This beautiful young man was born with a very old soul deeply rooted in blues music. His band is equally talented as anyone can see but Lech carries this Ray Charles song with chops. Wish Ray could have met him.
@@stevenwells7585 white as the driven snow! I’ve seen the Honeydrops live a couple of times. Great group. His name is Lech Wierzynski. From Warsaw, Poland! Yep, they got the blues there, too.
@@stevenwells7585Just like Steve Marriott sang in Black Coffee "My skin is white, but my soul is black" Yup, Steve and this cat have the gift!! No color barrier's in music!
I am finding it very difficult to add a suitably grand compliment to this singer and the whole band. They have all got what it takes to stop whatever one is doing and listen to them and get totally absorbed by this tune originally made by the greatest of them all, Ray Charles. Thank you all and Ray Charles for this wonderful gift
Isn't it a trip that Lech is from Poland? Dude was born to sing soul music, God bless this beautiful talent.. fills me up with good juju, that's for sure!
It's a shame that we can only here this right here on RU-vid. It's a blessing that we can here it on RU-vid. You all should be on the radio. Brother from another mother. You can saaaaang!!! I can feel that energy from the singer and the entire ensemble playing. Awesome!!!
This was absolutely awesome. I'm speechless. So inspired and touching, such a great voice with incredibly beautiful lines, great sax solo too and band dynamics... Simply Perfect.
Wow! Yes...this guy can sing! My new favorite band! Ive never heard a better version of this tune. I met a couple of these guys last week at Oregon Country Faire...great band, talented nice guys and Lech, the singer is just amazing to hear! Dig!
It brings a tear into my eyes When I begin to realize I've cried so much since you've been gone I guess I'll drown in my own tears I sit and cry just like a child My pouring tears are runnin' wild If you don't think you'll be home soon I guess I'll drown, oh yes, in my own tears I know it's true, mm hmm, into each life Oh, some rain, rain must pour I'm so blue here without you It keeps a-raining more and more Why can't you come on home? Oh yes so I won't be all alone If you don't think you'll be home soon I guess I'll (drown in my own tears) Oh, don't let me (drown in my own tears) When I'm in trouble, baby (drown in my own tears) Oh let me in, don't let me (drown in my own tears) I guess I'll drown in my own tears Woh, mmmmm
Wish some kickass background singers could pipe in with your Bad Selves on this out of this world version of one truly iconic tunes! Ray Charles is smiling up in heaven!
This must be the 100th time this crowd has heard this song. Explains why they're so quiet while listening to this amazing performance. I'd have been hooting and applauding all the way through!!
Oh, yeah! Make us feel it, Baby Boy! Such quality blues from each talented young man in this fabulous group! They feel each note to it’s fullest making one feel that we are the instruments they are playing!
Absolutely spot on! A huge fan from Brazil. Wish I had the opportunity to play all those awesome tunes with a band as talented as this here. Maybe one day... if not I’ll have to drown in my own tears ;-)
Suer would have liked to hear the Commitments do this one. Andrew Strong could hammer it. Or Angelina Ball. I think it would be Andrew. But these guys are good.
Really nice cover, but this reminds me even more of the Johnny Winter version than the Ray Charles version. Especially the vocal. Johnny had his brother Edgar on piano. If you haven't heard Winter's version, you should.
They’re drinking and laughing and talking while he’s channeling. Horrible life. The problem is he never takes off. He can’t. He’s got 9/10ths. Ray had 10/10ths. A shame. Ray would explode after the buildup. I think this guy could, but he doesn’t.
