118.9d If an alternative cost is being paid to cast a spell, any additional costs, cost increases, and cost reductions that affect that spell are applied to that alternative cost. (See rule 601.2f.)
Unironically, love the Slag Fiend from Corey; regardless of it's value in the deck it was an exceptional meta pick for a game of artifact commanders lol
I’m no “rules guy” but it’s Jon’s spell(1/3) that kills Jeremy with Cody’s trigger(2/3) Because of Stevens instant (3/3). So yes I agree the damage came from Cody but the negative points should be on all of them out of fair play. Or at least that’s how I see it! Thanks for the great game guys.
So, at the end of the day who actually killed Jeremy? Jon for casting the removal that killed his creature? Stephen for deflecting that removal to Jeremy's creature? or Corey for owning the massacre worm trigger that reduced his life total to 0? IMO... Stephen because he took the last non-mandatory action that led to Jeremy's death.
If Jon had used mindslaver to kill Jeremy by using Corey, Corey would lose the point. Stephen cast a spell knowing that it would kill Jeremy by using Corey's trigger. It's rude but it makes sense that Corey loses the point.
Whenever an ability says "you may cast something without paying its mana cost" without saying "for as long as it remains exiled" or "until the end of turn" or anything, it has to be cast as the effect doing it resolves. Just remember cards like Horde of Notions, Electrodominance, or the Expertise cycle.
I live for the banter between Stephen and Corey 😂 I am making it my mission to play a game against them two one day, imagine playing Two Headed Giant and having them two as partners 😂
All Jon had to do was kill one of Jeremy's creatures when he was at 2 and let Corey's Massacre Wurm trigger, killing Jeremy and making Corey lose the point for killing the person in last place. I was so looking forward to it.
Stephen could've Cryptek'd the gearhulk and sac'd it to Sai in etb response to Garry, reanimate the gearhulk, blow up one of Jon's creatures lowering the devotion for Garry and also gaining 3, pretty sure he could've lived another turn
Stephen brought Ashnod to life* where JLK struggled in two attempts. The deck was sweet; the Warhammer inclusions were nice to see. *Trying *real* hard to ignore the Cheaty Face activation reductions with Sai. shhhh
I would be impressed if Corey pulled off the same thing as what the Professor did on the episode of Game Knights on the Command Zone when they used the commanders from the Brother's War Set, when the Professor melded Mishra, Claimed by Gix and the Phyrexian Dragon Engine 3 times in one game. Which was epic :)
Necropotence seems like a nonbo in Jon's deck since it exiles all the cards he's discarding to Gix, even though he's not actually exiling them when he does so.
y'all really need to read cards. Stephen just pops wayfarer's bauble without paying mana. Corey plays the Dragon Engine (and not the Plague Engineer) and doesn't read "FROM THE GRAVEYARD". Even Suarez picks it up and doesn't read the "FROM GRAVEYARD" part.
Last week Stephen had the worst commander I've seen in a long time. And got punished for playing a weak deck. They showed no mercy. Let's hope he made better choices this week!
i can tell you guys that john missed something when stephen "wheel of fortuned" john forgot the "Gixian puppeteer" "Whenever you draw your second card each turn, each opponent loses 2 life and you gain 2 life."....EACH TURN so he should have gained 2 and they lose 2
Sweet Buddha, get rid of that music! Tocasia grants vigilance. Thought Vessel grants infinite hand size. It would have been cool if Stephen had turned his Devil into an artifact and sacrificed it to Sai for his reanimation shenanigans.
I was thinking of saying the same. He’s seems really disrespectful but they all keep playing together so I don’t believe anyone there minds it. As a viewer though I cringe every time I see someone do that with others cards
I feel like Corey looked at the deck list ahead of time saw two people were playing artifacts and thought I will put slag fiend in my mishra deck that makes sense
