The mastery he has over this instrument (and other instruments as well) is unreal. He plays like that with his eyes closed the whole time. Outstanding master of the Bass!!
Brian is one of the best ever. never mentioned as much but he's one of the best Bass masters all time. Ive learned allot from him the last 3o years.. he's all natural ear and kick ass technique!
My good lord! I hope to master the upright bass like this one day soon. I so love Mr. Bromberg feel and tone. It is very odd to me as a bass player- Somehow when I listen to Brian, John and Dave solos on the upright, I am drawn into a pure enjoyment place where I don't even want to learn what they're doing I'm just caught up in enjoying the solos! and when I list to Ron, Christian and Ray solos I'm always more intrigued to learn what they're doing....hmmm
