man, I was SOO looking forward to seeing Middleton pitch! That fire he brings is awesome, and I wanted to see it working for the Cards! That one is right up there with Arenado for most frustrating moments of this year (so far...)
After Lynn and Gray pitch, I'm always fearful of what we are gonna get from the next 3 starters, Gibson was good today, Mikolas I'm afraid of tomorrow, and I still don't even know who our 5th starter is, that decision is like the wind, changing..
"I wear my sunglasses at night so i can so i can see"🧑🎤 C'mon JD, let's see those beautiful Budweiser bloodshot blues. Lol Enjoy a well deserved visit from the Redbirds.
So I did the footwork. In 2023 , the Cards had not played with a .500 win loss record at any time in 2023. May they played 14-14 , not good enough to recover from April 10-18. July they went 13-12 still not enough to recover from April's bad start. Uh, we're again nipping at the heels of .500 but then lose again. This lovefest for Arenado and Goldy isn't a valid 1. They play little to no smallball offensively speaking. Defensively we're in an uncharacteristic trend of 13 game error streak. We didn't pay dearly for errors recently because our pitching has been, for the most part, surviving those errors. We play sloppy in Philly and we're not surviving those misplayed balls. It's time to rest Arenado and shop Goldy before his hot streak cools very soon.
Trade Goldschmidt when he's Hot , it will not last long . Same with Nolan, if he starts to hit put him up for sale to the highest bidder. Neither of these 2 will lower their standards to win a game. They won't Half swing, or bunt in late game go ahead situations. When you learn as a team , smallball wins more games, than when everyone hits homeruns, you'll eclipse the .500 plateau and continue toward .600 ball.
There are young, hungry guys, playing with big hearts. You'll ruin their mindset by continuing to run Goldschmidt and Arenado out there daily, as the heart of the order. Do for the Young guys, and the fans, and for the right to post season competition. Stop doing solely for Egos, that of Arenado & Goldy , they are not leaders , nor are they willing to do they little itty bitty things it takes to win, regularly.
In short , over a span of about 215 games , the Cards have played a stretch of 12 to 14 games recently that show a sign of life.. As a realist, I see it as no more than that. This team hasn't played 1 straight month over .500 in how long ? @JD Hafron can you tell us the last time the Cardinals were over .500 for 1 straight month of baseball? It'll take that achievement b4 I get any warm fuzzy feelings about this under performing , over paid , and unmotivated group. OK, now I'll admit that 5 or 6 guys on this team show me they really do want to win it all. That includes pitchers too. We cannot move forward to a playoff competitive demeanor until Goldschmidt & Arenado are either traded or forced to play smallball in game deciding situations. When a guy like Winn, Donovan, Nootbar, Carlson or Siani is on 3rd , with only 1 out. It's tied in the 8th inning, and Goldschmidt and Arenado can't lay a bunt down to score a run or even tap a pitch to the R side of the infield, then it's only logical that you remain a sub.500 team. These guys won't lower their self images and bunt to win a game so screw them.
Hey JD: We’ll see where we are after June 5th. I’ll give you my score on the belief meter then. Right now it’s moved up 5 degrees from 30 to 35. That’s because Goldy is now hitting and the Cards have been winning. 😉
Biggest concern is keeping Herrera healthy! He’s had some brushes with balls behind the plate that could have put him on the IL. 😮. Then today he grimaced in pain on a swing and miss that appeared to hurt his shoulder. 🫢
Cards refuse to be .500 they are anti-500.... They did everything they could to lose today's (Game1) against the Reds (commit costly errors (Nado & Goldy), Goldy gets a pass, but i don't know what's going on with Nado... Lance Lynn deserved better. And Marmol benched both Donovan and Nootbaar, two guys who can work the count whether it's lefties or righties pitching... then he jerked the lineup order around, Herrera 4th, Nado 5th, Carlson 6th slow-footed Burleson 2nd... i don't get the inconsistency on lineups...
Winn and Burleson are the real deal, as well as Donovan and Noot. We should thank the weather man for the rain. It kept the starting pitcher from over working. Jo Jo is giving me bad vibes. Please trade Gio now. Hitters are getting good swings on the so called Trinity. Oakland has a guy named Miller who throws over 100 with control. The Birds need him before he goes to the Yankees. I love Burleson on the Mic in right field. Biscuits is a stud!
I mean there best pitcher is against the brewers so brewers may or not have a chance cubs are gonna take it out on brewers do you think it worked and we got them going again
Not ready to trust especially after so many close games with tense moments over Cubs. We will see when Cards go to Philly, & by the way I am going there Sat., June 1 with my BIL. Suddenly our so good BP was suspect. I am not giving Oli a waiver over use with back to back days for our last should have skipped Helsley over use in the in the 1st game after going up 7-4 entering 9th.
Not worried..but they do need to watch the pitch counts back to back days. He shouldn't pitch at all tonight.. Lynn will go 8 innings then that lefty or Leahy for the ninth
I only clicked as you were the first video when I came onto RU-vid but like I’ve said I’m not watching this team till they aren’t under .500 and are in a tight race with brewers or first place
Remember Mo again saying he likes the staff as it is SMH this team is actually starting to play like a team again regardless I've been saying we get back to 500 we can talk well getting close to having to have that talk
The recent play from STL is certainly welcome - and overdue….a number of concerns remain though….overworking the bullpen ( they’ll need some reinforcements by mid season)….the back end of the rotation….& continued improvement/consistency from the lineup (all obvious)….the front office should be looking to creatively fine-tune/add to the roster at the deadline as long as they hover around .500.
Dreamers , cmon guys, these two are washed up , find the highest bidder, and breakout the young guys. Too much overpaid dead weight acting as the Sub.500 anchor. Lose it for God's sake. This lovefest for these two has got to stop. They can't adjust their swings in a smallball setting. All they know is they wanna hit HR's and they're unwilling to come to terms with their aging ways. They struggle to produce, making them struggle to be leaders. Enough already.
@@brianr4214 Hi Brian; none of us are dreaming. This team is what it is. So the simple imagination of what this team could be “IF” Goldy and Nado did breakout at the same time. It’s not beyond them to do it by any means. We just have not seen it for over a year and a half!
Fundamental play is still not there. But when they get over .500 hopefully in this Cincinnati series that will be achieved? My fear is Elli Dela Cruz is going to run all over Herrera like the Cubs did? I watched him in the Dodgers series a week ago take a walk....Steal 2nd.....Steal 3rd.....Then score on a passed ball.....Sound familiar? 🤣
I’m really hope we don’t have any closer pitchers who throw at players I don’t want another repeat with Phillies they’re already mad at us the fanbase still might be mad at the cardinals who knows they probably haven’t let I go yet
I'm a disabled veteran, 20 years in the army, I have to use a walker to get around,I'm only 66 and I can'tdrive, win,,lose ,,I would attend every home game, been a fan since 1964, LOVE MY CARDS
My Dad let me skip Kindergarten classes to watch game 7 of the 1964 World Series with him. He was a Cards fan going back to the Gashouse Gang Days, which made it difficult for him to hate Leo the Lip later in life. Thanks for your sacrifice
@@robertcrist5747man I wish we would have good rotation like we did back in 2006 we used too we need to get it together so we can have 2 dangerous pitchers we need a number 2 pitcher one that will back Sonny gray or possibly be our future number pitcher
