The BRUTAL Execution Of Henry VIII's Monks 

During the reign of King Henry VIII, the infamous Tudor monarch, around 70,000 people were executed during his almost four decades on the throne of England. But some of the most shocking executions saw a number of monks going to their deaths at Tyburn where they were executed by being hanged, drawn and quartered. The Carthusian Monks were a very pious group of Catholic monks and they refused to accept Henry VIII's changes on the Church, and refused to accept him as The Supreme Head of the Church of England.
Because of this, 18 Carthusian monks were executed and killed in a number of brutal ways. Many were hanged, drawn and quartered at Tyburn and also a number were starved to death inside of Newgate Prison. One of Henry VIII's former Privy Councillors was also executed as he refused to accept the changes, and he was a monk too. But the executions of the Carthusian Monks struck fear into the hearts of the people in England, and forced people to accept the King's religious changes.
