Hafs, warsh, and even al Bazzi are reading styles. They are merely recitations. The reading styles, do not impact on the Quran or its meaning. The original text was without the nuqat (dots) and tashkeel , the original word is the same, only the placement of dots for recitation purposes, only , and even with these so-called slight differences, the message remains the same. Tashkeel is used to change the sound or recitation value of the letter but the original word is the same and conveys the same understanding. The original and the root of those words are the same - ق ت ل - (q-t-l) قٰتَلَ Meaning 1 - قَتَلَ (qatala, fought “to kill” or to slay) Meaning 2 -: قَتَّلَ (qattala, “to kill, to massacre, to slaughter”) Meaning 3: قُتِلَ (qutila “to be killed ”) All convey the same understanding within the context used. Quran 3:146 1) Hafs reading - "And many a prophet FOUGHT.." 2.) Al Bazzi reading -"And many a prophet WAS KILLED. 3 ) Warsh reading -“ And how many a prophet [were killed and] To take verses out of context is not academic and worse is quoting a single line or half. So lets look at Quran 3:146 within context and see if the words used are all in the past tense “fought” (fight), “was killed “, “were killed” And how many a prophet (fought /was killed/ were killed and) with him fought many religious scholars. But they never lost assurance due to what afflicted them in the cause of Allah , nor did they weaken or submit. And Allah loves the steadfast. The verse relates to fighting those that fought in a battle. They can be killed or they can survive. The message of the ayah remains clear. The root of the words remains the same. When scholars say the gospels are anonymous, they are speaking in the context of textual criticism. They mean there is no author name in the text. But they're not saying that people don't know anything about the New Testament writers.

The idea of books being thrown out; is putting cart before horse, NO BOOKS CAN BE THROWN OUT until the canon is decided; therefore, no books were thrown out, the canon of Church has been the same; even the reformed canon, includes all canonical books from the 4th century. The reality is, Samuel, is arguing the accurate to reality position; a process of canonisation is historically demonstrable for both religions and is still going on - FOR BOTH RELIGIONS. Christianity however, is not dependent on the Bible in the same way as Muslim faith is dependent on the Quran.

I then showed that the Qur'an is not the canon of Islam, but that rather the Islamic canon is the Quran and Hadith. There was much discussion to formalise the Quran as canon, but there still is no agreement among Muslims as to what is the canon of Hadith. Muslims want to compare the Bible to the Quran but this proves nothing because the Quran is only a small part of the Islamic canon. The Islamic canon is the Quran and Hadith. Muslims need to do the same with the Qur'an because the manuscripts of the Qur'an have variants and then there are the variants of the qira'at. It is a question we both have as I pointed out in the debate.
There is only one version of Quran and the author is God Himself. But there are many different versions of Bible and no one version is same. While there are various versions of Bible and no version is same. The authors of Bible are so many different men and no body exactly knows who wrote them.

Jews also dont consider it scripture Yes the Bible has that story, but let me warn you before you press ahead that varients dont efffect doctrine. the Quran says ‘the prophet is closer to the believer than their own selves and his wives are their mothers’. The Quran of Ibn Masud and others read ‘and he is a father to them’ so why is that not in the Quran? also where is the breast suckling verse or the stoning for adultry verse? Also why does the Quran mention the 7 sleepers story as inspired by God when it is a well known Christian myth.

@@ibnlahad2982 Then im sure you are aware that all these have also been adressed by Christians, so you can see the double standards Its not like you cant read Enoch, because Christians did not go around destroying texts like Uthman and Al hijjaj did Some Muslims say that its abrogated or because its not in the Quran is because its not in the Qirrat, but these did not arrive until centuries later and these are Arabic versions of Uthamns Quran, they are not the Arabic versions of the Sahaba/companions its not from Ibn Masud because those were destroyed. Some translations include it such as Muhammad Assads, but he put its in brackets and notes ‘the prophet has a higher claim on the believers than on their ownselves seeing that he is a father to them and his wives are their mothers’ because he realised its not in the Arabic
