PLACES WE WENT (in order of appearance - blog post coming at the end of our trip):
General’s Highway leading to The General Sherman Tree - great spot in Sequoia National Park!
Bocca
John Muir Lodge (where we stayed in Sequoia National Park) - annaed.it/2X0DjOu - a decent enough spot in the National Park with beds that were SO COMFY.
Yosemite West Loft Condominium (where we stayed in Yosemite National Park) - annaed.it/2wiR1Az - pricey for what you get, but you pay for the brilliant location here.
Tunnel View - just as good as everyone says, get there early as it fills up quick with buses full of tourists QUICK.
Mirror Lake Trail - an easy little hike and Mirror Lake is UNREAL (we walked along to Lower Yosemite Falls afterwards and that was beautiful too, although much, much busier).
Mist Trail & Vernal Falls - a slightly more challenging walk that was pretty busy, but SO cool! Recommend turning right along towards Clark Point at the top of Vernal Falls to get off the beaten track a bit and for an easier way back down.
The Coachman Hotel - annaed.it/2W0Z4Bx - absolutely LOVED this place, such a cool spot. Friendly service, chic rooms and here for all the little special touches.
Lake Forest Beach & Emerald Bay - both places to stop off for great views around Lake Tahoe.
We were playing SPEED with cards - the best two person card game IMO, read up on the rules here - annaed.it/2EyvZ5v
Magpie Cafe - annaed.it/2JF45ZE - nice spot for brunch/lunch in Sacramento
California State RailRoad Museum - annaed.it/2K3q5Nt - I have to admit that this was actually a brilliant museum. So much fun!
Beltane Ranch - annaed.it/30K3j32 - we blew the budget by staying here, but it was AMAZING. Our favourite place we’ve stayed this trip so far.
Girl & The Fig - annaed.it/2QqjptJ - the Strawberry Salad was SO FRICKING GOOD.

Would love to see a recap of your travel capsule once you’re home, what you wish you’d taken, things you were really glad you had, any tips you think are useful, etc. It’s always so tricky packing for trips that have such a variety of climates but it looks like you’ve nailed it. Just returned from a long weekend in San Francisco and while resting up looked here and saw where you had gone for 3 weeks to California. I may have just missed you in Sonoma Square as I was there on Saturday standing in the same place in the rose garden Mark was standing discussing City Hall. Just finished watching the first two weeks’ vlogs as well as your packing one, and thoroughly enjoyed them. You put a lot of thought into your content. Can’t wait to see next week’s vlog in San Francisco and your wrap up video rating your packing. Hope you all have the best time driving the coast.

California has been in a drought for years. This year however we have had loads of rain (for Cali) which equals no more drought but it has lasted longer than we are use to. Rain=snow, so you gotten to experience this rare late May storm. Looks like you’ve made the most of it. I truly enjoy you both!

welcome!!! I know what you mean about the weather. I used to live just over the mountain in northern Nevada and I have seen it snow a bit in July. Living in the area you never know what to expect from one hour to the next. My husband's family is in California and we drove through the mountains many times and would experience all 4 seasons before descending into the valley.

Wow, it looks like your enjoying yourselves immensely. I spent a week in Tucson Arizona recently and enjoyed the laid back desert life. I'm a northern California native and yes we were definitely shocked at the weather that week! it almost never snows or rains this Time of year but glad you still had fun! I love Yosemite Tahoe area soooo beautiful.

You were right in my back yard in this video. You had to drive through my town to get to Fresno. I live in a small farming town so you probably didn't even know you were driving through it. Growing up my family and I would camp in Yosemite every fall. I hope you are having a great time. California is great but we are a big state so there is a lot of driving.

As someone who currently lives in Fresno and grew up just outside of Sequoia National Park, it was so fun to watch this vlog and see things from your perspective! Even though there were some snowy days, I really think this is one of the best times of the year to go to Yosemite! I have been to these places so many times and I love it, but it was really fun to watch you experience them for the first time 😊 Also a little crazy to think that you had lunch about 5 minutes from my house! I should have sent you suggestions, but I didn’t think of it. Though it looks like you got some good recommendations!

Absolutely brilliant vlog Anna. Loved every bit of it. We got back from California 3 weeks ago after a 3 week road trip. It was absolutely amazing. We were lucky with much better weather in Yosemite. But seeing your snowy pictures, I want to go again when it snows. 😍😍😍😍

Mirror Lake and Vernal Falls are quite possibly THE best of rural Northern California that I fear so many of my UK friends never get to. I am beyond thrilled that you got a nice dusting of powder for your experience up there!
