of them are, unfortunately, they don't know s--t) and ignore the fact (well known by LINKIN PARK fans, etc) that one and only father of Chester is Lee Russell Bennington. 2) Chester and Chris didn't had a fight against p.ring, cause every social activity Chester did with his bandmates from LINKIN PARK, not alone. Author of that stupid conspiracy theory want to people to believe that if there was a Chris+Chester battle against p.ring and they both was about to release evidence/documentary/whatever - Chester was so dumb so he waited for 2 month not doing s--t about it. Otherwise he would immediately release it right after death of Chris. Some idiots finds it funny (what a sick f---s) to create and spread all that BS conspiracy theories (especially using a loud info reason in mass media - like death of celebrity) so another idiots easily fall for it and spread it too.
@@PPRKUT88 I'm honestly amazed at what I've seen count as evidence. I've seen people cite the lyric "When they come for me, I'll be gone" as Chester leaving a clue that people would come after him; ignoring the fact that the entire song is about people criticising the band for changing their sound, taunting those people to "catch up mf". It's song about being way ahead of people wanting you to stay the same. It's heavily a Mike Shinoda track. But sure, Chester was leaving little mystery clues for you to discover in the music, but didn't do anything to actually make sure any information he supposedly had would be released upon his death, or releasing it after Chris died. Sure 😂
Please stop these ridiculous conspiracy theories. I will only watch when Don is not on. Chester's family has said it is very traumatizing for them and is in no way, shape or form true. Chester was very open about suffering from depresion and suicidal ideation.
