Heavens above, this was one of the best videos Lee and the crew have done...It's very clear that this was a 'from the heart' video, with Pete, Mick and the regular Andertons guys, plus the fantastic video editor chappie (we should all know him, many thanks for all your hard work!) making this a very and informative and heartfelt video to watch,. How grateful Lee is to Dan for his unmatched pedal expertise, and making the correct decisions for Lee's pedal choices. This video reminds me of how grateful Greg Howe was to Dan for fixing his pedal board...I'm whelmed (but not overly, ha ha!) :) On a technical note the editing and pace of the video was as good as the BBC...and I don't say that lightly. Simply great, many thanks to all the hard working chaps behind the scenes. :)

40:28 - Best sound I've ever heard on this channel. I really wish more of the room sound was included more often. You can actually hear the air in the amp, rather than the stifling close mic sound. As a live player, this makes a huge difference.

I agree, maybe if they came up with a blend of a close mic and the room (favoring the room, but still having a bit of that close mic), it would be an excellent demonstration mix. In the Sounds Like vids, I think it makes more sense to have the mix heavy on close mics, just cause that’s closer to what they’re trying to emulate.

This is the best Andertons video I've seen in a while. No impression of reaching for ideas to create a video, interesting comments and a good range of pedals rather than just the current fashionable thing. To be fair; Lee's playing is much closer to my interests than Rob's, and hearing from someone who knows his stuff, but isn't approaching it from an "I'm a professional who needs a touring rig" is also a nice change. And Dan is obviously also worth listening too. Could we have more "This is on my board from other Andertons people? Maybe beyond the 'usual suspects' of Rob and Pete (not knocking them, but let have a slightly less 'professional musician' perspective maybe).

You can buy 3m Dual Lock tape anywhere you want. You don't need to buy it from The Gig Rig. You can get it on amazon for example. I'm using it for years on my pedalboard builds and it is amazing. Not only for pedalboards. Much stronger than velcro.

Yeah I've been using Dual Lock for years for special jobs. Mind you I haven't seen a source for black Dual Lock. Mine's kind of beige.

@Robbi Rose sure - i'm not against Dan making money - just saying there are other options. Btw: Are you sure the Gigrig stuff (which I own as well) is made in the UK with the proper work ethics and standards in place? Nothing against questioning the ethics though :) I'm not sure if all of it is made in England or the EU or if the power stuff for example comes from china etc …

I'd also recommend that anyone planning to use the metal powdercoated style of board to take a very light grit sand paper like a 220 and lightly scuff the metal before applying the adhesive tape. Not enough to remove the finish but enough to take all the sheen off of, then take some mineral spirits or indeed tape water and wipe the residue off it. That will give the adhesive more purchase on the metal. EDIT: I forgot to mention if you use thinners/mineral spirits let it dry thoroughly before you go slapping down the tape otherwise the adhesive goo will melt and be useless. The water should be let dry as well or it too will cause adhesion issues

Maybe I missed it, but what if you DO decide you want to use the wah for a special occasion? Do you just place it before the pedalboard, or do you temporarily patch it into the middle of the chain somewhere?

If the Quartermaster 6's width dimensions is 16.14 inches, and the Pedaldeck Artist II's width dimension is 23.5 inches, then how come in the video there isn't 7 inches of combined extra space on either side of the Quartermaster? Y'all dun goofed and advertised the wrong board!

I'm not surprised they decided to use the Generator instead of the 1Spot CS12. The CS12 is a great power supply, though. I've used one for a while. I love how the Generator system is expandable and powers virtually anything, though. That's the most annoying thing about other power supplies. You get maybe 8-12 connections at the most and they all limit you to a certain voltage and number of milliamps. Why do they make power supplies where 8 of the connectors provide 100-200 milliamps and two provide 500? That's not going to cut it anymore. That's my main criticism of the CS12.

I have that wah pedal and having issues with the internal trim pots. I want a wife a smooth Q. Problem is their manual only describes what the yellow and red Fasel trim pots do. There is a 3rd one below and I just can’t get it back to sound like it did when I bought it. And now there is a “sudden” jump in the Q sweep when on the yellow setting. REALLY hoping @dan from TPS can help shed light to this issue!

I love "That Pedal Show" ! Wonderful channel, but we have always disagreed about amps. I think on any modern day amp (even the Reissued vintage) should have a FX Loop, Dan doesn't. Blues On....

This is one of my favorite videos this year and I'm not a huge pedal aficionado...yet. I have a Dunlop Cry Baby, a channel switcher for my Katana, and a volume pedal. I have all the BTS effects to play with, so am I really missing anything important (other than talent)? But seriously, what would you recommend to get next for my little set up? I play more like what Lee plays than the heavier modern metal tones .

Dan - Please go into explanation on your power supply setups. You cable runs are OCD satisfying to the max! However I was disappoint to not get you nerding out peddle power requirements, tonal changes from under-powering/over-powering peddles, etc.

I was also confused about this. When Captain was threatening to use a pretty popular power supply, Dan implied it would be a mistake... however the quartermaster has nothing to do with providing isolated pedal power... so I’m confused what the concern was about the Captain suggested power supply at the start... anyone make sense of this ?

🤔 I tried my Klon type after my main drive (Ohm v2, designed by mezzo fx, a friend’s company), and it shelves too much bass. The Ohm is very full ranged, and all that glorious fullness was choked out. So I use the klon first as an always on boost (adds a “sparkle” to my clean tone, which is a modded blues jr -Vox like - slightly hairy, fat boost on). I roll the guitar volume off to clean up. It sounds best the way I’ve arranged it.

I don't have a pedal board but I do have a few pedals but I put them a different way to how most people do it. Like this: Amp.. into wah.. into chorus.. into distortion then my guitar. Most people would go amp chorus, distortion, wah then guitar.

Thanks so much for this video! I'm a huge fan of TPS, and have always been curious about the switching components that they use on their boards. I just recently found out it was from Dan's company. 33:30 you'd be increasing capacitance if you decreased the insulation between the shield and the inner conductor... I don't disagree that there's signal attenuation with longer cable runs and going through a bunch of components but I think the discussion on capacitance in guitar cables having any audible difference with such a small signal is kind of baloney...
