ALL 6 kids got extra dirty on purpose, and I thought that was the most "realistic" part of the commercial itself! It's sad that the director didn't see that!
One of my favorite episodes, liked their flashy clothes, Mike wore beautiful striped tie, Skip wore chic dashiki(?). I noticed Brady's carpet was incredibly spotless! 'My nice normal family just a bunch of dingalings'.
Those "come join our cult, we're so happy" expressions on the kids' faces were hilarious!! I forgot about those expressions from last seeing this, probably 40 years ago. 🤣 😃😃😃😃😃😃

It’s weird seeing the actor behind so many iconic cartoon character voices, a lot of us grew up with. :) Glad I was able to find his name, quickly. First thing I heard was a Gummi Bear character, followed quickly by a Pooh Bear character, then. I saw the Gargamel post, and instantly heard Gargamel instead of the other characters. 🤭

He (Winchell) also invented and patented, among other things, a disposable razor, a blood plasma defroster, and a flameless cigarette lighter.

I forgot how funny this whole episode was! "What happens when you put a camera on a bunch of squares?? They flip out!!" Then telling the kids to "get out"! Then telling Alice "What's with that spaghetti??"

Paul Winchell played the groovy director and voiced many cartoon characters along with his ventriloquist dummies . He was also an inventor . Talented dude .
Robert Reed hated this episode! He said in his whole acting career he never met a real director who wore flashy tunics and rattled off a hundred cliches a minute.
@@mcgannahanskyjellyfetti1663 if that's the case then Robert Reed has poor comedic sense, because I consider this the funniest Brady Bunch episode. Robert Reed should've been in a soap opera not a sitcom, because he was clearly too serious of an actor.
@Susan B Robert Reed often said he hated the show, yet signed on to do the Brady Bunch Variety Hour, which was even cornier. Actions speak louder than words.
I wonder what April Winchell thought of this. (Her late father Paul Winchell, best known for voicing Tigger in Winnie the Pooh is playing Skip Farnum).
I couldn't figure it out til you said that I looked him up! It's Paul Winchel who was Dick Dastardly, Gargamel on the smurfs, Zummie Gummy on the Gummy Bears, TIGGER, and Mr. Owl from the Tootsie Roll Commericals! (plus more but that's enough)

Before I read the comments, I knew the director was Paul Winchell because I knew he sounded like "Tigger" and "Zummi Gummi", which he provided the voices for in the television shows.
Skip Farnum was played by Paul Winchell. Mr. Winchell found fame as a ventriloquist (with dummies like Jerry Mahoney and Knucklehead Smiff), and was the voice of Tigger. He also did a voice in The Fox and the Hound.
Why didn't he just straight up and tell the Bradys that he wanted them to just be themselves? If he would've done that then they wouldn't get acting lessons from that Myrna Carter and went over the top!
I thought he did tell the Bradys to just be themselves, but they didn't have confidence in their own capabilities, and Myrna Carter gave them the worst acting advice!

Yeah, I dig it! Will someone get me a shovel? And Alice's dress. That's the same one she wore in the episode with 'Mark Mallard', the con artist. But what real life housekeeper would really wear her best clothes to do her work? You'd ruin them. You wear clothes you don't mind getting dirty in, because housekeeping is messy work. Alice should have been wearing her work dress.
YES! I remembered the dress from the "Mark Millard" episode, too! Alice was just taking part in the TV commercial, and she dressed up because of Myrna Carter's acting advice!

Obie Dryer, the series was definitely starting to run out of steam. Because the kids were aging out of their parts the Oliver character was added to give younger children to relate to, but Sheldon Leonard decided to shelve the entire series.
