With Jill's whole PTSD thing, Im kinda sad they didn't touch on it but I would like to think of it as mild PTSD. She flashbacks and night terrors later on in the game, so maybe her trauma really only triggers when she is waking up and or sleeping. Also, I don't think she has time to sit around, sob, mope, and be scared all game when she's being hunted by a bioweapon and zombies. Not saying your point doesn't stand, it's just that she is a past S.T.A.R.S member who has been trained to deal with shit like this. Either way she's gonna suck it up and keep surviving. Comparison: Ellie from TLOU 2 did have time sit around, mope, sulk, be depressed because she has slow parts in her game. Unlike Jill, CapCom likes to keep us on our toes and constantly has us running around in a panic of a huge map. That's just my take on the whole Jill ptsd thing.

I didn't like this remake for all the reasons you stated and some. I'm not sure why Capcom decided to completely change Jill. Her looks only barely resembles her original and Julia Voth version. Then Capcom completely changed her personality and made her foul mouthed and snarky.

I honestly feel that 3make was more a game suited for difficulty, as the dodge mechanic becomes more and more important as you raise the difficulty. The final fight with Nemmy on nightmare is brutal if you're bad at dodging.

Inferno, I died to the final nemesis fight like 20-40 times, not because it was a tough battle and I kept just happening to not have enough healing items to get through, but because I'd mess up one dodge and get stun locked to death

Mikhail and Nicholai keep being referred to as the same character during multiple of this video’s plot discussion bits, but they were separate characters in the story; the latter wasn’t the person who shot someone on his own team out of suspecting they were infected for instance.

I think this video was great; even for those who swear by the remakes. I agree with pretty much all you said cause I played both remakes and liked them both. This game however I didn't enjoy as much. I played re2 remake multiple upon multiple times doing everything. Re3 remake I played once and immediately lost interest and I never knew why, but I couldn't help agreeing with everything you said. I always enjoy your videos, and I'm looking forward to your next one.

I'm convinced that the point of Jill being so quiped is that she's dealing with the situation in a way of massive adrenaline being having 1 liners and and stunt hero action because she's useing her fear to be better

I enjoyed the game personally, but the length wasn't an issue for me. I can deal with 6 hour campaign if they used the length time correctly, but my biggest problem was the same thing that poised RE5 and RE6 and that's linear and scripted interactive set pieces. I was surprised that RE2 remake ditched that kind of trend and focused solely on Metroid-esque level design and in a way went back to the fundamentals of the classic RE games. RE2 remake isn't perfect, but they brought back the exploration element, something that RE7 tried to do but it felt so basic and by the numbers that it got ditched in the second half of the game for more action packed events and, like RE3 remake, had problems with scripted uninterrupted set pieces. And I thought we're way past the trend of arbitrary and forced quick-time events so I'm disapponted that RE3 remake has them. And I also commend RE2 remake for not having any quick-time events outside of context sensitive button prompts. RE3 remake also had tons of missed potential. They cut out many pivotal elements from the original and tried to add new stuff but went absolutely nowhere with it. Jill having PTSD from Spencer Mansion incident was a neat idea that felt completely underutilized. It made sense to have side effects to your psyche after witnessing horrific events, but how does that add to the campaign when you can still play it like a third person shooter? Dodge mechanic felt like a good improvement over the original even though it still feels kind of janky. Carlos is a more likeable character this time around and Nikolai feels like a more interesting and cunning antagonist. I was disappointed that there isn't much to it when you beat the main campaign outside of the unlockable difficulty and collecting shop points. No new modes (Mercenaries), no epilogue notes, no alternative routes. Multiplayer mode doesn't count since you can install it separately from a disc. It felt like a missed potential that needed more development time but it's still a fun game.

My gripe is the price tag with this game. It was way smaller than 2 but was $20 more. Were it $30 I honestly would have been ok with the game we got. It was the increase of money for less content.

The fact that you can feasibly beat this game in it's entirety in a little bit more then this video's length is very telling

TLDR; I think that the catch 22 of RE remakes is the delicate balance of Horror and Action, RE8 I feel went that route and although I could be the problem I enjoyed the mix even if Action was more blended into the RE games… RE2 was fun but RE3 has been my first Platnum Trophy on PS4 (mostly bc it isn’t a long game to begin with) but I have been enjoying RE8 more than RE7 (probably bc resource management is very much needed to succeed in that game) once you offer a boat load of bullet in a horror game that fear of running out is no longer there

7 might be the new best modern RE 5 is the best co op 3 remake is made for speed runs and challenges like no hit etc… 4 is overrated 1 is classic old school smart horror and tough Revelations are back to form but indie and low budget. 8 is the mainstream streamer game

They cut way too much stuff out of the game. Removed costumes, removed entire sections of the game, and (the worst offense in my opinion) they removed Mercenaries. The game just does not offer enough content unless you are interested in 100% completion. Compare that to RE2 Remake which gave you 4th Survivor, Tofu, Claire/Leon’s campaign (depending on who you did first), as well as the A/B scenarios (even though those were half lacking)This game gives you...more difficulties...that’s it. compare it to 2002 REmake which offered costumes, Invisible Enemy, the realistic Item Box, One Dangerous Zombie, etc...An 18 year old game offers more variety than a $60 game in 2020 and that is stupid.

i hate when someone does a review on game that’s based on remake without doing any research on the original i get at the time you couldn’t go out and buy a console and play for yourself , but you could have watched a play through on the same platform you used to upload your review with that being said i do agree with several points you made and commend you for finishing the game (for a review) i myself have not (finished the game) i feel like i’m being put through an assignment/chore rather than through an actual experience which other RE titles have done much better before lets just hope they don’t mess up RE4 remake🤦🏻‍♀️ and i hope you’ve played the original or do so before you make your review for that one

I see resident evil remakes as percentages for example resident evil 1 remake is 100% faithful to the original. Resident evil 2 remake is 75% faithful, and resident evil 3 remake is 25% faithful.

I didn't know people didn't like Ethan. He's probably my favorite protagonist,and he got even better in Village. Even in resident evil 7,he seemed to be the most realistic character in the series (at least in cutscenes and some parts of gameplay) He wasn't the "oh look at me i'm so strong watch me punch zombies and rocks" or the "oh look at me i'm the badass emo-haired one liners guy" he was just someone that was trying to survive and save his girlfriend.

Re 4 is good for the fist but but get really boring as it's too long. I mih prefer this game.

I hate re 2 it is all the boring parts without the fun you get 3 bosses and the rest is boring ass puzzles that get boring after the first playthrough. I really regret buying it
