I have this bike, it’s awesome! I think you will be surprised as to how capable it is. It strikes the perfect balance between xc and trail.

Is that a new generation without the knock block or is it the same gen frame from 23. ? I would appreciate your reply, thanks

Matty - the Trifecta : Roscoe for general purpose. Onset for chunky trail. Topfuel for downcountry. Since you're not really into XC racing the downcountry bike in carbon can be used for an occasional race if you build it right . And serve as a fast & capable long distance full suspension choice.

From what I remember the down tube stash was first on carbon bikes only.

I'm about your size and when I got my bike in a medium with 29 inch wheels I found it felt a lit bigger, so the wheel size can make a difference in how the size feels. I like XC bikes they're a lot more comfortable to ride, the slack downhill bikes are great on steep trails, but not as comfortable to ride flat trails.

You should review the new high pivot Slash if you can. Though with park season over you'd need to take it someplace like Apex, White Ranch, Left Hand or Floyd Hill to really get a feel for it.

I'm 6' and ride a M/L Roscoe, I wanted a full squish bike so I went back and forth between the Fuel and Top Fuel. I ended up on a Fuel because of the rocky terrain in my area, but I didn't fit on a M/L on either bike and got a large because of the geometry.
@mrvwbug4423
@mrvwbug4423 9 месяцев назад
Yeah 6' is definitely size Large in Trek Sizing. Trek does have a good range of sizing, so it's hard to end up in a sizing hole with them

Perfect bike for 90% of people on the trails. I can’t begin to count how many people are riding enduro bikes on XC trails😆
@MattyActive
@MattyActive 9 месяцев назад
So true 🤣
@mrvwbug4423
@mrvwbug4423 9 месяцев назад
For a lot of riders the enduro bike as only bike works fine. Buy the bike for the trails you like to ride, not your local trails. I do the enduro bike as only bike myself and I literally did an XC race on it Saturday, and a bike park day the week before. I ride enough bike park to want the big bike, but I only do around 8-10 park days a season, so can't really justify buying a DH bike just for park season. If I had the budget for a 2nd bike I'd totally have a downcountry bike like the Top Fuel for XC trails. Though the downhill speed of the enduro bike is pretty addictive, even on blue trails.
@joshuaallswang8016
@joshuaallswang8016 9 месяцев назад
@@mrvwbug4423 I’m not saying a enduro bike wouldn’t work on a XC trails or a blue/green trail. I’m just saying it’s too much bike for the type of trail. Even the XC race you just did. If you had a XC/DC bike you would of been faster, more efficient and less tired then using a big heavy down hill focused rig. It is what it is. But whatever makes you happy bro. That’s all that matters.
@mrvwbug4423
@mrvwbug4423 9 месяцев назад
@@joshuaallswang8016 If I could afford to have a stable of bikes I would have a bike for every occasion haha. But for a "one bike for everything" I'll take the big bike.
@joshuaallswang8016
@joshuaallswang8016 9 месяцев назад
@@mrvwbug4423 I feel you man, I have a couple bikes myself. But I would say the best compromise would be a trail bike forsure A 150/140 trail bike would be a beast in most conditions. Personally I like shorter travel trail bikes. My trance is a 140/120.

Which bike would you Recommend… Top fuel 7 gen 6 or Slash 7 Gen 5
@MattyActive
@MattyActive 9 месяцев назад
It just depends what kind of riding you’re doing, if you’re riding tough trails then I would do the slash but light XC style trails I would do the top fuel

@MattyActive How does this bike compare to the Roscoe 9 brother? For light trail/gravel work. I want to try a softer ride with a full susp. Do you lose speed on this full susp? Or is it still fast like my 9 Roscoe?

I can get the 9.8 XT for $4400. Not sure about that or get a better speced bike from YT? I don’t need the bike shop for anything.

My 2023 fuel has 150 140 travel....I thought trek stopped making the top fuel
@joshuaallswang8016
@joshuaallswang8016 9 месяцев назад
Nope, the top fuel is now Treks “down country bike” It went from 100 front and rear, to now 120 front and rear. They would never get rid of the top fuel. All the brands are making a down country bike to complement there 100 travel XC race bikes. Treks uses the super caliber as there flagship XC race bike now.
