I Lived in Cabrini Green at 862 North Sedwick Apt 607! The best people and the best times of my life and thank god for face book! I'm reconnecting all my friends I knew back then!
@@kurtlamprecht93 oh yes whitey aka ( powder) I promise i won't 💯 and I save all the Meth just for you and your family members OH Yes my whitey Brother i got you lol 😂 💯 👍 👍 👍
I think the failure to revitalize Cabrini Green was intentional. It was too far gone to repair but I feel so badly for the displaced. I'm sure not everyone got an apt😒
They built them high rises to lower your self esteem to put all the poorest people in one big vacant area with nothing to look for basically to kill each other with no security and to keep Chicago segregated
Bullshit. Pull your damn pants up, stop talking like a gangster moron, lower your eyes and get that insecure arragance out of your attitude. Learn in school. Make better choices. Your "victimhood" is life's fault?
Were the buildings poorly maintained, yes. Do the people in the projects deserve better, yes. How about work programs and paid internships for the people trying to better themselves instead of having them have no choice then to resort to gangs and dealing? I wouldn't be able to afford to live in the city. Cook county is too damn expensive, and the politicians are all crooks. They never use the money for what its ment for. That's why so many people are leaving Illinois in general.
Better governance than 90% of the country especially compared to the south and west , please list any other states with better schools and governance aside from some in the north east
Such a tragedy when the state decided to move these project people into good neighborhoods. They have completely destroyed those neighborhoods. People have to face the hard truth that these kinds of people destroy good areas.
I read an article in Time magazine a couple of years ago about Stateway Gardens(projects)in Chicago. It was about the last building in that project before they tore it down.Granted there were generations of families that lived in Stateway. One guy had lived there since 1958 when they 1st opened the place.I'll say most of the people in the projects are'nt trouble makers anyways. It just seems that way because they're being eeked out by the young men in those bad,bad neighborhoods.Saying it nicely.
i agree, look at all the mexican immigrants, they work, there is ALWAYS some sort of job you can find with no education, but people don't want to do it because it's manual labor, but that's why it's called WORK.
The coal mines? Gigantic difference. My Grandpa was born in the Pullman neighborhood(south side)He worked at a chicken processing plant when he was a teen-ager(not far from the stockyards)He never ever ate chicken again in his entire life after that.I know WV is beautiful. That kid from that MTV show Buckwild passed away a couple of days ago. That was shocking. I loved the show.We watched it every week. That's West Virginia,Right?
No you just have poor comprehension skills because he said nobody else was doing these charitable acts for these specific kids in Cabrini, he didn’t say nobody else in the world does charity.
This happened here in austin tx they took the east side which is rite down town moved the blacks out put in condo and million dollar home high taxes people that owned there home have to move cant pay high taxes
I mean honestly if your living of the government you gotta live where the government tells you to live. Beggars cant be choosers. Very interesting history there though.
THE KEKRONOMICON it’s easy to say that when you don’t know how bad systematic oppression was imposed on black communities blacks have always tried to be self made self respected it’s sad whites treated them throughout history.
Did African Americans have the freedom to live where they wanted 1960's-1970's could they walk into most neighborhoods?? LMFDO Guess you flunked middle school history
@@Malignus68aside from the fact that the overwhelming majority of drug users are white kids from the suburbs and still are , and that the redevelopment plan happened exactly like the first speaker said .......
I know that's for sure..I'm from the Lakeview neighborhood. Both my Mom and Dad grew up there too.I know this neighborhood and Lakeview are 2 different Chicagos. You do have to want it bad enough.I'm a woman..not a Mr.My husband and I are moving out of Cook county all together.TAXES..Yep to high. We're moving to Dupage.I'm all city..but the Taxes. We DO want it bad enough.Sometimes here the taxes monthly are higher then the actual mortgage.Sorry I'm off topic. It all sucks.I love this city though.
And dont forget they also Very much get relocated ALL OVER the western suburbs of dupage, kane, etc...... I heard that theres quite a few Cabrini green residents living out in real nice SECTION 8 Townhouses' out in PLAINFIELD which is is southwest suburb of chicago. Theres a few apartment complex' on the other side of my town that rents out to Section 8 and theres inner city people living there. Theres been 4 drug busts there already at one of the apartment complex's.
You say people want to sell drugs because it is the easy way out to support your family...but at the risk of getting killed!!! NO THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And yet there is still more drugs than ever , 90% of the customer base are lilly white kids from the suburbs, the only difference between then an old now is there is no decent affordable housing near downtown
YES WE KNW WHAT IT IS....TURN BACK TO THE MOST HIGH OR FOREVER GO THRU THAT SHIT....THAT SHIT IS AN ILLUSION AND YOU HAVE THE POWER TO TURN IT AROUND BY TURNING BACK TO THE MOST HIGH CREATOR....HE IS WAITING....HE SAID YOU WILL REBUILD...BUT HE WILL CONTINUE TO THROW DOWN!...MALACHI 1:4....WE NEED TO LET THEM KNW WHO WE REALLY ARE...THE MOST HIGH'S CHOSEN PEOPLE WHO WILL ONCE AGAIN RULE BUT WE MUST REALIZE
Who is they ? Public housing was destroyed years ago , it's one of the richest neighborhoods in the city exactly like the individual interviewed at 2-3 minutes stated
Lmao its crazy people have so much to say about chicago but we the strongest city in usa from getting talked about to killings we are the strongest we take so much bullshit from outsiders that dont know the strugglebut quick to criticize
i'm sure there are some black in the chi who got money & if not thats kinda sad cuz its a big city if 75 persent of blacks are doing are doing bad this is bad im lost if u know somevbout that kick game to me
Drugs and drug dealers. When you from a bloodline filled with people who barley know truth to pass down and keep ya spirit up and the kids to have a reason to feel what you sayin is important you wont have this. but hey thats what it is. and theres alot of young people so that bein said when they understand how to raise a kid they kid already seein they selfs as being grown at an early age like they parents. it be all a cycle.
Alisha Houston I live in Chicago and I can say for a fact that 75% of the African Americans aren’t doing bad. Most of the African Americans live in working class to middle class and sometimes upper middle class communities. The news just doesn’t show that
@@rayray2233A bloodline? You are hilarious , what bloodline are the customers? Oh that's right 90% lilly white from the exurbs many driving in from Iowa and Indiana , bloodline LMAO
