The Bills got younger, added a much needed wide receiver and saved on the cap in the process.I know,I hate giving anything to the Chiefs, but sometimes you got to give something to get something, and I think Coleman has much more upside. He’s bigger, stronger and has great hands.
Coleman is far from a sure thing. They had the chance ro get legette or even Piersol. Both I believe are better than Coleman. Then they has a chance to get a high ceiling player like Adai but passed for Coleman who is slower than molasses and doesn't have a route tree.
@kolleo13 Coleman is a monster within 20 yards and will feast on the small Dbs the nfl puts out there. He gets separation on the short routes. Doesn't have the long speed but who cares the bills needed a chain mover, redzone threat they already had speed
I like the draft for Buffalo. It’s a transition year as BBB said. But next year is the year the Bills go off in the offseason. And hopefully win A World Championship.
It's because there is no real salary implications. The NFL alotts a certain amount for the first year of rookie contracts based on draft positions. Had the Bills, say, moved up into the top 10, they would be in trouble of breaching that amount based on what they would need to pay.
Ramsey is way overrated in my book. Also, Allen has dominated him since his "Allen is trash" comment. So wouldn't be surprised if it happens like Diggs did it agaisnt LA
This comment had me jumping on Google to find the schedule for next season! Maybe I missed something, but I don’t think the NFL releases the schedules until May. So how do you know the Bills have a prime time game on November 14th? 🤔
Thats a REALLY good point about 1st to 2nd round contrcts. ESPECIALLY with the Bills cap room issues. puts a proper perspective on why they traded down and didnt concider moving up. TY, Bills Fans ;)
Think that 4th round pick the Bills received from the Bears, could end up being a top 15 pick for that round, predicting they will finish 3rd in NFC North. Plus with the Vikings having a great chance to come in last in the NFC North, that 2nd round pick could be a top 5 for that round in 2025.
I call that BS if the Chiefs didnt trade with Buffalo they could have traded with someone esle in front of Buffalo. All that would lead to the bills didnt have a 3rd round pick and the chiefs still had Worthy!
FINALLY!!!!! Someone speaking the truth!! Like you said...THe Bills didn't want Worthy! So, if the Bills didn't make the trade with KC, then we wouldn't have got our third round pick, and the Chiefs would still have Worthy!! Why can't some Bills fans understand this!!?? WTF
national media is the only people saying negative of trading w KC. You can't look at a draft in that way if you want to maximize your efficiency. Divisional opponents are another thing but still shouldn't impede anything given it is the best for the franchise
No other team was going to trade their 1st Rd pick to the Chiefs! And being that SanFran and the Panthers both took WRs in the 1st Rd...it's likely that they might have taken Xavier Worthy instead of KC getting thier guy. So essentially, the Bills Fffed up by giving KC the fastest guy in combine history. The last thing we need is another Tyreek Hill on KC team....smh
We werent taking Worthy I dont understand what you guys don't understand, so we stay at 28 and take Coleman and KC gets Worthy, Legette, Ladd it doesn't matter.
I truly believe that Beane and Brady had Keon a their guy they were wanting anyway! He's a real goofball like me, but everything else he's done and said since being drafted has me loving this pick as well! He is ALL about putting in the work and growing as a player! He is definitely not shy and people like that are quicker to ask questions about the things they don't fully understand! He is happy with what he saw in Buffalo in his visits pre draft! I'm excited to see him in action this year!
When Beane has a draft that he drafts a star or more then 2 starters, then it a good draft but in all these years only 1 star, Allen and barely 2 starters a draft, it’s good to dream I guess and convince yourselves the draft was better then it was
tough to draft from a position of weakness. we wont really know how well Beane did till these guys get game time, but, i think he did the best he could with what he had, and with what he needed to accomplish. got a WR, got depth at every need position. give it a solid B atm. as long as Coleman and 2 others pan out and make contributions, then ill raise it a bit. Go Bills! good vid. liked.
only reason to get mad is bc we all stayed up for the last picks in the draft and they traded back twice in the last 4 picks. but Beane did his job superbly yet again
I see a lot of contributors in the draft. May have drafted starting WR, S, C, with rotational, DT, RB, DE and back up slot corner who returns kicks. The only players that doesn’t have a path to play is those 2 athletic/raw tackles. So I am loving it now
I agree. Of course our competition had good drafts...but the Bills draft is sneaky good. Not flashy. But needs were met, now it's time to see how they'll work out. I actually like the diversified WR corps. Really stoked about Davis.
Diggs will not be missed. His production will be redistributed to other receivers this year AND I do no think Beane is done yet finding additional talent
I remember 3 years ago when Beane selected LB Terrel Bernard in the 3rd round….everybody was like, who? Look how that turned out. I trust this scouting department not all the keyboard experts on RU-vid and X.
The people freaking out about trading with KC are being dumb. Its not like they traded a top 5 pick. They traded the 28th pick and KC took a WR most places ranked as the 6th or 7th best WR in the draft. Just because dude is fast people think he will be another Tyreek. 😂. He is 170lbs and is just as likely to be another Mecole Hardman. If anything people should be roasting KC for trading a 3rd round pick to move up for a WR they could have probably got anyway.
@@eats4cheaps305 💯 That’s the only thing I have against the Bills making that move. If I were the Bills, I wouldn’t be willing to trade with Kansas City. At this point you have to treat them like a Division Rival. Anything you do to help them get what they want, hurts you. Of course, according to some analytics that came out last week, Wide Receiver is the least likely position to hit in the draft-so maybe the Bills just let Kansas City trade up for a guy who won’t be good. Not saying I think that-but we never really know how good these moves were until they actually play some NFL games.
@@eats4cheaps305since the bills were not going to draft worthy KC was going to get who they wanted anyway. Trading back saved the bills money on the cap plus they pick up a defensive tackle in the third round and still got the receiver they were going to draft at 28
I’m a bills fan in Buffalo, absolutely no one here thinks we “gave” the chiefs anything. Allen and the bills wanted Coleman, knew they’d be able to get him and basically everything you said, they got him for cheaper while gaining draft capital. They now have Josh Allen, James cook, Ray Davis, Coleman, Shakir, Samuel, claypool, shorter and Isabella. With Kincaid and Knox and a solid OLine. The offense is now younger, faster, bigger and cheaper than last year, they’ll be fine
The Bills did 3 great things; 1 they got rid of Diggs. He's a great talent, but he was poisoning the well. Wouldn't it be something if the Bills won the SB after he left. 2. They got some BIG (not fat and slow) strong, fast players for the O-line. Josh just might have as much time in the pocket as Mahomes. 3. The signed a very underrated WR. I think the Bills went from a great team that may have been starting to age out, to a great team that going to have speed, strength and talent where it's needed. I'm officially excited for the season. Go Bills!!!!!
Coleman is a safer pick than Worthy. Speed only gets you so far and there's 21 other guys on the field. Coleman 's hands, size and contested catch ability made this a no brainier. Saving money on top of that was a bonus!
At first, I thought, WTF....but after thinking it over, I'm in total agreement, Mike! Still,, like tons of Bills fans am holding my breath. We shall see....we shall see.
Plus - KC was probably just trying to jump Carolina to get Worthy. The Bills obviously didn't want Worthy and they didn't want Leggett. So they got the WR they really wanted and saved 3 Million and added draft a rd RD pick and moved up in other picks. This was an outstanding move. Worthy is a one-trick-pony as a speedster and Legett is a showboater. Both are good WRs, but we got the best of the bunch.
AWESOME ANALYSIS. can you please just send this to the ESPN national media who don't understand the cap situation or with how comfortable everyone was w trading Diggs. Josh was literally being hampered with the "I gotta get Diggs his targets or else". He will be a better decision maker not having that nagging in the back of his head at all times. watching the Bills offseason video, everyone just looks happy and ready. an unnecessary weight has been lifted and I can't wait for the national media to eat their words this year
I liked what they did in the draft. You have to keep in mind that they weren’t going to be drafting one of the top receivers in any case. I think Coleman is going to work out great in Buffalo - big, strong kid with a basketball background. The RB they picked up looks like an absolute stud, and they filled a lot of holes and needs. It’s hard when you pay top dollar to a QB but as long as you have Josh, you have a chance for a SB. He will make his receivers great.
Yeah, I don't mind the chiefs trade. Moving back 4 spots but jumping from 4th to 3rd is fine value. The issue I have is moving back with the Panthers. Yes, they save a few million on the front end, but by trading out of the first they lose the 5th year team option on Coleman which is potentially a massive loss. They definitely didn't get enough from the Panthers to lose that year 5 option.
Odunze is a great pick. Allen on the wrong side of 30, been having injury issues, but is a beast, leader and good mentor for a young great potential player.
I don’t care what they say. I love my Buffalo Bills coaching staff, Brandon and McDermott has done a hell of a job Stefon Diggs no worries Gabe Davis no worries go bills❤
Diggs needed to go so I’m glad that drama is over. Wish we would have stayed with 1st round and taken Worthy. Him with Mahomes and Reed dialing up plays spells trouble for the rest of the league. I would not trade with KC, Miami or New England.
It wouldve been great if Javon Bullard had fallen just two more spots in the 2nd round. He wouldve been an upgrade at safety. Maybe Bishop will end up being legit, but Bullard is a beast. Other than that, solid draft.
There last pick was scheduled to be 248, not 228. They started with 10 picks and ended with 10 picks. They didn’t have a 3rd to start with and ended with a 3rd. Decent draft but the best of any team is a real stretch.
Every time we trade with KC, it comes back to bite us in the ass, we traded the 10th pick in 2017 to KC, and they took Patrick Mahomes, now watch this trade comes back to bite us in the ass.
Don’t get fooled. Worthy is no Tyreek. If you look at his stats, deep balls were not his forte. He’s going to be used to replace McKinnon for bubble screens, sweeps, and gadget plays. He also has a problem with dropped passes. I like that Coleman is big, athletic, and has elite hands with a high ceiling.
The elephant in the locker-room is still McDermott. There's a reason no one is being sued for libel over that article talking about his toxic leadership style & that's because it's all true. It's even possible that Diggs was taking it all out on Allen because players can't ever call out their coaches. Who made the decision to fly the team to London less than 48 hours before a game 7 make them play while sleep-deprived? Who got key players injured for the season or the rest of their careers cut short because of that one decision? Who keeps calling high-2 cover shell soft zone defense losing multiple games & even throwing the lead away against the Eagles twice in one game? Sean McVay just hired an assistant because he's self-aware enough to realize that his play-calling turns to garbage in the clutch. This is what McDermott needs. If he doesn't constantly feel the pressure of being The Decision-Maker he might not keep doing this. But even after Brady "took over" the offense McD still kept meddling in it & forcing a return to the long pass plays that are the only things he calls.
They added the worst WR in the top 3 rounds of the draft to save 4 million on the cap. Gave the chiefs the fastest WR in combine history to Andy Reid. It was a horrible decision that means they are not competing for anything this year
Diggs is a talented WR, but he had to go. There needs to be more that one star ball catcher on the team. You have to spread the ball around and keep defenses guessing who Josh Allen will go to, or whether he will just keep the ball.
They got to this place because of over paying players and now they are limited if not strapped in salary cap. Getting rid of experienced and skillful players is going to hurt the Bills this season even though they drafted position players they lost. Plus, I wish the bills would have drafted a few more WR. I think the bills will not make the playoffs this season if not lose the first round of the playoffs due to lack of experienced talent. 2025 when the bills have more draft capital and salary cap can they address their talent needs. Have low expectations in 2024 Bill Mafia!
I didn’t like the Chiefs move. But it looked like a deliberate attempt to be smart about trading by a management team that has only made a handful of mistakes. I trust the process.
The cap situation has 0 bearings on it. There is a "rookie pool" cap set based on the teams draft position. They could have taken Worthy at 28 and have been in the exact same position.
If you really think about it- not a single guy the Bills drafted has played a down in the NFL! In other words, Time will tell! I do like your salary cap points!
I always thought Buffalo needed a big receiver and a bigger back, not sure why von Miller is still there, sucks losing Gabe Davis, Knox is not a great tight end, Kincaid is young, i like a young offensive line, offensive should be pretty good, defensively i don't know
The taking heads were moaning about this trade before they even knew what the bills got in return, the mindset that this was a bad idea is so friggin narrow minded.
Last year injuries definitely were a huge part of the Bills story. I was impressed by how well they did despite all of the defensive injuries! Maybe getting younger will help? Maybe not. But I do think that juggernaut in Kansas City has a lot to do with why the Bills haven’t gotten to the big game yet.
The Bills had the 28th pick, so they could have drafted Worthy. They didn't value Worthy at that spot. If the Bills picked a different player other then Worthy the chances were very high the Chiefs would have gotten him at 32 anyhow, and you don't draft players to your team just so they don't go to another team. That's not how you team build.
very wishful thinking expecting every draft pick to play at a starter level. The truth is u are lucky to get 2 starters from any draft especially in year 1. Buffalo needs to win now not build for later.
