All those who remember know: - Ronaldo at age 18-19-20 was better than Prime Messi and CR. If not for 2 knee ligaments ruptures that turned him into half the player he once was (still enough to become once again the best in the world) he would have been by all accounts the ultimate Goat. He was scoring 1 goal a game at age 16 and 17 when playing for the SENIOR squad of Cruzeiro in the MAIN BRAZILIAN DIVISION. It was unheard off and still to this day no one has done something remotely has impressive. He also was named the youngest Best Player of the World ever at age 19. In comparison, imagine Lebron James rupturing his ligaments at age 21 and again at age 24 (losing over 3 years of his career), and still come back to be elected the greatest in the game while limping from one leg, and wining the NBA has the MVP.
FUN FACT: at the age of 15 ronaldo was ready to be acquired by Kalamata, a team that played at the second greek division but the tranfer did not happen because Sao cristovao wanted 50.000$ to sell him and the president of Kalamata was willing to give max 40000$.
King Ronaldo.. The perfect finisher ...proved his worth before he was 20years old that is the true blood of pele..the greatest striker in soccer history. He won almost everything world cup, nation cup, confederation cup,UEFA cup....every tournament he proved his name ..why he is .the greatest of all time. The Teacher.... .He will train you..
Kaka > messi + cr7 Ronaldo > messi + cr7 Ronaldinho > messi + cr7 Zidane > messi + cr7 Henry > messi + cr7 And i had the fortune to watch all this players even if messi and cr7 did the fusion ting like in dbz they would never come near the class of this GOAT's above.
Ronaldo PHENOMENO, R9, God of Football. You observe a playing genius is always the same, it feels like it's easy. So are the geniuses, make difficult things seem easy and simple.
I am Argentine, Brazil is our Maximum Rival, it is Our Classic Rival, But Gordo Ronaldo is the Best Area Forward that I Saw in My Life, he was a Great Soccer Player, My Greatest Respect Towards Him !!!
What i like most about Ronaldo is that whenever he's dribbled a dude, he always look up and forward because he knows that the dude he just dribbled is out of the play. Fantastico.
there is a Brazilian team that was so good but never win the world cup. please watch brazil 1982. that time was pure football and make brazilian football as an art.
Ronaldo's full name is Ronaldo Luís Nazário de Lima, but that is way too long to put on a shirt, so he was known as Ronaldo. After Cristiano Ronaldo came on the scene it was confusing to have 2 Ronaldos, so It's Ronaldo Luis for the Brazil legend. When he first played for Brazil there was already a player called Ronaldo, so they called the younger one (R9) Ronaldinho, which is "little Ronaldo". If R9 wasn't called Ronaldo, then Ronaldinho (R10) would have been called..............Ronaldo! The Fenomeno part just means Phenomenon, which is a nickname for him. About the injuries in the video, he had 2 serious knee issues that cost him around 3 years at his peak time as well. He came back, and was still a great striker, but lost his explosive pace that he had before.
It is not because it is too long to put on a shirt, it has to do with portugese/brazilian name culture. If it was due to space issues it would say "Nazário". But in Portugal and Brazil they do it as personal as possible, so everyone goes by either their first name or their nickname.
I think it is unfair to compare players who played in different times but one thing I am sure: Ronaldo Fenomeno was the best player I've ever seen playing football. The dribbling, speed, finishing with both feet... All this with 2 busted knees. Even when he returned to Brazil to play in Corinthians, super overweight and out of shape, he was insanely good! This guy is a true legend and like others said: he could have been the GOAT without those 2 injuries!
undoubtedly he is one of the symbolic players of the 90s and the last of the old school of football together with ronaldhino, but ronaldo cannot approach the real gods of football as he was a player with a lot of physical strength and speed and very high technique, his technique was functional only with good physical condition, when he received the injury he lost much of his technique because he could not detonate it without speed. the difference between gods and great players is the gods manage to use the maximum of technique and vision by running and without running almost playing from a standstill, great players must run to use their talent. finally the gods can be placed anywhere in the field.
He tore his knee ligaments twice which basically ruined his career that was at his prime. He continued playing but he wasn't the same. Not saying he wasn't good but, just not the same.
Il Fenomeno prima dell' infortunio era nettamente il più forte calciatore del mondo...dopo l'infortunio è stato sotanto il più forte calciatore del mondo!!
Hey fellas,...you have to watch videos of Socrates kicking penalties. Its other brazilian baller, its awesome. He came before Ronaldo, Ronaldinho,Neymar,Cristiano Ronaldo, Zidane and all those this guys .
i love seeing how yall bth are just shocked and astonished the whole time... he wouldvebeen one of the best in all history if he didnt have his bad injuries
For me he is the 2nd greatest of all time behind messi , he wasn't consistent as messi because of injuries of course it's really frasturating when people when talking about the GOAT they forget about him .
@the king i am mad because i have a different opinion than you , what nonesense , i watched prime R9 in barcelona and inter and he was just amazing , but i prefer messi because he was as amazing as R9 and done it for 14 years that's the difference for me , you should learn how to give ur opinion without being an idiot
@the king first R9 was a subtitute in 1994 i don't think he played any minutes , in 2002 probably that was one of the greatest teams ever, Ronaldinho , Ronaldo , cafu , carlos... Yes again he was amazing and he was the best for me even than maradona and the rest but i jsit see Messi better , Messi didn't win a WC because he didn't have teammates that had crucial momemts like Ronadinho against england , or Rivaldo Messi had players like higuain that waste open goals in WC finals that's the difference and if you wanna talk about important tiltes , how come R9 did not win an UCL ? See how stupud your logic is , Titles are Won by teams not single players , and Messi is on the road to score his 700 goal he is All time leader in assists and probably the greatest dribbler ever .
@the king not really most people say Pele or maradona or Messi are the greatest , and R9 is often forgotten i've been watching football before you were born kid , i think u only saw R9 in youtube. And because you are an idiot you didn't get any of my points that i said that For me , my opinion go look for these 2 words and their meaning stupid for Me Messi is the best and R9 is the 2nd best if you don't agree that's cool but to insist that i need to change my mind is stupid. And btw R9 himself acknowleged the greatness of Messi go look for that too when you finish with the dictionary .
my friend.. ronaldo scored more than 240 goals before suffering injuries. was 23 years old. messi and cr7 at that age were not even close to 200. even disregarding the 43 goals from 45 matches he made in the brazilian league he still had more than 200 in european football and official brazilian team games. Ronaldo burst the 2 knees and just keep playing footbal for love and willpower.. because after injuries he play beeing a shadow who he was before.. and the same way he was top scorer and champion of world cup. Messi and cr7 just are now called of G.O.A.T for thats new generation because R9 had injuries that greatly reduced its potential, otherwise there would not even be a comparison.
@@hlonsouza9773 R9 was amazing at his young age , but same can be said about messi , in the beginning messi got injured badly many times and missed 4 months , months in his 2nd and third season so he didn't play much his begining was in 2007 ,, and Yes injuries prevented us from seeing more greatness , but messi doing it for all this time , scoring , assisting , driblbling records we have never seen that , no player in football history was the best scorer and best assist provider at once and messi does't every week and he is the greatest dribbler football has ever seen along with Maradona & R9 and there is still like 5 years in his career to achieve more its just ridiculous
