The Cancer Doctor Who Did the Unthinkable | The Horrific Crimes of Farid Fata 

Hi there! Just a correction - I accidentally pronounced Farid Fata’s last name incorrectly in this video. Also, my apologies for the video quality of my talking footage looking rough. This was my third time re-filming this as I was having some major technical difficulties with the camera I was using. Anyway, it is currently Blood Cancer Awareness month and as a blood cancer patient myself, I’m glad to shed light on one of the most twisted cases of the blood cancer doctor who harmed and poisoned several patients. Hope you enjoy and let me know your thoughts on this case.🤎

One diligent nurse noticed malpractice after ONE day on the job and swiftly reported him to the authorities. Unless all of his other nurses were new graduates, I don't understand why they would let him get away with this. This really makes me trust medical professionals even less, knowing how much they will keep quiet as patients are being actively harmed. The doctor who investigated him wasn't even going to report him, he was just going to quit and leave!

My partners father was a victim of this man his family got a settlement out of it, but no amount of money can fix the suffering he caused. He passed away in 2009...

My friend was a victim/patient of this monster. He gave her more than twice the dose of chemotherapy she needed. He called her his miracle patient- probably because she survived. She had to retrieve her medical records from the FBI when the case was over. I thank God this horrible man didn’t kill my friend and she is here enjoying young grandchildren even while grieving her fellow cancer fighters that were his victims. ❤

Boy, the judge who was going to set the bail so low must have been sleeping through the charges.

This Dr. Maunglay is such a hero, honestly. Good for him for having the courage to tell the patient the truth, even going against his own boss - so many people wouldn't do that, they'd either be too afraid, or they'd be willing to go along with it to make money, etc. I really respect this doctor for actually taking his job as a physician seriously.

What Dr. Fareed did was downright evil. My grandma died after being treated for lung cancer that had metastasisized and spread to her brain. She was 85 and had already survived breast cancer 10 years before and open heart surgery only 2 years before. Her own parents died horrible deaths post chemo but her oncology advised she and my uncle and mother who were present that "today's [2016] chemo & radiation is much more advanced than the treatment back then so she will tolerate this treatment well." So instead of palliative care she was put on an aggressive treatment protocol. Before this she was mostly wheelchair bound due to Venus insufficientcy but was happy and still herself. She could read, go out with family, the month before being diagnosed she flew from Arizona to New York to see her cousin who she grew up with who was like a sister to her. Her cousin suffered from dementia but my grandma loved her so and kept in touch by phone until she couldn't communicate like that anymore and my grandma planned and took the last trip to see her. Her cousin couldn't understand much but my grandma sat with her and held her hand quietly, speaking occasionally in a soft tone. She didn't end it with goodbye, she said see you later. Then after that she went to Disneyland with several of her grandkids. Then the treatment started. She wanted to see the beach one more time but after the treatment began she deteriorated rapidly. She lost so much weight and could barely eat and went from plump to frail and looking like a skeleton in a matter of months. She always loved Starwars and the franchise had just been rebooted and I wanted to take her but work ruined my plans one night and after that it was too late because every night after that she was too sick. (To this day I regret putting work first. It was only one day but I feel like I lost so much). At this point her body was failing rapidly but then they started radiation and it was like they turned that up to 11 and stole her mind and joy as well. After radiation started she didn't tolerate it for long before they put her on hospice where she was delirious and in pain. Crying for her mother. I'd come to read to her and could tell that she wasn't really able to absorb what I was saying but I think she liked hearing my voice there anyway. Finally she died but not before being robbed of her dignity and joy and multiple final bucket list items (to see the beach, visit her cousin again, go see Starwars) all of which were attainable if she hadn't been put on a treatment that was inappropriate to start with. I don't know why they did that to her instead of putting her on palliative care except for to gain thousands from medicaid from the treatment that made her final months torture. It didn't have to be like that. She could have been put on a hospice plan and continued enjoying her life and family in her last year but that oncologist's greed stole that from her and our family.

This is so horrible. I had a round of IVIG. Each infusion cost me over $7000 and my body went into shock. I can’t imagine going through that unnecessarily.

I worked for one of the best cancer centers in my state. What bothered me so much was our oncologists knowingly could have saved more lives if they referred some of the patients to Duke. They knew there were treatments available in Duke, that we didnt offer, which could have saved lives of many of the patients who died! But like the doctors said, "everytime a patient steps thru that door, thats an automatic $12,000 bill." I find it sickening how lives mean nothing to doctors who have no ties or attachment to the patient

Im on a breast cancer journey. Treatments like radiation, chemo etc are brutal. Having your body poisoned unneccesarily is inhumane. What an evil evil man. BTW I hope you are doing well. Im so glad to have discovered your channel 😃

Fellow blood cancer patient here & i agree with you - just trying to get through the regular chemotherapy protocols is hard enough! It's sometimes absolute hell itself & can really make a person feel like they are dying (and the depression caused by it is dark!); So what this creature did to all of it's unsuspecting victims, is beyond comprehensible. Evil doesn't even begin to describe the repercussions that every single one of them has had to endure. Anyhow, rant over - You did a lovely job and i must say that I've never heard of this case before, so kudos to you for bringing it! 👏

My aunt was told she had colon cancer and had a few months left to live, she changed doctor and turns out she just had constipation, it’s scary how these things happen.

As a nurse I was so proud that it was a nurse who had originally caught on to the scam… we are taught to think critically and to question orders/ interventions as appropriate as our patients well being is at stake… this is a painful lesson of if you see something unsafe say something ! No matter your role In health care - Whether a RN, MD, CNA, US…. Speak up ! It can be hard - especially with attendings and the surgical specialty particularly as they tend to be so dismissive and flippant and overall confident not to mention. Their experience it can be very intimidating … but lives are on the line .. I always tell my new grad RNs never hesitate to question orders and seek confirmation from more experienced nurses …. Never let doctors intimidate you into silence ! Half the time they’re putting in orders wrong or trying to follow the wrong protocols and it’s up to us to catch and correct it ! We are the last line and we have to hold strong !

I can't think of where I saw it, but someone said that three things should never be run for profit: education, incarceration, and healthcare. Good luck with your own treatment. I hope you kick cancer's butt.

My stepmom was misdiagnosed by him shortly before everything came out. I honestly think you'd be hard-pressed to find anyone in Southeastern Michigan who doesn't know someone conned by him.

my grandmother was one of his victims. she was undergoing treatment and at one point was doing so well and wanted to stop, but she was then switched to his facility and he insisted keeping her on the treatment, and even upping the dosage. obviously it made her decline to the point where her body could no longer handle it. my dad lost his last living parent which really took a toll on him that is still apparent today. i miss her, her shelves full of trinkets, sharing stories back and forth over dinner, her dogs that she loved so dearly. i wish i got to know her better, as i was still pretty young when she passed. my dad’s side of the family has now become skeptical of doctors and modern medicine because of this, and while i’m concerned for them, i completely understand why. may you suffer forever farid fata.

Dr. Fareed wasn’t in on this alone. Primary care doctors that referred patients to him need to be investigated as well.

His story reminds me of what my aunt passed while treating a throat cancer. She had to go through radiation and the doctors said the number of sessions was a protocol, no matter the cancer stage nor the patients condition, in that clinic all went through 30 sessions. It was too much. She's alive and cancer free nowadays, but she presents such an extreme degree of bone/teeth decay that always gets doctors/dentists impressed. Since she was no patient of Dr. Farid (we're brazilian) it makes me think that this specific kind of malpractice, the overpoisoning of cancer patients, may be more common than we think.

What a monster!! My husband is a cancer survivor and he went through many months of hell with his chemotherapy treatments. So severe that he still has CPTSD to this day. To think that a doctor would deliberately poison and traumatize his patients - especially the ones that didn't actually have cancer - is wicked and vile. Also have to mention that I love your channel! Can't wait to see what other stories you have to tell in the future.

The evil ex-doctor got 45 years in jail. For patients, be sure to carefully review all of your biopsy results. If it doesnt make sense, get a second opinion from an oncologost at a different hospital. Sad that he harmed so many, just for money. And sad that the first time he was reported, nothing happened.

We do our children wrong to tell them there are no such things as monsters, yet most of us do it in innocence...either we think it's best not to scare a child or we honestly believe it ourselves ...but it's still a dangerous, dangerous lie. Maybe we should teach children young that monsters, most of the time, look just like the rest of us. Then maybe, just maybe, when kids grow up to be adults, they will look a little (or a lot) closer into the history of their medical practitioners, therapists, service people, landlords, educators, etc...anyone they need to be able to trust. There is nothing wrong with trust coming on the heels of verification, is there?

My grandma died in 2004 from lung and bone cancer and underwent aggressive chemo. We're from the metro Detroit area and just finding this out makes me feel... wrong...

As a nurse this really makes my stomach turn, knowing what side effects these medications will cause. It saddens me how so many nurses didn't speak up or really did not understand how these treatments were unneccesary, but I can kind of see how it could happen. The thing is that treatment protocols really do vary from one institution to another a lot and it is nothing out of the ordinary. Then it's also very difficult to go against a person of authority who knows they are doing wrong, since they would be able to document the treatments in a way that would make them seem valid even to other professionals. Still, it should speak to you as a human when a patient is suffering so badly, it should make you question if this is the right treatment for them.

From my own personal experience watching my big brother go through treatment for testicular cancer.. was awful, 10 years later I still have my own trauma from seeing the effects of these hugely destructive medications.. I can't understand how the victims of this horrible crime coped. No person going through those health scares do NOT deserve to have their medications adulterated. There was also another ‘doctor’ in Texas who committed the most heinous crimes against his patients. He and his wife were from Iran. They came to America later in life and he opened a huge cancer clinic with a hematology clinic, where he would work up his own patients instead of having to send them across town for bloodwork at the hospital. One day, a lady who had recently been diagnosed with stage 4 cancer, was returning from a trip and fell over her luggage, breaking her leg. She was taken to a hospital close to her home. She was seen by a doctor who just so happened to work at the same cancer clinic of the Iranian doctor and he was comparing her chart from their cancer laboratory to the hospital lab results. She didn’t have cancer. The doctor was fixing lab work to show positive cancer. The doctor was shocked and he knew immediately his colleague was committing medical fraud. There were many people hurt by this cancer doctor. He and his wife fled back to Iran.

Dr.Maunglay is definitely a hero here..as a cancer survivor myself I was diagnosed with reproductive cancer in 2020 and got proper treatment and I'm cancer free.. I'm also a neuro surgery recipient for a severe spine illness , and I just got done with your story about that crooked neurosurgeon in Colorado and Dr.M's case really nauseated me..and it's nuts hearing stories like these and having things in common with the victims..i thank God my oncologist and neurosurgeon were great and stand up fellows..but this is sick and disgusting..and not being funny but this loser ( Medical . Dunce ,md.Fata) makes Dr.Nick Rivera from the Simpsons seem like Dr.Albert Schweitzer...the audacity of these shady medical practitioners..and I just discovered your channel and I must say your research and thouroughness & Video is well done..and the " European protocol" thats B.S...cause the protocol for cancer treatment in Europe is the same in America and the world if the hospital is properly facilitated. In Germany there was a case recently of a pharmacist who diluted the chemo he sold. All to enhance his profits. It's uncertain how many people died as a direct result of them getting chemo with little to no active ingredients. Edit: oops, not recent, in 2016. He got 12 years but tried to appeal the verdict.

Nurses are frequently ignored. Historically women in a male-dominated field would simply be shutdown. But I'm telling you it's often nurses who know something isn't right and will warn you. Like the nurse who tried to raise the alarm on the doctor who ignored child abuse to prove a medical theory when the reality was, their mother was killing them. The nurses knew and they knrw thr current baby was going to be dead shortly on returning home and sure enough. You can see that nurse's anger when she's interviewed about that famous case.

My mother is an RN and did Oncology Hospice the majority of her Career. So Oncology has a close place in my heart. I know the pain cancer can cause on the patient and families. The fact this man got away with such egregious things under the disguise as a white coat is a disgrace

Both my parents were killed by med staff, died 10 days apart. Dad was being transported needs oxygen 24/7. Transporters EMS said he didn't need for shor6run, he was fighting to breath, I began to panic, they kept telling me it was only anxiety. He suffocated in front of me. His dr is furious. Mom was hospi7for perforated colon, the torture they put her through is too much to list. Then she was neglected because she wasn't jumping through the nurses hoops fast enough, he refused to treat her, ignoring drs orders. They also ignored her advance directive. They refused us contact with her and they never informed us she died. No one will help us to have licenses of those involved revoked. It's almost 2 yrs and we're told we have to hurry or the courts will be locked forever. If I knew what to do I go to court without a lawyer!

Great that you put forward this information. There seems to be a flaw in the system that allows one doctor to be involved in all the different levels of diagnosis , treatment, care, and then even hospice. There is so much conflict of interest when a psychopathic crook is given free rein to wreak such havoc. The medical establishment should be investigated. They too are out of control.

Having worked with far too many healthcare insurance agents and doctors, I can tell you that unless he was falsifying their charts, they could have caught him trivialy and didn't.

I am a pathologist and i never seen Multiple myeloma in someone as young as 32. I am suprised no one questioned the diagnosis.

As a retired RN, I know first hand about the seemingly godlike hold doctors have on their patients. It takes a lot of effort to be heard when raising the call against these people. This reminds me of the pharmacist Courtney out of Kansas City that did the exact opposite and under treated cancer patients by deliberately mixing very low percentages of ordered chemotherapy amounts, so that he could "stretch" the drug he had purchased and pocketed the difference. I like your delivery style and the great research you did on reporting this complex case. Keep up the good work!.

Also, I am absolutely sure his CFO wife knew about everything! She had to because she saw every dollar pour in and knew where the money was coming from. I am sure he chose his complicit wife simply to avoid the questions that would be asked by a legitimate accountant/CFO. I am very interested in this case because I have a large tumor in my bladder but I don't know at this time if I have cancer. I don't know if you pray, but if you do, please pray for me, thank you!

This is heartbreaking. Those poor people that suffered because of his greed. It’s disgusting. It’s crazy to have to second guess a diagnosis you receive from a Dr. because you should be able to trust them…they take an oath, right? So scary. Thank you for covering these malpractice cases.

I had to get a few infusions for a non cancer condition. Even the lady at the front desk was willing to mention her concerns when she noticed the procedure was scheduled to take longer then normal. The reason was all the checks and balences the facility does before a needle gets anywhere near the patient. So if a desk clerk is willing to question the doctor theres no excuse for other doctors and nurses to raise concerns.

I need to pause this issue for a minute. Was the doctor the only one investigated/penalized? Initially I could write off anyone else’s involvement until two things were mentioned: no supporting tests/documentation that would warrant these tests/treatments. As well as the mentioning of the various insurance companies that were scammed. I used to be a certified medical coder. Ironically, my mom owned her own medical billing company. Though we never worked together . I can all but guarantee he had assistance from others who had to be aware of his scam. For every single claim filed to insurance must include the appropriate medical code in order for insurance to reimburse. Even back then! Insurance has obnoxious hoops you must jump through before they’ll even consider paying these types of prices. If there’s no documentation in the medical record to support the doctors actions, then there sure as shit isn’t enough to get an insurance company to pay for it! Someone had to code that stuff. If the documentation isn’t there, how the hell did it get filed/billed?!

As someone who has gone through chemotherapy, I knew something was wrong as soon as I heard he "believed in subjecting patients to higher doses of chemotherapy". Like, if he's a doctor he should know that cytostatic drugs themselves increase the risk of future cancers, right?! That's literally one of the reasons why cancer patients are still monitored even after they've beaten it!!

He should be given chemotherapy so he feels like his patients who never had cancer.
