i wonder what it would be like to go outside one morning, look around and see a grown man in a toy vehicle with a Godzilla mask driving around. Sounds amazing to me
Another example how underrated Godzilla: The Series is. These toys woulda really slapped onto many kids' childhoods. Mine included times TEN! Heck, all that merch shows what the series was gonna have, if it continued in more seasons! More vehicles, character abilities, monsters! Oh my!
@@shytoons Walmart is truly an evil corporation. I bet Sam Walton is spinning in his grave seeing his wife and kids acting like bad corporate stereotypes from a comic book.
@@guilhermepereira558 No. Trendmasters CLOSED in Nov. 2002. The toys and the molds are all long gone now. These will NEVER be released unfortunately. Just the way things happened. Sad but true.
When I saw the garage door open, I knew I was in for the dumbest thing I've seen all day and I was not dissapointed. I laughed so hard at that car reveal. Sometimes it's the dumb stuff that makes you laugh the hardest.
@@MonsterIslandBuddies hey Monster Island Buddies i got some questions 1. where did you get those animated pixel pictures on your wall and where can i get them? 2. have you ever played cookie run, cookie run kingdom and cookie run blast? 3.have you ever played friday night funkin and what would your reaction be if someone made a mod of you in fnf with your very own songs?
A Matt McMuscle crossover with James Rolfe *AND* a new MIB video featuring Matt McMuscle in the same day?? Truly we’re living in the greatest of timelines
Fantastic video MIB and great cameo from Matt as well!!!! I would absolutely love to have these toys as i grew up with the series and seeing the characters in toy form would blow my childhood mind!!!! It's a shame about the toyline never made it past the prototype stage after what happened with walmart, but thanks for showing us the prototypes and what could have been if things went differently!!!
I just watched the entire godzilla the series cartoon and that moment when jr had to chose between his real father or his adopted father made me cry it was beautiful and awsome the fighting scene was amazing and hart shattering i loved it and if godzilla the series got another season and they add more story if godzilla the series got a remake or another season i would still love it i just hope they make it as good or better then the original i would still be happy 10/10 show never going to be surpass never ever ever i love this show.
I actually rewatched though the Godzilla cartoon fairly recently and was really surprised how well it held up. Was reminded of it by a convo with a friend about more adult movies that got turned into cartoons. So decided to watch an episode and ended up binge watching the entire run.
I honestly love how you set up the garage joke, I saw it coming and yet I still laughed also that end part where the guy gives credit to hank was just heart warming especially during these times.
Fantastic episode, MIB! A crying shame this and the Kong toyline never saw the light of day. All these toys looked great, would've made for awesome toy room floor battles. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm off to buy a 1998 Godzilla off eBay to customize into my own Cyber Goji! Oh, and love the MIB Mobile. :)
Man I would've killed for those figures. I've learned so much from this. Had no idea about the robo yeti and C-rex toys. I've seen the Cyber zilla and Zilla ones before. Big respect to Trendmasters for trying to push to get these toys out there. Russel really is the goat. Props to him and his team for what they did.
I love Cyber-Godzilla, part of me wants another Kiryu movie where the Godzilla skeleton starts to grow back its flesh and becomes a Toho equivalent to Cyber-Godzilla. Also a big thank you to Hank Saperstein for helping in the creation of my introduction to Godzilla (the Trendmasters Godzilla Toys).
I love how Matt is depicted knowing all the answers of entertainment industry flops on the top of his head without even looking into it. (Also I would have loved to see his video on the Godzilla Christmas rap)
I remember seeing pictures of these on the internet as a kid and then becoming sad when I later found out they basically don't exist. Anyway, I normally don't comment but just wanted to tell you great video as always man!
And yet, nearly 30 years later, the Godzilla 1998 figures from Trendmasters are worth their weight in gold. I'm betting the guys in charge are still beating themselves up to a pulp over letting that golden goose fly away....
I was waiting for this play time episode because the story of the cancellation of Godzilla the series is a fascinating story. I wish these figures were sold in stores because it will make so much money but Walmart committed the biggest sin by saying no to money. The only prototype figure from Godzilla the series was Cyber Godzilla on sell for like $320 or so on etsy. I thought about buying it, but someone beat me to it.
Great video and research man! I had a lot of the regular trendmasters Godzilla figures when I was a kid and would've definitely picked up some of these! Dann you Wallyworld lol!
It is awesome to see you guys together ! I love both of your channels ! And well, it's bittersweet to see those figures , I would love them a the time and I would love them today ! Godzilla the series is awesome ! Great video !
How dare you badmouth Mystic Knights of Tir na Nog!? But seriously Mystic Knights were more popular in parts of Europe (for obvious reasons) so that might have influenced it getting a toy line while underperforming in America. Plus it was a Saban propert so toys were more or less half the point. (Also Quetzalcoatl is pronounced kinda like Ketsal-ko-at, if that helps.)
I remember watching a video that came out like 14 years ago and some one was chowing there collection of Godzilla the seareas and doom island prototypes and there was a lot of them!!!
Best team up ever. Saw the note from Matt, about this fun crossover video. I had to check it out. I remember watching this film on VHS. Plus the animated film was pretty cool. Bummer how things turned out for distribution, for those who love collecting toys or action figures.
The only real problem I had with Cyber-Godzilla’s arc was that the series never delved into the true tragic aspect of it all. When Godzilla ripped Cyber-Zilla to shreds, it just gets passed off like it was a good thing.
YES IM HERE WHEN THIS VID CAME OUT ONE HOUR AGO I love ur playtime videos Also if wikizilla does a new Titanosaurus kaiju profile if it comes into the monsterverse I rly want mib’s titanosaurus to guess star
Man, what a blast from the past. I loved this series when it was on. I was never that big into collecting action figures, but if I knew these were out there in the wild, I’d be all over that now.
4:27 - "Abused Property of Hollywood" sums up the Godzilla franchise a nutshell, sadly. Seriously, Godzilla is not represented well in America (via Hollywood or America in general) like he is in Japan. In America, Godzilla is still looked down on as a very niche franchise, despite the fact that said franchise has influenced countless big-name directors and other big-name American franchises for over 60 years. :/
Remember there’s always an alternate universe where Spider-man 4 came out Godzilla the series figures got released And “God”zilla 1998 was very well accepted
