Humans indeed are hardwired for "God," because religion is a very powerful neurological experience. Religion, induces experiences similar to drugs, without the typical consequences of them. The Universe, as we know it, appears to have no known purpose, nor meaning to it all, so religion helps to create the illusion of such, although false.

For those that are awake or awakening...this is what I've come up with as a means to start a larger conversation. I've installed Vikter Bang into the matrix. If you google him you'll see a character that is awake and is a spiritual soldier using his creativity, talent and energy to help raise the consciousness of the planet. I'd love to get your feedback on my Kickstarter campaign that is a conduit for a lot of creations that will hopefully bring a lot of this out into the light more. Once in a blue moon...on a blue moon ;) This is the culmination of a lot of work and now I need your help to speak up. Now is the time to make our move and shine brighter than ever. Buddhists are not hard-wired for God, as Buddhists are interested to know mind and see reality as it is and go beyond the existential suffering of our everyday conditioned brain/mind.

nonsense. to find a spot in the cns which fires while people are having spiritual experiences is not in any way connected to "god".

If you are wise enough to outgrow the dependency on mysticism, you really need to read The Evolution of Consciousness series of books by Endall Beall. I ran across these books on Amazon and they so far overshadow all this mystical stuff and provide the first cogent examples of what advancing consciousness is really all about.
