Morning Call to Prayer in Istanbul. I am posting this for the incredible soundscape that occurs as the prayer echos up and down the Bosphorus. May all beings be well and happy and free from fear.
Trust me, i'm a Christian myself but every time i listen to a prayer's call in Istanbul, it's the most amazing, mythical, sacred sound i've ever heard!!!
I am in Istanbul right now listening to the prayers during Ramadan. Beautilful, Soulful, Humble, Righteous. Keep God on your mind. Be good ... Do good.
Me too! Have always felt a strong connection to this sound. If we have past lives, I think I very well could have been in one of the countries that has these beautiful calls to pray!
The call for prayer, Adhan, never stops. Its continue 24/7 in the entire world. Because of time diffrence. When it end somewhere it starts somewhere else. And with this it never gets silence. Each minute somewhere in the world the call for prayer is song
I'm not a religious person, but each time I've visited Istanbul and I hear the call to prayer like this; mingling with calls from other mosques and and echoing through the Bosphorus, I get genuine chills. So haunting and so beautiful.
I remember when I been to Istanbul several times.. on one morning I woke up really early before the azan to sit up on the sundeck on the roof of the hotel with a cup of coffee..then azan.. there was a Greek Orthodox church down the street that was ringing it's bells the entire time of the azan along with the Azan
I’m in Istanbul right now! I have been loving these calls to prayer even though I can’t fall back asleep afterwards lol . Thank you for posting this video!
Each mosque has it's own time to call worshipers. These times are determined by the location of the mosque relative to Mecca. Amazing experience that touches the soul.
İts not relative the mecca its basic time of world approximatly 4 min difference every 114kms all mosques in same city only takes + - 1 min to start and end of prayer whole sequence takes max 5 min
Thank you very much. Adhan’s meaning in English Allahu Akbar God is Great (said four times) Ashhadu an la ilaha illa Allah I bear witness that there is no god except the One God. (said two times) Ashadu anna Muhammadan Rasool Allah I bear witness that Muhammad is the messenger of God. (said two times) Hayya ‘ala-s-Salah Hurry to the prayer (Rise up for prayer) (said two times) Hayya ‘ala-l-Falah Hurry to success (Rise up for Salvation) (said two times) Allahu Akbar God is Great [said two times] La ilaha illa Allah There is no god except the One God For the pre-dawn (fajr) prayer, the following phrase is inserted after the fifth part above, towards the end: As-salatu Khayrun Minan-nawm Prayer is better than sleep (said two times)
Azan means ... Allah is the Almighty GOD. Allah is the Greatest. Allah is the Greatest. I testify, there is none worthy of worship except Allah (Almighty God). I testify, there is none worthy of worship except Allah (Almighty God). I testify that Muhammad ( Peace be upon Him) is the Messenger of Allah. I testify that Muhammad ( Peace be upon Him) is the Messenger of Allah. Come to prayer. Come to prayer. Come to Salvation. Come to Salvation. Allah is the Greatest. Allah is the Greatest. There is no God but Allah.
Like something out of Cecil B. DeMille's Samson and Delilah. From 1949. When the Philistine Delilah, agonizing over her betrayal of Samson, whom she loves, rises from her sleepless bed in Gaza as the dawn is breaking and looks out upon the city from the palace of the Saran. And she hears the call of the watchman at that hour... .
This life is like a sand, the more you press it in your hand, the more it will come out. Those who truly love Allah do not do anything against Allah's religion, they only live in this world according to Allah's religion.
Turks and countries of Spanish decent have much in common due to shared Roman heritage. I'm hispanic and they often asked if I was Turkish. English is widely spoken in Istanbul, so you'll have a great time.
I from Syria and we have the same method for prayer calling (using speakers) and it was a struggle for me trying to wake up. Unless you live next to a 🕌 it won’t affect your sleeping 😴 at all
I visited Istanbul years ago. I remember I woke up the first night and absolutely loved to hear all these prayers from different minarets around us. The mornings afterwards I just slept through them (being 18 y old and not a morning person)
In İstanbul tradition, each prayer has a different sound. Among all, morning prayer is called in a thrilling way. It is meant to be scary. But I guess the quality of the recording made it a little scarier than it actually is
Good grief, you've gotta be pretty myopic to interpret this sacred, beautiful, solemn sound as "scary." It's stunning and awe-inspiring. And I'm Catholic, I don't even have any idea what is being said, but beauty is beauty.
Do you believe that the Creator of the entire Universe, the trillions upon trillions of galaxies in space, the untold planets with life, the billions of humans just on this planet, of every constituent part of every atom in this universe and all other universes, really cares what language people use to pray?
The Catholic church's fault. They sacked the city in 1200, then refused Constantine's plea for help when Mehmed II attacked. They almost held an army of 40 000 with only 7000 men. If they had had support from the Vatican or the Genovese in Galata the city would not have been sacked. If had lasted until the early modern period, with the advances in technology in Europe, it would have been very difficult for the Ottoman's to have taken it. Fair play to the Muslims though - they wanted it more.
@@healingceremonies There is no creator - it's just a power game - Muslims versus Christians. Do you seriously think that God spoke to Allah, a 7th century illiterate merchant who went on to conquer the entire Arab peninsula - in the name of God lol.
