The hardcore fandom around this game really does feel very cult like, it’s kind of freaky.

I hate arguing with people who love the Last of Us Part 2. Their arguments always result in giving excuses for the game's illusion of subtlety and subtext, and then they proceed to patronize and condescend the last of us that absolutely hate the game. A guy who wasn't only influenced by Anita Sarkeesian, but had ALWAYS thought the way he did, with his warped "ide olog y" and "vie ws" on the world, especially when it pertains to me n and wo me n in fiction. Both he and Naughty Do g WILL go ban krup t. It's only a matter of WHEN, not "if". Now, to the followers of the cu lt of the guy who SHAN'T be named, here's hoping that y'all become more and more enlightened and see the truth of the guy you follow. He's neither your "friend", nor someone whose to be seen as an "inspiration" of anything. He's done more h a r m to gaming than he's EVER done "good". Case in point, the number of lay offs with employees, including the firi ng of Amy Hennig, amongst MANY other shad y things he's done in the past. Both he and those in his inner circle, ie Troy Baker, his biggest cheer leader.

So, you know how you touch on the PS App store would bias scores in it's favor? That was actually a bit of infamy for TLOU2: TLOU2 infamously was given 5 stars nearly a month before it even released. We have literal evidence Sony was fluffling the scores.

Im glad people still talk about the game, i love the franchise. I originally didnt have a strong opinion of the game just a general dissapointment with the ending but, it ended up growing on me but i still really like seeing oposing opinions as i like seeing all the different perspectives.

What do you mean? We're getting the exact same game with stuff that could very well have been either an update or DLC for the original. And if you don't have the original, then you get to pay a whole 70$ for Abby favoritism. I can't wait for Last of us 3 to come out and it be Abby killing Ellie and all of Jackson in the name of revenge and her muscles. AND THEN the Last of us re-re-re-remastered to be released and broken on PC and Last of us 2 re-re-remastered to be the same.

I wrote this comment on a video talking about Joel’s death but I feel like it can somewhat apply here. It’s long… I get what they were going for with TLOU2 and Abby but I still feel like they fumbled the ball heavily. I preordered the game despite hearing about the leaks but believed that they wouldn’t do that to Joel. But the moment I started up the game and saw us playing as Joel at the very start I knew it was over. Just like Joel’s daughter. I had forced myself to finish the game since I spent about $70 on the game. I actively hated Abby and would get her killed any chance I get. I had hoped we could kill Abby at the very end of the game. But after a long while I had come to realize that yeah the game was supposed to be realistic but making Ellie out to be the “evil” one and trying to paint Abby in a good light. I get that they tried to shake us up with Ellie’s downward spiral and see if we are gonna be blind to it and only side with her on a quest to get revenge like Abby did. However, I personally can’t forgive the game for what it did to Joel. I feel as if they should’ve given us to kill Abby and even lev if they wanted to push the whole “revenge cycle is bad”. As a player I wanted for Joel and Ellie’s story to continue rather than a revenge story. I miss Joel but they did Ellie dirty. They removed her fingers so she couldn’t play Joel’s song as a way to remember him. She lost her family, lost her community, and she got nothing for it. She traveled all that way but didn’t even kill the woman she lost everything to kill. I would’ve been fine with Joel dying in a realistic way as to not go out as a hero but it was a gut punch to see him being murdered and tortured by some random woman we had never met before. I personally wouldn’t change the story of the game despite hating it. But some parts could be changed like the ending of the game allowing the player to choose between letting Abby live or die to see where the player’s allegiances end. I believe that some of us players suck I mean who sends death threats to the voice actor. She’s just doing her job she isn’t the character herself. Sorry for my comment being long but mannnn I am passionate about the first game. I can’t accept the 2nd game as a continuation and if there will ever be a third game following Abby and lev I would probably never play or watch someone play it. Same thing with the tv series (even though some parts of it I didn’t like I believe the show was good but I didn’t feel as attached to Joel and Ellie like I did in the game). Also it was unprofessional of Neil druckman to call his fans bigots and stuff for not liking the last of us 2. It wasn’t even the fact that Ellie was a lesbian as the first game’s dlc was well regarded despite showing Ellie was a lesbian there as well. It was just that people hated Abby and Joel’s death.

That game was great. Glad I don’t have to agree with you and I’m definitely glad you didn’t steer me away from it with your nonsense.
