I had no problem getting to max level before final boss fight in first OceanHorn, Because there were a lot of good areas for defeating enemies, but I was really annoyed at not seeing enemies in almost all of the world map area, until I stepped on the ambush spot. There are no good griding spots in OceanHorn 2 & by the time it was time to face the final boss, I was level 13 out of 16 & sick & tired of trying to find monsters to defeat, because they are to far spread apart on most of the areas. Over all I enjoyed the first one but not the second one, Because the enemies were easier to defeat, things were easier to find & I did not get killed in the first one, but I got killed about 4 or 5 times in the second one.

Nice breakdown. Sorry it wasn't a game for you. It was definitely for me. I completed it last night and had a blast. I agree it hits all the expected MV tropes and doesn't surprise you, but I'll also say it does a lot of really cool things in the mid- to late-game. And it's super impressive that only one guy made this game (with some help with music and monster design). Thanks for the vid :)

I was disappointed that the game doesn't support higher framerates on PC, but I did find a workaround. Using Lossless scaling with 2x frame generation works a treat! And it does actually feel great to go through the game at 120fps, and I can't say I feel any sort of input lag. There is however some minor ghosting you might notice, specifically on the crosshair, but I tend to stop noticing it during combat.

How is it that an old ps2 game can get dragon combat and controls near perfect but yet Skyrim without mods has some of the worst dragon combat controls ever?(not counting Lair)

Great video :) Regarding the quest system it's actually pretty important it's not random you can press t' at any time to check the progression bar and you can see in each dungeon when you will get a mission and also you will know what is the reward you are going to get, one of the options is a max level passive which is really good(just levels up one of you passives to the max), so keep an eye out for the progression bar

Ah, a fellow Monster Zero believer. 👍 That weapon was my constant sidearm and go-to sniper all the way through the story's Hard Mode. My take on EDF6's story is that, before the first big "turning point" (it's hard to quantify this game into traditional act structures), the plot spins its wheels for much too long and nothing of consequence gets done. This got very tiresome, especially when you hit missions with a sudden difficulty spike. The game also lacks some of the more sprawling set pieces such as EDF5's big mothership retreat mission string, the lead-up to Barga, or even the "the air force just braved a drone swarm to come back to save us". The world feels so much more contained because things just don't seem to get done unless the player character is directly involved, and less actually happens specifically to the player as opposed to their presence being a mere reaction to what's happening in general. That is to say, EDF6 has a general "arc" problem because there's little actual buildup until the latter part of the game, largely because most of its earlier mission sets recycle EDF5 missions but do not provide proper context leading into or feature follow-ups leading to their consequences. And that's kind of the problem with the time-related plot, because consequences are hard to nail down, especially with the game's unfocused mission narrative structure. That said, it remains a very solid game, and has some great moments. One, for me, was during the first "good future" loop where suddenly the EDF had their shit together and operated as a collaborative army, calling down airstrikes on snipers while you're clearing out ground forces. I know I brought up a number of negative things, and I'm not knocking my experience with the game. It was just a bit irksome to see some of these pitfalls after EDF5 raised the bar.

Hello a guy who have played the game a lot here (playtest, closed beta and speedrun) a little bit of thing i whish to add / explain a little bit more: For the world of light / gold it's change a few room's across the whole world like you guess meaning there are some rewards only available in one worlds or another, end even two place where you need to alternate the world's to progress, but this is for the true ending so not required. For the healing the time is the same as for aquiring skills point at a statues around 4 sec for the first one then if you maintain the button for healling or aquiring SP the time go down at 2 sec to be a little bit more faster if you heal when you are in a safe zone, as for the reason why the first one is so long the devs didn't wanted people to juste brute force combat or boss by spamming the heal, forcing in a way to learn the bosses, as for the combat it'self i have seen that in your footage you never attack upwards and downwards ( only avaible when you are in the air when you are in the air for the downward attack) for the bosses, the golden widows have what you can call a adaptive pattern for exemple on the second floors of the fight when your closed to here she will periodically alterne between here dash attack and here treads grab attack, and when you go afar from here she will jump on the ceilling to attacks with here projectile, every floors of the fight have different pattern depending on where you are from here and every single one of them have a wind-up before it, even tought for the last floors the wind-up can be short. For the dash power-up mini boss, it's just the same pattern over the full fight that you have to learn and it's your decision if you go up close and personnal full time or back up a little bit to dogde his pattern, again there are visual and sonore wind-up for this boss. i agree there are not a lot of bosses with gimmicks like the golden soldier and i think it is a miss from the dev teams but the bosse are still good in my opinion. For the exploration i also agree that sometimes new players can get easily lost, but this is a metroidvania and it his part of the fun (i guess) but i think the game tell you well where to go up until the golden widow if you take the time to pause a minute and think about it. I have nothing to say for the few statues because i think if you add more it can ruins the principle of making a choice, because if you have more you can basically have a lot of the more importante point in both skill tree. Overall it was a really good review you made and i hope that the few explanation you made help you about the point you where unsure.

The game called "Pagan absent gods" is now an offline solo action RPG hack'n slash, but it used to be called "Pagan online" when it came out, and was an online game. The game was also not so well received as an online game, and the player base went down quickly, so the devs decided to shut down the servers, and changed it to a 100% offline game.

I've also never seen a developer claiming a game being an online mmorpg, sold the copies then said they no longer provides servers (we cant afford them sorry!) and have to turn the game into a single-player/co-op game. Purely commercial scam. Airship will be forever banned from my game shopping list as the likes of BioWare.
@isaachill1107
@isaachill1107 Месяц назад
This is not entirely true. The publisher dropped the game. The publisher was the source of the online service. Without the publisher there was no online game. The developers had to either let the game die or salvage what they could how they could.

@isaachill1107
@isaachill1107 Месяц назад
@@Dionysia1217 Clearly you didn't understand what I wrote. Maybe you don't understand how the system works. The publisher is above the developer. The publisher is the one that provides the developer the access to the live service portion of the game. If the publisher takes away access to the live service the developer no long has a live service game. it is not the developer's fault. At that point they had to decide, let the game die completely which meant the people who spent money 100% lost that money. OR salvage what they could and provide the best game they could so the consumers got at least something for their money.

@@isaachill1107 if they shut down the game they need to refund every Steam consumer which they pivoted to avoid. I watched someone stream the gameplay from the start up to a little after the first Roamer boss. What I found is that the dialogue was either poorly paced or poorly timed. Some actions end up being contrived to make the scene happen how the devs want them to or ruin the mood of the scene due to forced comedy in a moment that didn't need comic relief. Meanwhile, the lore contradicts itself at times, so that ends up sticking with me a lot. So, while the gameplay looks fine, I don't find the dialogue and lore all that good.
