No question about it. A CLASSIC. Great camera work, creepy german title cards, wild hair on Dr C, great cabinet workmanship for cesares abode, the fake paper maiche scenery was breathtaking, and no intrusive noise except for the crow. Superb psycho-drama from long ago. Cant wait to go sleep walking. FIVE BIG STARS! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Caw!

How the painted sets merge with the actors and props is simply breathtaking, what a wonderful piece of art

I can't get the Portlandia episode of The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari out of my mind.

The soundtrack here kinda reminds me of a Super Nintendo JRPG at times.

Is this an original soundtrack? I love it, but have never heard anything from the period like it. Then again I've never seen anything from the period like this film either.

Ésta es una de las mejores películas que he visto en mi vida. Que música tan hermosa. La iluminación bellísima. El drama, el misterio y el terror se combinan en un exquisito cóctel de visiones cinematográficas. Es difícil superar éste estilo cinematográfico pero por qué será que los nuevos genios de la dirección cinematográfica no recogen lo mejor de ésto y complacen al público pagador con buen cine 🤷🏼‍♀️?

The ending actually took me off guard. It is cliche by today standards, but it works in this movie and i would have loved to see the original audiance reaction to that ending. However the pacing was of from time to time and i felt there were some plotholes, but considering the plot structure, it kindam ake sense. Like the expressionistic set designs. Btw am i the only one, who instantly thought of an 80s goth, when The Sleepwalker is showed the first time? xD O_O Btw btw. I have never even read about what the plot was. So it was refreshing to watch a 104 years old movie, blind. :D

A huge influence, but topped for me with The Testament Of Dr. Mabuse. Which eventually became Hannibal Lecter of course. Super villain genius!
