These games always look like just crazy, silly fun.

That's exactly what they are. They're great.

EDF iron rain was phenomenal too. More americanized but still ridiculously fun.

These are a blast. Specially multiplayer. I’m disappointed about the epic stuff but hopefully that’ll be removed sooner rather than later. For now, I’m playing through 5 with a friend. Thanks for the video!

Been playing since 4. Didn't even know this one came out. Probably gonna get it!

I was disappointed that the game doesn't support higher framerates on PC, but I did find a workaround. Using Lossless scaling with 2x frame generation works a treat! And it does actually feel great to go through the game at 120fps, and I can't say I feel any sort of input lag. There is however some minor ghosting you might notice, specifically on the crosshair, but I tend to stop noticing it during combat.

Ah, a fellow Monster Zero believer. 👍 That weapon was my constant sidearm and go-to sniper all the way through the story's Hard Mode. My take on EDF6's story is that, before the first big "turning point" (it's hard to quantify this game into traditional act structures), the plot spins its wheels for much too long and nothing of consequence gets done. This got very tiresome, especially when you hit missions with a sudden difficulty spike. The game also lacks some of the more sprawling set pieces such as EDF5's big mothership retreat mission string, the lead-up to Barga, or even the "the air force just braved a drone swarm to come back to save us". The world feels so much more contained because things just don't seem to get done unless the player character is directly involved, and less actually happens specifically to the player as opposed to their presence being a mere reaction to what's happening in general. That is to say, EDF6 has a general "arc" problem because there's little actual buildup until the latter part of the game, largely because most of its earlier mission sets recycle EDF5 missions but do not provide proper context leading into or feature follow-ups leading to their consequences. And that's kind of the problem with the time-related plot, because consequences are hard to nail down, especially with the game's unfocused mission narrative structure. That said, it remains a very solid game, and has some great moments. One, for me, was during the first "good future" loop where suddenly the EDF had their shit together and operated as a collaborative army, calling down airstrikes on snipers while you're clearing out ground forces. I know I brought up a number of negative things, and I'm not knocking my experience with the game. It was just a bit irksome to see some of these pitfalls after EDF5 raised the bar.

Once they remove the Epic requirement, I expect to see a lot more people jump in. Blame Russian Badger for that.
