bro exactly this. i first started playing source games over a decade ago and even got into bhop, surf, kz early on. if any game doesn't have the same movement its not enjoyable.
It's like I know what you mean. I spent hundreds of hours playing on Garry's Mod servers with CS physics and game modes (deathrun, climb (GM name for kz), surf) and using A/D while jumping is just so ingrained in my brain I don't even notice doing it in other games.
I think i torrented like 100gbs of games my pc couldn't run and thought "I'll come back and play these games when I have a pc that can run them" only for them to be so outdated I wasn't interested in playing them anymore..
Lmao, I didn't keep anything but I had the same feeling about some games I couldn't run at the time, thought as soon as I upgrade I will play them and by then I lost interest in majority of them.
im a hardcore titanfall2 player and the amount disgust i feel when i play any fps game where you cant build up momentum is so immense. how can any game compete with flying around like spider man on roller blades in a pinball machine with projectile based 1 hit sniper. i dont think a better fps game will ever be made. also i encourage anyone to play some titanfall2 and learn the movement, its probably the most forgiving source movement game while also having the highest skill ceiling. the game is very alive and if you want community modes and servers instead of vanilla, northstar mod is wonderful
totally agree, I played through it twice and I might play it again just cause there's else nothing like it, if Apex had Titanfall 2 movement I would've played it so much more
@@MommysGoodPuppy nothing in particular, I think you misunderstood what I meant, I would play more Apex if it had the wall running and bunnyhopping from Titanfall, Apex movement is so nerfed in comparison
@@qyuetxits totally gone to shit, with braindead /v/ organizing events with micspam sounds, screaming n word, total schizofest. Misfire is the only good server left. It has an XP system which is p nice
warsow vets have got this, except it's a brand of movement only in one game (split in two server browsers). I don't envy them, but I feel like the time for me to get decent at source has passed, because that modified idtech 2 has seeped in and replaced it. The dash/walljump move raises the effective speed cap and enables really spectacular ascents and orbits. It feels like the logical extreme of quake movement, and nothing else plays like it.
warsow has to be the fastest pace game I've ever seen, looks incredibly complicated to learn, most of my hours are on goldsrc movement, even just playing defrag on momentum mod completely breaks my muscle memory with holding W an bumping into walls retaining full speed
