Buchla engineer-designer Joel Davel sheds some light on the 208's card slot and how it figures into the general operation of the 208 or 208C. This informal but fairly comprehensive video explains how the card slot works and how it reveals the how the 208 control works in general.

I really love this approach to showing off the Easel or other modules for that matter. I'm hoping to have an Easel or a small 200 cabinet based around the 208 after I've resolved my 200e. Curious if the circuit board on the monitor was a sneak peak tease? Thanks for all the work, Joel.

That's 2nd EMBIO is not connected to anything. It's just there to show the embedded program manager in that EMBIO window

Well I've done the PCB layout on all the Buchla gear since 1995, contributed a lot to new and old designs, was the engineer who updated the 208 to the 208C, and have overseen a lot production. So I tend to have spares and a lot of prototype Buchla hardware in both working and non-working condition. Uh. . . so what were you expecting

@@PSILOCYBINISTHEWAY Ah. I didn't want to give the impression that I'm a wealthy collector of Buchla gear with time on his hands. My goal is to have my Buchla gear performance ready, but I'm constantly pulling it apart to try different user scenarios. So I have pieces of it everywhere. I figured I might as well make a few demo/info videos while I go over the stuff.
