On my first trip to a glacier in beautiful Norway. Picked up an almost sunny day in early July to take this trip. And boy, I wasn't disappointed. Never thought that glaciers are so freakin' huge!
Anyways, after taking a boat ride from the tourist resort, I've continued with my hike up the mountain. There was no rain or strong wind, so I managed to take some solid recordings there. Didn't go directly underneath the glacier because it is too dangerous to venture there, because of the ever present risk of getting crushed by the moving/melting glacier.
Little info about the glacier:
Svartisen is Norway’s second largest glacier, it has 60 glacier tongues and covers a full 370 km2. At just 20 m above sea level, it is the lowest glacier in mainland Europe, making it easily accessible for hikes and nature-based experiences.
In Helgeland you can visit both the Austerdalsisen glacier tongue and the Engabreen glacier tongue.
