The Breathing Navicular  

This is a breathtaking video showing a human navicular bone contralateral video matching going back and forth between the healthy and diseased sides. The latter has presented with longstanding avascular necrosis (or Muller-Weiss disease) which resulted in softening of the bone structure and progressive change of shape. Degenerative changes within the joints is shown via color coding of joint distances around the bone with a reference to the other, healthy side of the joints. This incredible technology will help us better understand architectural changes in the foot and ankle complex secondary to this condition and others.
