The Blackwoods vs Brackens thing is more complicated than "just some rocks". Those rocks are there to mark the boundaries of their respective (neighboring) land. If someone moved those rocks, it means that they are claiming more land that belongs to the other side. Claiming territory belonging to another ruler has been grounds for war since the dawn of civilization. And if I remember correctly, this kind of shit happened constantly between these two. They were always fighting over land because they were neighbors and always taking land that belonged to the other and then they take it back plus some, on and on it goes. Also, if there is a family out there that has stolen your property, killed some of your people, murdered your cousins and siblings and parents and children, etc, it honestly does not matter what initially started the beef between the two because the blood is so bad between them that they have more than enough hatred to go on forever with revenge killings. And every single time a fight breaks out, whether it is a large scale battle like at the mill, or if it's just two guys in a tavern where one gets shanked, in every single instance it just adds more fuel to the fire of their hatred for one another and the confirmation bias that everything about their rival faction is evil and seeks to destroy you and yours. I mean shit, one of them straight up killed the other in the throne room to impress Princess Rhaenyra when she was still a teenager. And the one that died was mocking the one that killed him before it happened. Both sides hate each other so much, they constantly do things to give the other side justification to straight up kill them. The dumbest motherfucker of them all was that boy that had a sword pointed at him and said "You wouldn't dare" because OF COURSE THEY WOULD, it aint the first time this kind of shit has happened. For him to walk over on his land and say he wouldn't dare kill him was the dumbest thing a person could possibly do.

If you remember the end of season one, the Green Council was already planning to usurp Rhaenyra for Aegon and Alicent telling them about Viserys's last words just gave them the appearance of legitimacy. They always losing🌚) last season when Rhaenyra was entertaining her suitors. The Blackwoods say the Brackens were horse breeders and petty lords who hired sellswords (mercenaries) to usurp the Blackwood kings. The Brackens say that they were kings, and that the Blackwoods were their vassals who betrayed and usurped them. The Blackwoods also don’t fuck with the Brackens ditching the Old Gods and adopting the Faith of The 7. Blackwoods say it was 500 years ago, Maesters say 1000; nine of it matters because they’re no longer kings of the Riverlands and they never can be. 19:45 I like to think the Singer in the Weirwood was tryna help Daemon work out his marriage troubles. 21:00: She’s pretty much fine as long as her hair’s covered. Alicent is just delulu.😭 Rhaenyra was the acting heir since she was 8(in the books), she did all of the heir duties even after her brothers were born. She sat at the foot of his throne when he listened to petitions, sat beside him during Small Council meetings, etc. They highlighted this last episode a lil when they showed Aegon taking petitions: he never learned how to rule because he was never supposed to be king. Viserys didn’t just name her heir and then never speak of it again. The matter came up a lot during his rule and he never faltered in his decision. It wasn’t even just a verbal “Rhaenyra is my heir” either. He had her written down as heir in his will. Otto and Alicent were always pressing him about making Aegon heir and he would tell them no. He fired Otto because he wouldn’t accept that Rhaenyra was Viserys’ heir. Which is ironic because Otto was the one who suggested Rhaenyra be named heir in the first place. Alicent constantly pressed Viserys to marry Aegon and Rhaenyra and he said no. He told Lord Strong she just wanted her blood on the throne. But probably the best evidence of how much he considered Rhaenyra his ruler is after Laena’s funeral. In the books, the Strongs died AFTER Laena’s funeral. The whole eye thing caused Viserys to decree Alicent and their kids would come to the Red Keep with Viserys, and Rhaenyra and her sons would be confined to Dragonstone. He then ordered Harwin to return to Harrenhal and for Ser Erryk to replace him as Rhaenyra’s sworn guard. Then the Strongs burn to death(some ppl think Viserys did it to kill Harwin, but that’s really not his character). But when Viserys is considering a new hand he first considers Rhaenyra. The only reason he doesn’t name her hand is because he doesn’t want the conflict between her and Alicent to start again if she returned. Anyways, love yall reactions. I doubt yall got time to read the books, so I hope some lore drops can help make the experience of the show a little better.

its not necessarily alicent having too much pride, its that she knows she no longer possesses control over the course of events that are to come. her father, who was essentially the last string of reason on team green, was recently fired n the negligence she had w/ her kids has led them to have their own agenda. even if she told the council that she was wrong n made a mistake, they would all most likely conclude the same thing; that no one has control over their drunkard king n blood has already been spilled. they dont even take aegon seriously.

People forget that Otto and the small council already had plans in place to make Aegon the king before Alicent told them about what she heard Viserys say. That's why she said there was no mistake. Aegon was going to be made king regardless.

25:39 Not exactly, Viserys wasn't just telling a bedtime story on his deathbed. What Alicent heard was Visery's reply to what Rhaenyra had asked him the night before. He thought he was talking to Rhaenyra. To jog your memory: In the episode 8 of S1, when Luke's inheritance of Driftwood came under threat, Rhaenyra came to Viserys alone at night to beg for him to defend her and Luke's claim. During this, she also asked him if he really believed the prophecy of the Song of Ice and Fire and if she would be the one to unite the realms. Viserys did not answer because he was still out of it and under the influence of the Milk of the Poppy but he still her heard her. It's the next day when Viserys starts refusing Milk of the Poppy, shows up to defend Luke's claim, hosts dinner and all. It's after all that, that when Viserys is on the verge of dying later that night and Alicent happens upon him and hears him say "You wanted to know if I believe it to be true" and Alicent is confused, but Viserys is like "Don't you remember? Aegon? His Dream. It is true..." and so on about the Prince That Was Promised. He was answering Rhaenyra.

I love how so many people talk smack about team green, while Rhaneys literally tells Rhaynara your no better lol. You literally started a war by going years with out ever telling Alicent and Aemond sorry about the eye, shit got crazy lol. But get mad when the first chance Aemond can get his get back, he takes it. You took his eye for that dragon, so now you can die by that same dragon

To be fair there's like two Aegon's right now, so even without the whole song of ice and fire thing it still would be easy for what he said on his deathbed to not make sense. Then now we add the whole the first Aegon to the mix. Well while the plan was not thought out I feel it was needed as both parties now know there is no avoiding the war. Though to be fair, with the whole perception being important as we saw in previous episodes, Rhaenyra didn't want to be the one to start the war, but the fact Aemond losing control of Vhagar and chomping her kid, and since it seems like most people heard about it, that alone could be enough to point the Greens as the one to start to conflict. Then we had the whole assassination attempt, then Daemon doing his thing, I do feel that it should have been clear there was no avoiding the conflict, but taking their characters and their past into account, this validation might still be needed. I just wish we got longer seasons, so we would have more time to really build on the characters, but I saw a lot of people hate on the episode for the lack of action and that it was slow and boring, which I dislike because I feel the rushing through the events the show is doing makes it hard for certain things to be impactful and enjoyable as it could have been. Imagine if we had a bit more time with Harwin, before he got burned, it would have been a bit more impactful than it was, since he (I know he showed up a few times before) was really only in that one episode. I like slower pacing, it easier to get invested in the story. I am a little bummed we didn't get to see the battle of the burning mill, I'll admit. That's just my opinion though.
