The Thing about the Cardigans is that they aren't trying to be ironic/clever... they just love Sabbath so they cover them a lot. They have an alternate version that's more of a samba rhythm I really like that version.
This show has got to be the greatest I've ever seen/heard them play live....their sound is just more than excellent, beyond outstanding!!! Golly, just the thought of being there...
Am I sad ? as a life long Sabbath fan couldn't believe the Cardigans did this , Enjoyed it really , Ozzy is going to do Lovefool 200% to the Cardigans for thinking outside the box
Ozzy said he really liked this cover, because they did their own thing with it; everyone else tries to sound like Black Sabbath, it’s just the same thing over and over.
This makes me a little queasy, and I'm not sure why. I mean, it's not terrible, I guess I'm just not a big indie fan. Or maybe its this group. It kinda flat lines, but maybe that's what they are trying to do. Maybe I just don't get it. Its a little clever, just not a lot if you ask me, and I expect more. Not trying to be a hater. Maybe someone can explain it to me?
Where you're wrong: they aren't an indie group. Where you're right: It is certainly their intention to make it sound saccharine and subdued, and yes, it's clever.
Not hating on the Cardigans, but this falls very, very flat. It doesn't come across as clever as the idea of it probably was. But, it was the mid-90's and everybody was doing really weird shit.
