I have a dashcam in my car. Some countries, such as Russia and parts of Eastern Europe including Poland and Romania, mandate use of dashcams by law. In other countries, no such legislation exists. Over here in the United Kingdom and also over in the United States of America they’re not mandatory and not subjected to any restrictions. However, in France you may use a dashcam, but you cannot upload video footage you record with your dashcam to social media under data protection laws. You may only show your dashcam footage to law enforcement agencies, such as the police and the gendarmerie, if need be. No matter what though, a dashcam is a good idea.
