While my general spoiler policy comes down to the books that have been out years, my videos are years old, these videos are about the books i have been very disheartened to see a few people have stumbled upon this video and have been upset they now know the fate of a character from the show. While i stand by my position that this is a video about the book lore for book readers made before the show existed, that nowhere do i mention House Of The Dragon, that it is not my responsibility police what you decided to click on. In this singular case i chosen to slightly adjust the tittle and thumbnail to make it a bit less obvious in in event someone does accidentally stumbled across this video due to the algorithm.

What happened to her is what should have happened to Cersei in the end of season 8 by Drogon. If any character deserved that fate it was her.

if you think about it, Jacaerys "Jace" Velaryon is the MVP of the Dance of the Dragon. his diplomatic mission resulted in securing the support of the north. more importantly, the blood pact that he made with Cregan Stark proves the most valuable because even after he and his mother Rhaenyra died, the Lord of Winterfell honored that vow with Jace and went on to win the war for the black installing Rhaenyra's son with Daemon in the iron throne.

What destiny is this! The very golden egg she kept for her brother Baelon, the very egg she retrieved from Daemon in the show, the dragon hatched from that egg itself killed her.

Viserys should've married off Daemon and Rhaenyra after he names Rhaenyra his heir. Marrying Alicent hightower was a mistake. If you think about it, the Prince that was promised came from the line of blood from Daemon and Rhaenyra's and not that of Viserys and Alicent. "From my blood come the Prince that was promised, and his will be The Song of Ice and Fire"

if the KING would have just married his brother to his daughter from the beiging it would have avoided all that Caos... has they married anyway...

I don't know why people are comparing dany to rhaenyra even though they are nothing alike.dany is a grey character while rhaenyra is more black than grey.she is just more sane and less narcissistic version of cersie.

Man i couldn't help myself and googled what happens to her earlier today, didn't expect it at all. I should've know she wouldn't have a good ending, this is GRRM after all. Also - I can't believe Ser Criston Cole turns on Rhaenyra, super keen to find out why that happens - The entire Dance of Dragons and potentially the fall of House Targaryen is largely due to Viserys being a weak king, a good and honourable king but weak decision making.

Like it or not, Aegon II had much more sense than Joffrey. He was a strategist and knew how to use his enemies. Aegon II in the books is represented way nicer than in the show

Dance of the dragons is a straight up tragedy, Both Ageon and Rhaenyra died, and they saw they're wife's/husbands, mothers and children perish, And they started the downfall of the Targaryen family, what's the line, they would never be as powerful or prospers again! killing Aryes and Rheagar was only killing a family that was a pale shadow of their greatness,

The most satisfying scene ever. Can't wait for that.

The hand of the king (hightower) played them all from the beginning and it was only Damien who saw it at first. He made sure that the king removed Damien as heir and set his daughter whose claim to the throne will be easily dismissed while he set his daughter for viserys to marry...

it's so sad they're from the same family and brutal dance killed most of their kin and even if one of them won the wounds of this brutal battle only can leave scars that can't heal truly sad they coul've settled this with simply dialogue

Many comments here suggest how Viserys should never remarry, or should never named Rhaenyra his heir. You are talking with the knowledge on HOW this story gonna end with Dance of Dragons, lead to the downfall of Targs dynasty. But Viserys made decisions based on THE SITUATION at that time. 1. At the beginning, Viserys' heir only Daemon as the only male Targaryen left. But he knows the nature of his younger brother, and predict that if Daemon inherit the throne, he would be a cruel king. So after his son died at birth, and triggered by Daemon's mark "heir for a day", Viserys think to secure the throne for his daughter, who he sees more qualified (other than her gender). At this time, Viserys not thinking about remarry yet. He is thinking he is dying, with his wounds refuses to heal. 2. Then Viserys was pressured to remarry by his council. Maybe he was lonely, but letting just Rhaenyra alone without back up for the heir (away from Daemon) is risky. What if Rhaenyra died? What if Rhaenyra only has daughters (no sons)? So Viserys think, it's his duty to secure the throne further from Daemon by produce more heir. If only Laena Velaryon in the right age at that time, it would be perfect match. But why Viserys not seek further outside his castle for his new queen are still questionable. 3. It turn out that Viserys is not dying as he think, yet. He still lives to produce 3 children with Alicent. But from the start he only sees Alicent's children as a back up, he never has intention to change his decision on his heir. Probably at this point Viserys already regret his decision to remarry, as he saw the Hightower have lust for the throne. At this point, Viserys fails to see a war could broke after he dies. He naively think because the lords of the houses in westeros already swore to Rhaenyra as the heir, then there would be no problem. But a wiser king should named Aegon as heir, even if that would betray his favourite child Rhaenyra. 4. Why not marry Rhaenyra to Aegon instead? By the time Rhaenyra coming to age, Aegon still a little child. Why not marry Rhaenyra to Daemon? It is his purpose from the beginning to prevent Daemon from the throne. Why not making Aegon his heir? Viserys also don't like the idea the Hightower are at power. So all his decisions are mede by the current circumstances, without the knowledge of what we, a reader of Blood and Fire book, knows what will happen.

After rewatching this series and rereading the book, I have concluded that both sides are shit, and despite my support of Rhaenyra over Aegon, I can't help but feel sorry for Aegon II. They both lost so much, it's not a game of whom between them lost the most. Both suffered, and Aegon II blamed her for his children’s deaths and vise verse. This war didn't need to happen, the fault lies with no one person, but if you are to blame someone I suppose I'd blame Viserys I who should have summoned another great council that would have given women rights across the seven Kingdoms, that may have prevented this war. And Rhaenyra could have been wed to Aegon II still as heir of the Iron Throne and her husband as Prince Consort. It is what I would have done if I were in the shoes of Viserys, and I wouldn't have remarried until it was set and stone that my daughter would successfully succeed me. This whole ordeal originates with Jahaerys, Viserys, and Daemon if you ask me. Most specifically Viserys I and Daemon. I could be wrong though.

Rules that Rhaenyra really should have known or thought of: -1) don't let the celtigars be in charge of coin during a war, they are a greedy house that has always been trying to claim taxes from nearby settlements even though they are not under their rule. 2) if you want to keep the city, don't tax your smallfolk to oblivion. 3) dragons are extremely important to your houses power and your legitimacy, if you let them die then you're finished, so if you hear of a mass of people heading to the dragonpit to kill them send every last man there. 4) don't let your hostages die, Heleana is your half sister and kinslaying is a big taboo, they already suspect you approved or ordered the death of her eldest son, and you did order Maelor hunted down and it's believed you smiled at the sight of his corpse, letting a much loved queen and a valuable hostage die is ruin for your cause. 5) Don't fuck a man who looks nothing like your so called husband, and then try and pass off three regular person looking kids as velaryons. 6) Don't order the heads of the two dragonriders who are loyal to you and who stayed by your side faithfully, and then imprison your only remaining big ally. 7) instead of sending your kids to Essos where they could easily come into harm, be stolen, captured, enslaved, killed, or taken as a hostage( which the rogarres did), why not send them to Winterfell where you have a loyal ally, untouchable by the greens, you can stop by the vale another ally on the way, and guest right is sacred. 8) with the Vale, don't just let your cousin do nothing, cause the arryns love nothing more then sitting in the eyrie ignoring everything and everyone, rejecting giving aid to family, Ronnel Arryn's mother, Jeyne Arryn, Lysa Arryn, only give Rhaena if she sends the knights of the vale.

I honestly take a pity toward her son, Aegon. Because he directly watched when she was being burnt by tragically her own dragon. I bet he might have suffered from mental disoreder coz' of it. I have neither read or watched House Of The Dragon series, yet. I have only read and watched Game Of Thrones. I'm interested in Rhaenyra, her life and death.

Honestly I’m so thankful for the actress changes in episode 6. Milly Alcock was fantastic as young Rhaenyra but young and adult Rhaenyra are very different characters with Rhaenyra honestly being comparable to Cersei in some ways. Alcock just seems too charming and precious for an adult version of this character but Emma D’Acry I don’t doubt will perfectly nail the dark side of this character

The ironic thing about the real life version of this story is that both claimants survived… and won. Kinda. The Anarchy ended with King Stephen being allowed to keep the throne, but it would pass to Empress Matilda’s son Henry II instead of his own son. Both would die of natural causes, with Matilda living a long life as administrator of Normandy and advisor to her son Henry II.

I wonder if this will be the stopping point of the show. Or will it continue up until Aegon III regency with Corly's death.

I blame Otto Hightower for this mess… but honestly Rheanyra death was just as bad Daemon’s wife death, they both died and perished in the hands of a dragon 🐉…. I honestly think king Viserys death 💀 was the worst!!! Imagine dying a slow death because you have leprosy… imagine constantly being in pain 24/7 that you loose your limbs, eyes, and your mind 😢. No discrimination whatsoever, I love how the story of her journey shows the consequences of having a woman in power if she wasn't educated properly or pampered by her father. If she had the right advisors, she wouldve ended up as the ruler that Daenerys was meant to be. Instead she ended up as misguided and blinded as Cersei was. She was too busy being hot-headed instead of thinking wisely and strategically, that her arrogance cost her and her followers everything. She could've been like Warrior Queen Nymeria or Daenerys if she had just been wiser and smarter.

You're failing to mention how Rhanaera had gone full psycho by that point. She had had Aegon's baby son murdered in front of his mother. That's why Aegon had her killed in such a brutal way.

GRRM loves to give women tragic endings while Aegon II just got poisoned like many others. I like the universe and the characters but we can clearly see how he portrays women.

Dont forget that Rhaenyra and Daemon ordered something for one of Aegon's children. I wonder how many are going to switch sides once that hapens. And since I'm kind of spoiling things: Aegon had the chance to avenge it and took it. I wonder how many of "us" would've done the same in that time/period if something like that would have happened to us? 🤷🏻‍♀️

She may have lost the battle but she did win the war it is Rhaenyras bloodline who continued on.

Feels like they cant drag this story out on the new show longer than a season or two with all the time jumps.
