This video is more of a read along, as I share with you the origins of the powerpunk girls and the Powerpuff episode that sadly never came to be. Discord: / discord
I remember first seeing the powerpunk girls in one of those poorly made MS paint stories young fans would post on RU-vid and I thought they were edgy OCs for the longest time until i actually decided to look it up, the fans even made an alternate version of the rowdyruff boys.....the rowdyright boys! yeah but they aren't as popular (as far as I know)
I found this comic at a charity shop a few years back and still have it as I feel the comic is pretty much A what could've been had it been an Episode theory
I was one of the few people who had heard of the Power Punk Girls. Granted I was… roughly 11 years ago and I thought the same way until I saw that comic
@@Childishju actually those punks made of salt, vinegar and everything sinister (well they say everything nasty in the ingredients, but to keep the rhyme most fans choose to say everything sinister instead). I think the fan-made Rowdyrights are made of the following flour, pepper and kitty cat wails to mirror the rhyme of snips, snails and puppydog tails and match sugar, spice and everything nice.
@@timepilotcluefinder94OMG I love the intake on that! I never liked everything nasty because it didn’t rhyme at all. My version is Salt, vinegar and everything bitter.
Honestly I was surprised the girls didn't give him the information on how they were made, heck even talking about his alternative being a villain, stating the Rowdyruff boys and how Mojo made them. Then that gives him the base idea and knowledge to make them if the Punks come back. Which he could do RIGHT before the Punks return. Ironically enough they blast in and cause the Chemical X to spill into the solution, completing them. xD
Princess Morebucks would've been a particularly good villain to translate into a PowerPunk counterpart. Just in general the idea of a city full of heroes with one team of villains that beat them is a pretty near idea.
If the punks we're in the episodes back in the 2000s, I know there would been an episode of the punks and ruffs meeting and falling in love or the ruffs seeing the punks as a threat to their goal and as they are the only ones can fight and destroy the powerpuff girls
I remember reading *years* ago that the episode they were initially going be in was going to be like that…but hindsight makes the reliability of that article feel dubious now😭 but since it waaas the 2000s it’s still in the realm of possibility
@@ChildishjuMaybe a Princess Morbucks that isn't a screaming lunatic that decided to wage a pointless crusade against the girls, instead the mirror universe can have her be a good Samaritan and help Jomo try to save the Powerpunks from themselves.
Wish this comic ended with them telling Jomo how they were made, as a way to help him later on. Basically allowing him to make his version of the Rowdyruff Boys, whom would be good instead.
Don't know why, but when I found out about this comic as kid it was hard for me tell if this was cannon and official or a fanmade. I always saw isolated panels but never a full page or the whole thing. Really wanted to read it but couldn't find it anywhere. It would have been so cool if they were used in an episode... I wonder, why didn't they? I forget when Craig McCracken left the show, but there was definitely seasonal fatigue at some point, so it's not like there wasn't an opportunity... Right?
Yeah I agree completely and I guess it’s just not a episode they saw as a priority, especially with the fact that the rowdy ruff boys already exist and are kinda similar
I really hope the punks get added in the second reboot because they have potential to be amazing villains to the girls. The rowdyruff boys may be their archrivals but the punks will be their arch enemies
I don’t think they would. The power punk girls are reflections of what the power-puff girls could be. They pretty much would be another opposite to the Rowdy Ruff Boys. Those brothers might despise how their opposites could rock what they embody personality wise😂 (Take this goofy theory with a grain of salt, as I’ve never even heard or seen a single dialogue from the punks upon watching this video😂😂)
I used to teach my friends in 3rd grade about the PowerPunk girls and i would use the computer to show them during recess 😭 no one knew who they were but I remember they were my favorite characters from RU-vid amvs
seeing the powerpunk girls actually being canon after all these years wasn’t on my bingo card but it’s nice to see an alternate reality where the professor wanted to destroy the city and maybe the punk girls were gonna help in his goals
@@Childishjui blame gender stereotypes and gender bias. Many parents knew that their daughters who were little girls. They were watching the Powerfuff Girls back in 98 and the early 2000s. Mainly the late 90s and early 2000s..
Omg this brought back so many memories! I remember finding out about them through video edits, speedpaints, fake chatroom videos and a fan animated short series by thisCCchick! I looked more into them and became obsessed for a few years, I would go back and watch speedpaints every once in a blue moon for nostalgia
Yeah so many people are nostalgic about them surprisingly, I think that’s really cool. And I didn’t know there was a fan short series, I’m definitely gonna have to check that out!
When Craig McCracken's Powerpuff Girls Reboot is released, I hope we get a TMNT Forever type movie/special where the Powerpuff Girls meet Powerpuff Girls Z. It would be very interesting to see these two versions interact with one another. Maybe even with the Powerpunk Girls as the main villains of the story.
Same here. And the best part is that it's possible and has already been set up. In episode 51 of PPGZ, the girls are traveling through time and something causes them to end up in the main PPG universe for a short time and they see a battle going between the og PPG and a yellow Giant Fish Balloon. The clip is on RU-vid titled "Powerpuff Girls Z and original Powerpuff Girls Crossover"
@@Childishju But I love The Powerpuff Girls movie. Why did it fail? Did the test audience and critics hate it? Or did it not do well at the box office?
@@jonkeiser6092 it failed at the box office, unfortunately it was just a different time. The Powerpuff girls were seen as just for girls by parents, so the movie didn’t make enough money. Critics liked it, and most fans like it now but back when it released parents wouldn’t let boys go watch it sadly.
@jonkeiser6092 It only made $15 million at the box office for a couple reasons. It was competing against Men in Black II and Lilo & Stitch during the summer of 2002. 2002 is also the same year big movies came out like Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, Star War Episode II The Attack of the Clones, and Lord of the Rings The Two Towers. Craig McCracken also spoke out concerning the box office numbers stating that most boys that are fans of The Powerpuff Girls did not want to admit it in public, so they wouldn't see the movie in theaters and rather watch it at home.
Well I mean the OG creator is supposedly returning to make new seasons of the ORIGINAL series. Sadly the Professor and HIM will be getting recast due to the voice actor retiring due to having a stoke. Just hope they don't nerf Bellum or Miss Keane. As well as keep HIM's voice effect, and Mojo's speech patterns cause those were all staples. Heck I would be fine with an episode where the Mayor isn't allowed to run again and the villains all run to replace him, beating up those who try to run against them. Course the girls would try to find someone who would run without fear, ending up being Miss Bellum. *The old mayor would end up being HER assistant instead, as a sorta role swap of sorts* Then maybe in these new seasons this Powerpunk arc would happen and be more fleshed out.
I totally forgot about these characters but seeing that picture of them looking at their alternative selves in a mirror oddly brought back memories even though i don't know if i ever read a ppg comic. I mean i was a huge ppg fan when i was growing up (had VHS tapes, big pillow characters, magnets, a throw and pillow set, etc.) but i don't recall owning any of the comics.
Same, im a big fan and I’ve never even seen a Powerpuff girls comic. I only just learned that they were a thing about a month ago, but some of the comic ideas are really cool!
I remember people were obsessed with the Powerpunk Girls back in the day. Those old PPG AMVs and MSPaint/Windows Movie Maker stories had little me in a chokehold
Talk about the PPgz anime please it would be nice Fun fact Craig who is working on the current reboot he involved in stated nothing is out of the question so who knows 👀👀
I will talk about them again, but I have made a full video on the first few episodes so definitely check my channel for that. And yeah it would be great to see Craig bring some of these characters back
I love Powerpunk Girls (and Rowdyruff Boys too!) I can't help but really enjoy their designs- and imagining beings with PPG's power but EVIL is so fun. Wish we got to see more of them
The Powerpunk girls is a cool concept for me because I remember seeing all the MS paint stories about the PPG and the RRB battling the punks! I’ve always wondered what it would be like in the official show, even though it didn’t happen. Also I’m planning to do a comic dub of the powerpunks because I haven’t seen anyone dubbing the PPNKG, not even in my childhood, thanks for sharing this video and I’m planning to read this comic someday!
i am also super interested in learning more about the powerpunk girls. like, i wish this comic was longer. it’s kind of a short comic (ive read it online. i don’t own this copy). i wish it explained a lot more of the background behind the characters and their universe and everything like that. i’m interested in learning about what their lives and relationships in vilesville (that’s what it’s called, right?) are like. if this became an episode, it would probably be a full 22 minute episode (as opposed to an 11 minute segment). or maybe it would have even been a 44 minute special or something like that
For the longest of time i thought the anti versiosn were fan made now my question is finally finally answered after almost a decade! Thank you so much man you solved a missing piece of my childhood!
I'm glad to see this video, because I always wondered where the powerpunk girls came from in the fandom. I do hope that the powerpunk girls will someday get their first episode someday to explore their universe
Whoooooo man! Ever since I got into the fandom and learned about these girls and realized they were canon (in the comics) I love these girls just as much as the real PPGs
I hope the new series uses some of the source material from the comics, there's so much they could adapt that I think would translate perfectly into animation 🤩
Glad to hear I'm not the only one who knows the deep facts which happens to be the 50th comic issue was meant to be an episode that was unfortunately canceled due to budget cuts!
Huh, i didn't know they were real... I had seen them a long, long time ago when i was younger. I now wish they had shown up in the series so we would have an all-out war between the Power Puff Girls Power Punk Girls and Rowdy Ruff Boys.
This whole time like many other people I thought they were some edgy OC’s made by a fan, but honestly I have no complaints XD My mind would have been freakin’ blown if I saw this as an episode as a kid!!!
I thought they were a fanmade multiverse that got so popular they're turned into a comic, not that it was a actual comic that got popular, that's so cool
Well, here's a potential episode idea for the new revival season/ series. Heck, just adapt this comic to make thing easier. Funny/ Meta idea: have the actresses who voiced the 2016 version of the girls voiced these girls.
If you told me at 7 there were a cancelled episode of powerpunk girls when I was deep in my baby artist ppg Fan Phase, I would’ve fallen to my knees in TEARS
The power punk girls would've absolutely destroyed the cartoon competition in 2009. They would've been the queens of Hot Topic and the scene/alt/emo scene as a whole. Cartoon Network missed out big time
I remember seeing that comi a long time ago on youtube it's crazy how this came back to me after all these years. 😂😂😂😂 This was bck in my cringe days where i had a crush on Brick, sung "be my bad boy" and listened to "listen to you heart" like they were my soul songs. 😅😂 My pre-teen and early teen days were ao cringe.
Oh my gosh no way you had a crush on brick lmaooooo, that’s adorably sweet but equally embarrassing lol I love that. Embrace the cringe, it’s the cringe that makes us special lol. This is definitely one of my favorite comments
Last time I checked each episode I see the girls do have a strong connection and loving bond with the professor like a father and 3 daughters should. what are you talking about?
Literally same, I’ve been looking all over and can’t even find it on eBay. Our best bet is probably a comic convention, but I’m with you meimei, we’ll get our hands on it one day. If I see it pop up on eBay or something I’ll link it
I mean, I could see why they didn't make it to an actual episode cause, like we already have the whole evil version of the girls with the rowdyruff boys it would definitely be kind of strange to have essentially two groups of evil powerpuff girls running around
Now I could be wrong but if I'm not mistaken I've heard that these characters never appeared in the show due to the movie being made (again I could be wrong) but if this is the case then this makes me upset. It's bad enough I didn't care for the movie (perhaps its a good movie if you're trying to get into the franchise) but knowing that we could have had something better instead really grinds my gears.
I saw the Power Punk Girls on google way back in 2005 and I couldnt find much about it at the time other than it was a comic. I did often wonder if it was a episode I hadnt seen... ALSO there was a comic where the normal PPG adopted a sister called 'Bluebell' who dies of an illness at the end of the comic. I've never been able to find that since 05' and there was a lost pilot of the PPG shown only on Boomerang in around 2000. It was like a PPG rip off but I've never been able to find that either!!!!
