Great to se another Canadian with a pouring channel. I love paint pouring for my mental health also. I am an RN who can no longer able to work due to severe arthritis, so painting is my happy place. Great painting. Love from NB!
I'm glad that you were able to find an outlet! I really enjoy it when I meet another Canadian who stumbled across me, so thanks for being here I appreciate it! :)
Turned out really nice in the end. Those colours really came through. I really liked the pic before you swiped too. I might have left it like that. Good result Tony.
I have made so many of these paintings from flicking the paint to puddle pores to reckon it to Dutch pores and so on I always paint the sides of my canvas just to make sure.❤❤❤❤
Thanks so much for watching, I appreciate it! No I didn’t add any oil at all. My cell activator is Amsterdam titanium white mixed with floetrol and a few drops of penetrol which makes my lacing and cells on top of the color. 🙂
You do absolutely beautiful work. Question about the cell activator. You said 4-5 drops of Penetrol. How much paint and floetrol was mixed to use 4-5 drops? I realize it's 2pt to 1 pt. Is it 4-5 drops in 3oz, 6 oz ..... Looking forward to watching more videos.
@@JoanSmith-xr8bo Thanks Joan! 😊 I’ll try to explain as best I can. So before I started to use Aussie floetrol as my cell activator, I used a less expensive CA that only needed some floetrol in your paint (1oz would have been lots) and then adding the 4 or 5 drops of penetrol to my titanium white CA which was 2:1 paint and floetrol. The penetrol additive helped to make the cells. Really, the penetrol was only used to react with what little floetrol in each paint color. Does that make sense? Thanks for watching by the way! 🙂
It sure is! I’m slowly migrating to gallery wrapped only, I find everything finished so much better than a level 1 canvas does. I like my 12x24’s but may try a bigger size soon as a diptych piece!
@@danrieber7318 Hi Dan! The color starts to happen once the paint begins to dry. The Amsterdam pearlescent paint mixes white, but dries the color used out of the tube, so you’ve really got to keep track of it when you pour it. So, when wet, it’s white, and as it dries the color pops out!
It is so nice, I would have liked if you didn't have to pour so much off. The Pearl colors are amazing. What did you mix with them? I tried with glue and black canvas, they disappeared, I had no color. Just to add, I love the way you tell us what you are doing!
Thanks Michelle, that’s really nice of you! I mixed 1.5oz floetrol and 1oz artist loft medium for each color. I also added a little bit of gloss medium to each color as well! Thanks for watching!! 🤍
@@MichaelaBolton-xo2gs Thanks for watching Michaela! The white you saw is an iridescent acrylic also know as pearlescent’s that mix white. So, although I used four colours which dry the color they’re supposed to, they mix white. When I use them I also label the cups so I don’t forget which color is which. The pearlescent paint dries brightest on a black or darker background as well. I hope that helps!
Hi Ana! Initially, no you can't see the colors but they start to brighten up as the paint stretches out and then dries. Once it dries it gets very bright! Thanks for watching :)
