Totally agree with you, as usual. I am glad someone was offended by Bill DeWitt smug, " let them eat cake attitude" You put total faith in Mozaliak, who exhibits the same attitude without the laugh. Shildt was a better manager, Jocketty was a better GM. We went from Red, to Whitey, to LaRussa and now we have to act like Mo knows best? I've been a fan for over 50 years and I have never been more angry. It's not the losing as much as the disdain for "the most knowledgeable fans in baseball."

It's not the fans, it's the organization. The organization has put a team out there that is not Cardinal baseball. We just ignore a bad product. Ownership is so disrespectful they interpret that as as a boycott. It's not. Give us this product and you get this level of (dis)interest. It's not the fault of the best fans in baseball for understanding the game and product on the field. It's about a bad product by failed ownership that treats this proven fan base so poorly that they can see their failing and gaslight it into a fan failing. And then they escalate by saying "who cares?" and "we will blame the declining interest on your decades of support" rather than our failure to put a decent team on the field. No ownership. We are not fighting you. We are ignoring you because you are failing to make an entertaining team. You failed to take care of your investment and have drastically devalued this money maker. Never blame others for poor investment and bad business execution. Take responsibility before the damage is serious.

Just an FYI…I am a 70 yr old Cards Fan who used to listen to Harry Caray and Jack Buck in the 60’s with my dad in the backyard with a transistor radio. Still love my boys and their stories. Wish I had had someone like you to explain more of the nuances of baseball. I am a woman who loves to talk and learn about the great game of baseball, so you have fans from ALL walks of life!

Ya know, I was going to bed as the 7th inning started, then the bases were loaded, but that time it just felt a teeny bit different, so I said sure, I'll watch Winn blow it. And then I'll be damned. I rather have Tony Gwynn's or a contact doubles hitter 1 through nine than a Stanton or Judge, love the Whitey ball.. spot on with Libby, should be in the bp. Leahy should start., whiffle ball thrower with a lizard tongue😂 Matt C great take, nerves of steel, no shift thats a big reason they signed him. Im so pulling for Paul G!!,,yea the delay by Ollie was like a field goal kicker with the game on the line ,,Time out!😂,, it worked👍.. I was very happy but to be real the Angels relief core lost the game as much as the Cardinals winning. Reminded me of the birds last year. We now know we have a place to send Gio!

I feel like this is just a lucky game, I may be wrong but that's what I think I'm afraid it will be rough down the road again. I'm not trying to be negative I'm just being real and not complacent. Cards has bases loaded couldn't score 1 run and also had bases loaded and Goldy couldn't come through again.

See my comment below. It was a fluke , and until the teams CEO , demands accountability top to bottom , losses will pile up. Mozeliak's usefulness ended 5yrs ago. The backbreaking straw should have been when Mozeliak fired shildt over philosophical indifferences. Mo should have been fired the next day and Shildt should have been resigned by the owner himself. Shildt turned the Farm system into the leagues best. And deserved a helluva lot better . Shame on the owner for allowing that and Karma now is the payback.

Well, they always say....a blind squirrel find a nut every now and then. 😊 There are 2 events from the past that seem to have doomed this team to where they are now. 1. Not resigning Marcel Ozuna after giving up the talent that was used in the trade 2. Not listening to Jason Heyward on why he left the team for the Cubs, where he would get his World Series ring.

Goldy and Arenado DID say that they pushed hard to bring Carp in to shoulder more of the "Clubhouse Leader" role. Maybe having him back will have a greater impact than just his bat being (surprisingly) good. Hopefully we can get some good vibes going, play a bit more loose, get reinforcements from Walker figuring things out in AAA, and get Carlson going like he was going in Spring Training and get going on a run here. ...Or Gray will give up 1 run and we'll still loose 2-0 tonight with 2 hits and 12 strikeouts and start another losing streak... Time will tell!!!! Side note: I 100% expected Goldy to swing at the very first pitch he saw (like he always seems to do when a new pitcher comes in with bases loaded) instead of putting the pressure on him and making him throw some strikes and ground into a weak Double Play. "Glad" the first pitch hit him to take away his "opportunity" to end the ending.

For the Burleson pinch hit...I would have kept Burleson in the game playing a corner OF and put Noot in CF. Let Carlson ride the pine. Wins are too far and few between to have both Carlson's bat and glove in the game. You never know if you are going to need a late or extra inning RBI out of a guy like Burley (after the initial pinch hit)!

Gotta feel for the Angels fans. Been following them since Albert went there. Go Cardinals. Offense trending in the right direction. Only disagreement with last night was Siani should have been able to go for his hitting streak. Jordan Walker needs to come back. .326 in Memphis. Dylan looks fragile. Send him down. Please.

There is a correlation between payroll and winning. Dewitt III is right about that; but, I would bet the correlation is not as strong as he might think. Just consider these four teams: Mets, Padres, Brewers, Rays. Those four teams alone heavily skew the correlation lower. With these four teams, the correlation may actually be negative!

They benefitted greatly from walks again and had no consistent hitting throughout the game. As much as I wish I could say it’s encouraging it’s not. I fully expect them to go right back to 2-3 runs tonight against a mediocre pitcher

Things did look much better last night with the hitting but getting 8 walks and an error and hit by pitch against the 2nd or 3rd worst team in MLB was just barely exciting. Lets see how we do in the next couple weeks before I get to feeling better. Bill DeWitt lll is a real piece of work. The guy was born on 3rd and thinks he hit a triple. I can see Bill DeWitt jr. selling the team before his kid embarrasses the whole family.

You are absolutely correct Sir! Mismanagement for a while now. Time to shake things up! I'm not about breaking up the team and selling off.....I'm about getting these players a coaching staff that can motivate them. Look at Belicheck.....He took Tom Brady and won I believe 7 frickin rings! If memory serves me correctly, he was in the last round ( Don't hold me too that). My point is, a good coach can get a thorough bread out of a jackass......We are miles from that.

To: B.Dewit III , as for Payroll reflecting Attendance. This isn't the issue when guys can't hit for long periods of time. By leaving guys like Goldschmidt in the line up as long as Marmol has is the issue. The organization isn't demanding that millionaire players humble themselves while beginning to slump. Adjust , stop looking to hit everything 500ft and just concentrate on getting the bat to hit the ball. Cheapo little bloopers opposite field on an outside pitch. With men on base in scoring position score runs. They've been acting like in the eyes of the organization. Small ball is taboo. And it won't be tolerated. Playing guys that have been horrible offensively for 2 months will kill morale. Why ? Because the younger players begin feeling like winning isn't as important as playing the big dollar veteran players. The virus will infect the entire clubhouse.
