Good video Mr. Garcia yes everyone should know how to use a breaking stick but i personally feel not just listening to how u should break a dog off is enough for alot of people they should practice on breaking there dog off of sumtin and practice that numerous of times until u get a actual feel for it and not fear because lots of ones if they dog actually hold on to another dog and there dog is real aggressive and buck wild shaking continuously in the heat of that moment even if sum one bean listening or watching videos on how to break a dog off another dog to actually break a dog off in that heat of the moment will be to overwhelming for lots i feel they will panic and get scared i feel people who got these dogs for pet should practice with out a number in there head do it as much as possible so in case God forbid a incident do happen they wont be scared or overwhelmed thats jus my opinion because sum these dogs is really intense and the pit bull owners wont know what they got as a pet until a incident happens and they see how that gentle dog they been calling a pet really operates wen that prey drive kicks in

You're welcome. It's something I thought about back then but I had no info on it. Just my own feelings and observations but science is now explaining it in more detail.

Hello, I had a question concerning the history of the American Pitbull, specially what they were bred for. I have heard some say they came to be by breeding the extinct bull baiting bulldog with terrier to get a dog specifically for the sport of dog combat. However, there are authors/historians such as Richard F. Stratton and Diane Jessup that say that the American Pitbull is actually the bull baiting bulldog people say is now extinct and that the dogs were baiting bulls even before dog combat. What do you believe?
The fighting dog has been around for about 4000 years in different cultures like the ancient Sumerians,Greeks and Romans. When the romans arrived in the UK they brought fighting dogs with them. The same dogs that were used in bull and bear baiting and ratting were used for dogfighting. No need to create a different breed,they already had one. The APBT is a descendant of all those dogs I mentioned.

Just to make sure I am understanding you correctly, the American Pitbull is basically the same dog that was bull baiting and bear baiting but we call it the American Pitbull these days? That makes sense. It's kind of like the saying, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it." People already had dogs for combating other animals and each other. There would not really be a need to make another.

@richardgarciaschoolboy7746 I add a wrap at the butt of the drumstick..some gauze and hockey tape. Hand walking means a lot to me but these idiots let their dogs loose..I had only one incident but without the other guy..I wouldn't have been able to break my dog off. Any advice for when it's only you and 2 dogs?
@Mknitfit If your dog is a pit bull and the other one isn't you can break your dog off and the other one probably won't continue fighting. If both won't stop fighting you might have to break one and choke the other one but if you're by yourself with two dogs it's gonna take a while before you can get them to stop. I suggest if you see loose dogs and yours is on a leash,you should leave the area because no matter who's at fault the pit bull will be blamed.
