Try a used a7s (first version) and a TT Artisan 50mm f2. Build your own film sims in picture profiles. Whole kit costs ~500USD, weighs nothing, can shoot in the dark, and since it's manual focus and aperture it has that nice clunky classic photography feel.
hmm thank you, I will look into that option. I never checked the older sony cameras. I tried the a7iV but it was not reliable for the long video shooting sessions. Especially because it can get quite hot in the summer time here in Austria.
@@mipmipmipmipmip-v5x The thing with Sony cameras is that you have to reconceptualize them as a lump of clay. They mold to you. A lot of photographers want to mold to their camera and Sony cameras resist that impulse. You can remap everything. And you can situationally remap everything. Moreover you NEED to remap everything. Out of the box the camera is a sterile, blank slate, that requires whoever owns it to fidget with it until it becomes their camera.
Alternatively, but I didn't try it, the first generation Nikon Z6 is cheap. Apparently the colors can get close to Fuji, but you risk turning into Ken Rockwell and dialing your color saturation up to 11.
Maybe instead first generation S5 go S1. It's basically a poor man's Leica SL1. The sensor colors are beautiful, EVF is fantastic. Handling is great, the S1 is a beast, use fast cards to make sure it's quick. The DFD AF can be frustrating so you keep that Fuji AF experience 😉
Haha 😂 that was a really good one. I had to work a event yesterday. They used a projector for their presentations and curtains to partially block the light from outside. So natural changing light from the left and mostly green light from the projector because of their logo. It was quite the challenge and maybe for this kind of work a Sony would have been a better choice? It was a hard day for me, the X-T4 and the Fuji colors. I am still crying. 😂
DFD AF was also very challenging yesterday. What Sony shall I get? Do you use Sony? I never used a Nikon camera just some of their old Nikkor AI lenses for video.
@buyituseitbreakitfixit maybe the a7s as in other comment. The a7rii seems to make great high resolution stills at a decent price point. Maybe the lumix S5ii is nice, better AF than fuji and nikon and good deals on black friday. There's the 18-40 now which is funky. Or to go closest to Fuji you could aim for Nikon Zf ha there's no way out of this 😀
I think the s5 II might be the logical answer. And what I should really be doing is updating my website and offer easy ready to book products. I suck at the business side of photography.
