My sister has bi-lateral breast cancer. Stage 2. I had early stage ovarian cancer. I almost lost my son because he was 5.5 lbs at birth because I had to deliver him 2 months early. I could never have more children because of my radiation and hysterectomy. With my cancer history and having the BRACA1 gene, I will have a double mastectomy in 2 years at 50. As soon as my insurance will cover it. I despise these people with every fiber in my body.
“She’s not gonna die. Pull yourself together.” That is infuriating. That is sick. I’m not even done with the video, and it’s just beyond messed up. The second you mentioned a high fever post surgery, sepsis is the first thing that came to mind, because my dad recently almost died from it. Luckily, he’s made a mostly full recovery months after, but the idea of him being flat out IGNORED, and THAT being the cause of death is enraging and terrifying. Not to mention, Martha was a CHILD. She had YEARS ahead of her, and that was thrown away because some doctors simply could not be bothered to pay enough attention to her. I have a lot of respect for good doctors, I’ve had nineteen surgeries, and without them, my life would look a lot worse right now. But I hope the doctors in this specific story, live with the guilt of this event every night for the remainder of their time. That is sickening in ways that I can’t even begin to express here.
I have always wondered if my great grandmother and her sisters were a victim of the forced sterilization in Virginia in the 1920s My great grandmother and her sisters each only had 1 child which is very rare for women of that time. Most had several children.
Is there any possibility that Diane Schuler from the 2009 Taconic State Parkway Crash could have had ABS? if anyone is familiar with that case I would love your input on this after learning about ABS

I woke up in the hospital after a night of hard drinking. Somebody tried to take my blood pressure and give me a shot of something after i woke up, which I refused. Within an hour or two, a doctor approached me to see if I felt ready to get an x-ray of my chest. I asked for a taxi and left asap. The medical industry wants to suck as much money as it can out of anybody it gets its hands on lol
Worried that martha's rule will affect staffing. SMH. Seems to me they already let any slipshod uncaring medical "professional" to work in the hospital. I hope all medical students in future are taken through Martha's story the way you masterfully did. To break the myth that seniority = competency.
Im aussie and my sister has just started a study for her secondary brain tumour. She had one removed but this one is a grade 3 and on the brain stem and in operable but she did have to have a biopsy done two weeks ago. She's also studying psychology in university. Watching someone struggle like this sucks. My mother passed away from the same cancer and my sister was the one with her when she took her last breaths. My sister had watched our mother change from the person who birthed us to someone entirely different. Not just different but completey bed ridden, having seizures dozens of times a day. I was 12 when I first had to inject my mother with valium during a grand mahl seizure. Cancer just sucks. Anyone who pretends to have it is sick in the head.
I was told by our Oncologists that the dose was based on weight, and if someone was over weight they automatically were given higher doses. They made comments about how my mother was on a very high dose. She said she felt like a bug sprayed with Raid. She lost all ability to care for herself. Is that not how it works? My other patients I helped had similar issues, but never did I hear them talk about how much they were being given. Im curious if they were looking at blood work to determine they didnt need these treatments or also scans? Ive had completely fine tumor markers in tests, no indications on imaging... but was full of tumors.

Hi Petal! As a stage 4 ovarian cancer survivor of a rare form called a yolk sac tumor, this story done PISSED ME OFF!!! Cancer ain't no joke!!! I had a great support system. I will never understand for the life of me why anyone would fake cancer 😡😤🤬

A simple internet search would have revealed her deception, the cancer staging scale ends at 4B. I know this because I was a 4A, and while I didn't lose much hair, I certainly wasn't doing all my usual things. Lastly, not all chemo causes hair loss, but when it does, it doesn't leave stubble on the scalp, and it includes all body hair,including eyebrows and lashes, arms, legs, pubic hair and pits.
I have a cyst like this in my brain. It was discovered 20 years ago after I had a grand mal seizure. I was told that nothing needs to be done unless it starts to grow. I've had MRIs taken regularly and it hasn't changed. I feel really sorry for Michael, he was so young and all of this was so unnecessary. The "doctor" should have been put to jail for the rest of his life.
I don't understand how any nation "settled" by white men could claim that systemic racism ( against indigenous, black, brown or other minority people) does not exist in that nation.
I couldn’t care less about the skin color of the people caring for me if they are clinically competent and caring. If they are an excellent surgeon I don’t even care if they can speak English.
