Welcome back Matt! So excited about your new series, thank you! Congratulations on your marriage and your new baby, best wishes to you and your family!
Matt, first a foremost congrats on your wedding and new baby!! Secondly welcome back to youtube with the Canary Room, looking good and great looking birds for the season ahead which of course I wish you the best of look with. I myself am an amateur breeder and am getting ready for my own season (well as soon as I can secure three more hens as three of the birds I kept back from myself thinking they where hens turned out to be cocks) lol
Congratulations on your new family! So happy for you! Your new bird room also looks lovely. Wish we could get Haith’s Kraker Tonic in the US. Or at least something similar.
Thanks for the fantastic shows you provide us with. I have three questions:1.what is the ideal temperature for breeding?2.what is the ideal photoperiod for breeding?3.There is a myth here where I live: providing canaries with a fixed seed mix in their cage, makes them obese, is this true?
Glad you enjoy it. Temp should be no lower than around 14-15c. Daylight will be around 12-13 hours, they will breed at 11 hours but you need to ensure there’s enough light for the young to get an early evening feed. As for feed during the season I supplement my standard canary mix with soaked seed and egg food mix - there’s videos on how to prepare both on the site! Thanks for the message
Hello matt. great to see the show back really great viewing. Just a quick question regarding the blue variegated white cock & his two hens. The white cock looks on camera to be a yellow feathered bird & i see you have over wintered this bird with what looks like two yellow variegated hens. Is this your aim to pair yellows together. Double yellow pairing. Surely if the white cock is yellow you would pair him to two nice feathered buffs..?? great to see you back..
Thank you, enjoying and learning from your channel. Got 1 question . My female is changing the feathers and i think in a week or max 2 weeks the process will be completed. After that i will try to breed her, so the question is how many days of the week should i give her eggs? For the moment i'm giving both my male and female a quarter of egg daily or an eighth each.Would really appreciate an answer. Wishing all the best.
Hi I don't feed straight egg, I feed an egg food mix. I start off gradually, once a week in finger drawers, then over the course of. couple of months build up to twice, three and then four times a week. If she moulted it's likely that it will be months before she's ready to breed again. best of luck!
Hey there, I was wondering how to watch back the old episodes? The site seemed to have a lot of faults for me, a lot of videos I didn’t have “permission” to watch even though I had paid for a subscription. But I’d love to watch the full versions of these older episodes...
Hi there, sorry for the issues, combination of technology problems with the video hosting. There's about 250 hours of content (I was surprised when i saw over 30 episodes in season , don't know why i wrote them all!) and i've finally managed to get all of the MP4 files of it. I'll have a look and see what i can do in-between working and filming the new series, my ambition would be to get all the back episodes on here one day....
@@TheCanaryRoom Thank you for answering! I hope you can figure things out, and good luck with future episodes! Love your work! Say hi to the birdies for me!
Great video! What material do you use on your cage floors? I've just moved my birds back to their cages and have been using newspaper but the young ones keep ripping it up haha
