All cameramen are a good bit insane, somewhere I have saved a picture of a photographer looking through his view finder while the feet of the tripod and the bottom of his shoes were on fire. Why you ask? BECAUSE HE WAS STANDING ON BARELY COOLED LAVA!!!!!
Low gravity worlds can do crazy things! Creatures evolved on them can be giants without the density we have since they don't have to fight against gravity nearly as much.
I like these stories, but they make humanity look like this insano boingo species that is willing to run 80 miles to save a wounded ally or scare a prime species just because they have front-facing eyes.
